Specialties
We are a parrot rescue, adoption, education and boarding facility.
History
Established in 1996.
Originally, the Refuge started out as a temporary home for displaced parrots shortly after the CEO acquired his first bird, Prince, a Congo African Grey who still lives at the rescue. He realized the need for a parrot-specific place and created the Refuge in 1996. Since then, it has grown and now houses a variety of birds. The Refuge started boarding and selling it’s custom-blended food to help offset the costs involved in running the rescue. The Refuge now provides assistance to law enforcement agencies in regard to animal investigations, advice to people living with birds, grooming and of course, rescue.
