Lucky Nail Salon

Unfortunately for me, my experience at this nail salon would be the last. The nail technician that worked on my nails did such a sloppy job. She was trying to do a «fast and furious» basic manicure. I was out like within 10mn. And she was not good at drawing design either. Last but not least, one of the technician added liquid nail remover in one of a client nail polish, instead of taking a new one…

If you need a fast manicure, this is the place to go. Just make sure to come in with low expectations, and you won’t be disappointed. This is not a spa. It’s a cheap mani-​pedi place. The technicians are not interested in you, which is the way I like it. They are professional and sterilize their tools, have a decent selection of colors, and are fast. What else do you need?

I came back and this past experience deserves 5 stars. Van did my gel manicure and she was great, sweet, funny, and spoke great English. It was a fun and easy process, and my nails look great.

This was definitely not a high-​end spa as other reviewers have mentioned. I was really rushed to pick a color (I basically walked in and was told to sit at a table before I had even picked a polish). I was getting a gel manicure and the colors were held by the manicurist and I was expected to point and pick a color in under 20 seconds. I asked for my nails to be shorter, which I was told could not be done.
Basically the whole manicure was rushed and I did not feel comfortable. This was the quickest manicure of my life and not worth the money.

I had the shortest pedicure of my life. It lasted ten minutes. I expected to be massaged, etc for a least 20. They rushed with everything they did. The nails turned out okay. but I expected better. while we we were drying they started vacuuming and cleaning… They were a good 30 minutes away from closing time. the atmosphere was not good

Most of the staff here is extremely friendly and they all do a great job. I usually go in the middle of the day and never have a problem with walking in without an appointment. I have gone around the 5 o’clock hour before and they had to turn a few walk ins away because it was so busy. Overall the place is clean, nothing fancy, and the prices are average to those of other similar nail salons in the area. I prefer going to lucky’s because I’m always happy with their work and it’s convenient location.

Used to get my nails done here frequently cuz it’s close and it’s usually a good job. Some of the techs are better than others. I was never motivated either way to post a review until this week.
When I stopped in at Luckys Tuesday night I was told they were too busy. The owner offered me a slot with Jenny later that evening at 5:30. I agreed and she put me in the book.
Imagine my surprise when I showed up for my appointment and the girl at the desk asked me to take a seat. Confused as to why Jenny was elbow deep in a deluxe pedicure– I was brushed off with the excuse «we only have two people that can do fills tonight».
Why did I make an appointment and come back!?! Not so I could sit ignored 25 minutes — that’s for sure.
I left and never looked back. Thanks to the fact that there’s competition in town finally… yay!

I got my nails done here once & never again. I was very dissatisfied. They didn’t do a good job with my cuticles, and they reused their nail files & buffers, etc. Kind of unsanitary in my opinion. In comparison to other nail salons nearby the area, they have the cheapest prices; HOWEVER based on the quality of service, I felt a little gypped.

Due to people’s apparent passive aggressiveness on Unilocal and immaturity I will keep this short.
Conveniently located in Northampton. Nice people. Wasn’t completely satisfied. My expectations are never high as I am used to quick $ 10 manicures from local nail salons in Boston. I found it a bit overpriced. If you’re fine paying whatever it is that they charge now, then by all means, go.

This is NOT a high-​end spa experience –Lucky Nail is the salon that regular working folks in Northampton go for regular mani-​pedi service at an affordable price (under $ 40).
Manis are lost lasting, and they offer regular manicure, gels, airbrushing etc. There is a row of 6 massage chairs waiting for pedicure clients. I haven’t used it, but they also offer lip and brow waxing. The quality of the work is good, materials are sterilized, and the salon is clean and comfortable, if not luxurious. Walk ins are welcome — if there is space on the schedule. The owner and employers are immigrant Asian-​Americans, so this isn’t a good place if you have strong prejudices against people with languages and accents other than American English.
If you are looking to be pampered, choose one of the pricier spas. If you want to be impeccably groomed at an affordable price, I’d recommend Lucky Nails.

I always go here during lunchtime without an appointment to get a gel manicure. I am really happy because they are detail oriented and just my nails look fabulous! No complaints except that it can take a while to get out (especially for something other than a simple manicure). I always need to have an hour but the nails come out great so I don’t mind. They have a ton of colors and make cool designs too.
