Alterations Pro

Julia is wonderful! she did a great job altering a dress I’ve had for 3 years, but have not worn due to the fabric/​fit/​short lining under a sheer, long overlay. She was able to change the fabric of the lining and made it longer. It is now more comfortable and fits beautifully. She also designs and sews her own clothing– I bought a cute, comfy one-​of-​a-​kind tee that fits very well and a poncho-​like top that is super comfortable for plane trips/​running around. I highly recommend Julia for all alteration needs and for some one-​of-​a-​kind clothing!

Julia is amazing! She altered my wedding dress and I could not be happier. I bought the dress online and liked it, but wasn’t sure I loved it. After Julia made the alterations, I love the dress! She knew right away what needed to be done, she was patient, worked quickly and the quality of her work could not be better. The price was extremely fair and she was a pleasure to work with. I’m writing this review on behalf of my friend, Lana. I helped her look for a place to get her wedding dress altered and I came across Alterations Pro on Unilocal.Reviews were amazing so I told her to get an appointment asap.
Lana went to her first appointment 4 weeks ago and said Yulia was very professional and gave her a good rate. They had a few fitting sessions and she told me that Yulia was very attentive to the details and made sure that Lana was comfortable in the dress. She picked up her dress last week and she’s very pleased with the alteration. I don’t live in the area but if I ever need my future wedding dress altered, I’ll happily make the drive up to Northbrook for Yulia!

Yulia did an amazing job on 2 pieces for me. 1 was a very high end $ 1000 dress and I admit I was nervous having her work on such a nice piece since it was my first time working with her. But, she blew me away and did fantastic work on both of my pieces. Both difficult alternations. Highly recommend!

I had Yuliya make some alterations to my button down dress shirt. Not only was the quality of work great and turnaround fast, but her prices are extremely reasonable. I would very much recommend her and will be coming back for all my alteration needs in the future.

First of all, I can say enough how I appreciate Yuliya for her help with my wedding dress. She has a gift from God to turn ugly things into beautiful things. Here is my story. I’m size 0, it was very hard to find a dress that will fit on me perfectly in bridal stores and I decided to order a custom dress from a «wedding designer». I put «wedding designer» in quotes because the girl who made my dress did completely horrible job. I hope no one will experience such horror on the most important day of their life.
I brought this monstrosity of a dress to Yuliya 2 days prior to the wedding with the tears in my eyes and asked her if she can do anything. Some background on the dress — it was sewn incorrectly, was hanging 45 degrees to the right on her hips, bunched up on the stomach, straps were hanging, the right top half was higher than the left, the zipper was lopsided and in general the dress was a disaster. I was in tears. When I got to Yuliya, she told me that she will try to do something but said she couldn’t promise anything, because initially the patterns were incorrectly done. She worked on my dress all day and when I came back to pick it up at 9 pm I was stunned at what she did. The dress fit me perfectly. Yuliya is truly talented and experienced. I will be going to her if I ever need anything altered in the future. She is a lifesaver!!! The best work I’ve ever seen!

Julia is very talented. She listens to what you want and delivers. I go to her for all my alterations and I am always pleased with her work. I am quite picky and I only trust her because I know she will do an excellent job! She is highly recommended. Thank you Julia!

Julia is outstanding! I had a really difficult bridesmaid dress. It had tons of layers, very cheap lace, and fit wrong all over the place. She worked very hard and it looked stunning at the wedding. She was so accommodating, even when the bride changed her mind about the train on our dress at the last minute. She is also very friendly and kind. I will bring more of my stuff to her in the future. She is a very talented tailor and I highly recommend her.

I went to Julia to alter a long strapless satin pleated bodice bridesmaid dress. She did a great job hemming the bottom and a fantastic job taking it in slightly at the top. I wanted the bodice to be more snug but was very concerned about it being too tight and looking pudgy. Julia listened and did a wonderful job. It’s now a perfect fit!
I will definitely go back to her for future alterations.
