Thalmann Alignment Service

This is the best alignment shop in the the area. Ask for Todd the owner. Extremely nice guy that gets the job done at a great price. Make sure to take cash or a checkbook, they don’t accept credits cards. For the service and price I don’t mind that don’t accept credit cards. They give you the discount on the back end. Also, its a super honest shop. Todd told me it would be a $ 100 for both the front and rear alignment job. I picked up the minivan and he charged me $ 60, only the rear needed to be fixed. I highly recommend

Reasonably priced, very professional, extremely clean and well organized shop, work done correctly. Great experience.

Recommended from a member of local VW community. By appointment only, which I like. I got there early and they were able to get my alignment done quickly and correct. Tech was nice enough to check some nuts and bolts, while he had the car in the air, recently installed lowering springs. Shop is clean and looks well organized. Met the owner briefly, nice person and his tech was easy to talk to as well. Car drove perfect on the local roads and highway. Steering wheel also is straight, which VWs can be a pain to align properly for some shops.
Why 4 out of 5 stars? Only cash and checks. This can be a problem for people who don’t like to carry cash, like me :) But decided it was worth still going to this place, based on its reputation amongst the racing/​enthusiast community. Their hours are also only M-​F. So if you work from 9 – 5, might be a bit tough. But I rather come to work later, than having to deal with multiple visits to shop for bad alignment and waste a weekend.
Their alignment setup is also «low» friendly. So they won’t have to put it on blocks, to get it on the rig, if you’re too low.
Also, don’t be like me and forget to ask for before/​after alignment specs. Available upon request. I was used to Firestone providing one without asking.
Will be going back for future alignments.

I’ve been using Thalmann ‘s alignment for the past 10 years or more, anyway, well ahead of Unilocal and any other internet reviews sites. So I decided to sign into Unilocal and write a review while I waited for my car. These guys know what they are doing. They always inspect your front end suspension elements prior to doing the alignment and advise you if you need to change anything prior to the alignment, so you don’t spent the $ on alignment for no reason. I saw a user complaining about the fact that they don’t accept credit cards. I think when you use a mechanic (and especially for steering alignment) you have to look at his expertise and the shop over all, not the method of payments accepted. The shop was super clean and I’m very satisfied with all the aspects of my visit here. That is the reason I’m giving 5 stars and will continue to use them in the future .

Worst experience ever! Went there with an appointment for an alignment they «finished» it in 5 min charged me $ 80 and then told me that i need something else done, but i need to come some other time because they don’t have other appointments. On top of that I had to go get cash from an ATM since they did not accept credit cards. Also, no customer service skills whatsoever, but I guess that is common within mechanics! :D

Great service and state of the art equipment make for a perfect alignment. Won’t hesitate to go back for the next one. Thanks Justin!

My car was taken here by my shop and by all accounts, all picky mechanics try to bring their cars here for alignments. While shopping for tires, several other salesman pointed me in this direction (I’d also just replaced the suspension). They’re squeezed in right next to the train tracks, East side, just past Shermer. Any future alignment work, will definitely go back to Thalmann’s.

A professional shop that does it right the first time and keeps the pricing reasonable! I’m on my third BMW, and every one of them has gone to Thalmann’s. If you want the best alignment and balancing service out there, go to Thalmann’s, these guys are the BEST!
