I have been going to Reading Lumber since 1993 when I moved to town. It’s exactly what you want in a local lumber/​hardware store. They have everything you need, they deliver lumber for no extra charge and work around your schedule for the delivery. They are super nice, they know my name, and yes, they also have the cheapest propane fills anywhere. I only go to Moynihan’s or Home Depot for something that Reading Lumber doesn’t carry – which explains why I don’t need to go anyplace else that often. This is a perfect example of a great local business taking care of local customers with good old fashioned service and friendliness.

This place is an old school hardware/​lumber yard. I have only ever purchased one thing here and that is propane refills. They are far and away the absolute best price in the area for propane. No matter if your tank is empty, half full, it is always a flat fee of $ 11. Compare this with any of those Blue Rhino tank exchange places where you will find yourself laying down over $ 20 for the same thing.
