DO NOT EXIT OFF OF 294 GOING SOUTH ON TO EDENS. YOU WILL BE STUCK FOR HOURS.
Last night at 10:45 p.m. I was heading south on 294 to Chicago, and like a moron I took the exit that dumps you on to Edens. I should have known better. Even when things are «normal» out there, this merge location can be very crowded. Well, this was indeed the night from hell.
There was single lane construction from that exit down to Tower Road, and it took me 1 and ½ hours to go from just south of Lake Cook Road to Tower Road, in Northfield.
It was total chaos.
And that BLEEPING IDOT (Illinois Department of Transportation) could have had the brains or courtesy to put a sign up on 294 alerting drivers to this hellspot. Jerks.
