Golden Nozzle Car Wash

Really disappointing. I shouldn’t see soap all over the back window of my car as I’m slowly driving out under the dryers of the car wash. The timer for the dryer wasn’t working, either. So frustrating to have to rush home in order to rinse the back of my car to get all the soap off. First and last time I go here. I will not be recommending this to anyone else.

Okay, first off this is a touch less system. Having said that you have to accept the fact that caked on mud, eggs from Halloween, or your kids idea of fun with Aunt Betsy’s pumpkin pie isn’t going to simply come off without some scrubbing. It is good for removing most dust, light dirt and road grime. Beyond that, don’t expect miracles.
I usually just go for the option without any wax. There are two reasons for this. One, it’s more expensive and hardly worth the price for what it does. Two, your usually just putting a seal over any dirt that didn’t come off. I believe they call it the Super Shine.
When you first pull up and select the section you want to be in, you feed money to the machine and select your wash, Beware though because to much money fed into the machine may result in change… all in quarters! Imagine my surprise when I slipped the machine a twenty and then choose a ten dollar wash. For a minute I thought I was playing a freakin slot machine! Here comes ten dollars in change… all quarters! The green light comes on and you proceed into the wash. Proceed slowly because your chassis is being washed from underneath and if you go to fast, your missing one of the biggest benefits of this system. You are then given a red light when it’s time to stop. Sounds simple but I’ve seen people really struggle with this… I’m not sure why. SO if your one of those people that takes 4 or 5 tries before your in the right spot, you should either have your eyes checked, or surrender your license.
The wash proceeds through it’s cycles and rinses without any issues. Then the drier turns on. Now some places, the drier turns on and you drive out through it. While others have a system that goes over your car while you sit still. This system will dry as you exit so do so slowly gauging your progress by watching the timer. Remember, a wet car in the middle of summer will subject the paint to possible sunspots so use all of that dry time (which in my opinion should be longer)
Look, washing your car the right way, is no secret. But do your self and your wallet a favor. Go down the street to Autozone and buy a complete wash kit that you can keep in your trunk and wash your own car once in a while and hit the car wash for touch-​ups. Your car will thank you.
