A.M. Lee Jeweler has been specializing in jewelry design for over 50 years. We are a family owned jewelery store, whose main focus revolves around superior service. History

Established in 1958.

Started by a young, ambitious, Charles Selon in 1958; Charles, Chuck, Chas, or simply Mr. Selon, to many, quickly began laying the groundwork for a business that would last generations. Never taking his eye off the prize, Mr. Selon proved to be the «go to guy» when anyone needed anything jewelry related. In 1981, Mr. Selon took a shot on a young bench jeweler, Albert Lee, who showed many of the same ambitions reminiscent of the owner in his younger days. Over the next 13 years Mr. Selon groomed Al to be the successor of his business. The once, young bench jeweler, has now become a seasoned veteran the way his predecessor had done himself. Weathering many of the same trials and tribulations, Al soon began to fill the same shoes left by Mr. Selon; transforming the business into a well known, honorable jeweler with the greatest reputation in Northbrook today.

A. M Lee delivered an all around great experience! We worked mostly with Zion, who is great, but the whole staff was friendly and incredibly knowledgable too. They helped me find the perfect engagement ring by describing the pros/​cons of different styles, metals and stones. My fiancé gets compliments all the time on her beautiful ring! I will absolutely be using Zion and A. M Lee again in the future when we buy our wedding rings.

Stopped in to check out some watches and found a lot of other items that were really great. They have a wide variety of jewelry, vintage pieces, and they also do custom work. The staff was very helpful, especially Zion. He was spot on with suggestions for my style and pricing for my budget. If you are looking for some unique jewelry with great quality, this is the spot. I will definitely be coming back here for my next purchase.

I have a few pieces from here that are fabulous. Great quality and simply beautiful. Recently some friends of ours got married and we found out their rings were purchased here. The bridal set was absolutely STUNNING. We liked it so much we went in to look at engagement rings and were met with not only a wonderful array of rings, but also excellent customer service. They are very helpful and extremely knowledgable. If you are looking to make a fine jewelry purchase I HIGHLY recommend A M Lee. You will not be disappointed.

This place is a hidden gem (pun indeed intended) located in a strip mall off of Dundee. The storefront is quaint and has that mom and pop charm to it. Upon entering, you’ll notice the smell of freshly baked cookies… Yes, cookies! Leonard’s Bakery IS right next door, but perhaps this is a good marketing technique? Cookies make people happy, and happy people buy jewelry, no? Anyway, after several services by AM Lee, I am now a very satisfied customer. I am currently in the process of updating old pieces of jewelry and changing around some items, and they have produced what I envisioned and sketched in my mind. The most important quality of this business is the family vibe, thus knowing it is a true mom and pop. They are truly helpful, patient, and aren’t trying to just make a dollar, like chain stores. They have a good selection to choose from and if they don’t have it, they will do everything they can to find it. Go here for your jewelry needs! (And grab some cookies next door on your way out!)

My wife brought in her necklace and medallion to be fixed 2 years ago. When she came to pick it up they told her they had lost it. We just got a call saying they found it after all this time. I picked it up earlier today for my wife expecting some sort of discount after all this time. When I asked about getting a discount, I was told no because it was our fault for not picking it up earlier (I’m not joking). The younger gentleman who was assisting me became very confrontational about this which surprised me because I was asking for a discount on a small amount (the bill was only $ 40). Most customers in my situation would have expected them to waive the $ 40 fee after 2 years. Anyway, he made me feel uncomfortable so I just paid the $ 40 and got out of there.
I joined Unilocal just to post this review. That’s how disappointed I felt with my experience with this jeweler.

Zion just went above and beyond. He was so thorough at explaining the whole process of choosing a wedding band to go with my diamond engagement ring. He provided an absolute great value and superb craftsmanship. You can tell his dad and him have a passion for what they do. He helped me order my fiancées ring through a catalog and helped me design the wedding band of my dreams! 10k gold with diamonds set in a tunnel. I will definitely be going back to him with any future jewelry needs! Five star service!

Excellent family owned business. I went in with an idea for an engagement ring and they custom designed it in a timely fashion. The quality of products they used was outstanding! Service was always fast, reliable and helpful. After an excellent experience with the engagement ring, we went back to purchase both of our wedding bands. Each time in the store, staff was welcoming and cleaned the engagement ring to make it look brand new. They made small adjustments on the spot as needed. I highly recommend A.M. AM Lee is the jeweler I recommend to all of my friends, family, co-workers…everyone. They designed my engagement ring, customized my wedding band, resized I don’t know how many rings, designed a custom pendant and reset my grandmother’s diamond into earrings for me. Their customer service is beyond excellent and they are quick to ask questions, clarify wants and turnaround whatever you need. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my jewelry.

Great customer service! This place is family owned and operated, and I’ve been coming here for years. They do amazing work– custom jewelry, repairs, vintage selections– all of it beautiful with excellent attention to detail. My fiancé and I just bought our wedding bands here and had my antique heirloom engagement ring re-​sized. The engagement ring is perfectly sized and our wedding bands are beautiful, right down to the hand-​engraved dates inside the bands. I’ve also had a custom made pendant commissioned here, and it was exactly what I wanted. I can’t say enough good things!
