History

Established in 1980.

CedarHouse has been operating for over 32 years. From its humble beginnings as a one-man 8-track studio, CedarHouse has evolved to its current virtually limitless capability. CedarHouse is very much dedicated to an atmosphere of creativity and efficiency, where the tools and expertise are subservient to the music. By design we do not book around the clock. We believe that it is impossible to fit creative people and creative processes into neat back-to-back time blocks. By using great tools and knowing them intimately, we are able to provide an enjoyable recording experience with a minimum of equipment related obstacles.

Gerry P.

Business Owner

My own musical training and background includes extensive studies of classical and jazz guitar (Hartt School of Music, The Berklee College of Music, Ithaca College and research at Cornell), classical voice, choral and glee club performing, rock & roll, R&B and country performance and studio work (as a musician).

My involvement in New Hampshire’s rich folk and traditional music scene has been one of the highlights of my career. Beyond our borders, I have worked with NBC, Random House, RCA, Green Linnet, NorthStar Music and hundreds more. CedarHouse clients have won or been nominated for numerous Grammy, JUNO and Blues awards. For example, «Pure Quill» and «The Canterbury Country Dance Orchestra» were voted as two of the top 40 musical albums of all time by Yankee Magazine. «Too Much Jesus (Not Enough Whiskey) by Mighty Sam McClain nominated for three 2013 Blue Awards — Soul Blues Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Artist of the Year
