History

Established in 1998.

The business opened in November of 1998. It was primarily run by the owner Tom with one employee. Since that time, we have grown in inventory, employees and customer base. We pride ourselves in customer service and having just about everything our customers want and need. In 2009, Tom’s wife, Lori, joined him full time in the business making it a truly old fashioned «mom & pop» store

Tom worked in construction with his father in his youth. He is mechanically inclined and continues to enjoy construction work. He has worked new construction and renovations. He is knowledgeable in plumbing, electrical and just about everything.

So my husband and I recently bought a little fixer upper in North Scituate and are doing our best to do a good chunk of the work ourselves. I thought, «I’m going to put in a new sink downstairs!» I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but it would be doable. And if not, I have a good friend who’s a plumber. I decided, rather than going to Home Depot, I would try this place, hoping for a more one on one experience to make sure I got the right parts. And that is exactly what I got.
It was like going back in time, to a tightly packed hardware store with dusty parts and pieces hanging all over the racks. The owner and his wife were incredibly helpful, and the owner spent almost twenty minutes with me, walking me through the process of installing the sink and making sure I had the right parts. We did end up going back a few times for missing things, but we did get the sink in! YAY! I’ll definitely be going back for future projects of which I am sure there will be many.
