Nice store. Has everything. Staff helpful enough without being overbearing. Great place to demo clubs on their launch monitors.

I can not imagine a more dangerous place to shop. Dangerous for your bank account, that is. The two knock-out areas where this store swings like a pre-prison Mike Tyson are service and selection. Let’s begin with the selection. Golf gear is a PITA to shop for. There are 500 options in every category, all of them are of the type that you really cannot buy without trying it first, and no store seems to carry them all. That’s where Golf Town comes in — this place actually does carry them all. I wear a Mens 7.5 shoe and normally have a heck of a time trying to find a store which stocks even one model in this size. But Golf Town? I spent half a day trying on the different options. Putting a shoe on your foot and taking a few measured steps isn’t the best way to judge a piece of performance footwear. If the store isn’t too packed(and in my experience, it generally isn’t), you can walk over to the simulators and take a few swings with the shoes on. Irons, drivers, and wedges are the same story. They stock every set from every maker. Want to take a few swings? Just grab a club off the rack and head to the simulator. Looking for a wedge? They have every loft in every bounce from every maker, in both conforming and non-conforming models. But that’s just the heavenly candy-store aspect. There is also a significant service component here. The obvious item is the use of the simulators. Instead of hitting balls into net and then letting your imagination handle the evaluation, Golf Town has a bunch of golf simulators where you take your swings. These fancy computer hitting bays give you legitimate feedback about your performance. They give you distance, trajectory, spin, head speed, face angle, etc etc with every swing. When you’re trying to evaluate clubs, this is exactly the data you need. Don’t worry about the simulator being«tuned» to give flattering results — you are encouraged to bring your current clubs in and swing them for comparison. And the people who work there? Just as good as the rest of the operation. They’re knowledgable, no-pressure, helpful, and friendly. If one of them sees you swinging in the bays, he may walk over, ask you what you’re hitting, and then come back a minute later with another club to try. In summation, you, as a golfer, owe it to yourself to shop here. It’s so good it will bite your ear off.
