Specialties

Chicken and seafood is what we do best. We use fresh, never frozen, chicken lightly breaded and cooked to a golden perfection. We hand cut our Wild caught Alaskan cod fillets as well as hand bread all of our seafood items from shrimp to scallops and bitesize shrimp. Your meal is cooked to order and served just the way you like it!

Staff are courteous though could better aid the novice navigate the variegated offerings. The chicken pieces and tenders were moist with a welcoming texture. The coleslaw and potato salad maintained their fidelity in a world when such sides disintegrate into an undifferentiated mass. The shrimp were a hit and the cocktail sauce attending them didn’t disappoint. Sadly the same cannot be said for the French fries which would have profited from a liberal application of salt. I’ve never had a corn fritter but presume these to be serviceable.

Way better than publix or Walmart that let it get dry under heat lamp. Not spicy like Popeyes and not super small sides like off. A+. Great place. Wish was open later
Random trip: Out of mashed. I’ll wait. Charge a breast up charge of 75 cents per without telling me. And then going to tell me got no gravy. Different ppl working this shift. Not very happy with service. But food is good

Delicious food. One thing they need to address is that there is no cover over the area to order. The speaker is facing east, and when it is raining hard (like TONIGHT)…YOU CAN’T PUT YOUR WINDOW DOWN TO ORDER WITHOUT GETTING SOAKED!!! Haven’t had fried chicken in forever and thought I would finally give Bud’s a shot since I pass bye it all the time. Should have passed bye one more time and save myself from what I just ate. Ugh.
Got the chicken tender dinner since three is just not going to cut it for a lunch.
Positives is that for $ 10.50, it wasn’t that bad of a price and for people with smaller appetites the lunch specials are priced well and the hush puppies were pretty good.
Negatives: Pretty much everything else. There is no quality here. Generic everything. Generic mayo? Red Gold Ketchup?, hot sauce? Makes me wonder about the rest of the food I just ate. Rather pay another $ 0.50-$ 1 more to have better quality. Ton of food but zero flavor in the breading, Coke slaw was pretty much chopped cabbage and carrots, no salt or pepper on the fries, I asked for a Coke and was given Pepsi (didn’t tell me it was Pepsi products).
Disappointed. I really wanted to like Bud’s.

My favorite chicken place. The shrimp is good. Haven’t had their barbecue (I only eat McCray’s Backyard BBQ). Long lines on Friday but worth the wait when you get it! My grandmother loved to eat here too!

Best fast food cried chicken hands down. Slightly better than Popeyes… the seafood is by far the best fast food kind. Also try the buds sauce. Only problem I find is that the wait can be a bit longer than regular fast food but it’s way fresher so it’s all good.

First time visit and… I must say it was pretty darn tasty. I like that they had a drive thru and there was a little but of a wait, it moved pretty quickly. I opted for the shrimp/​fish combo which came with 4 hand battered shrimp, 2 fish fillets, 2 corn fritters, fries, and Cole slaw all for $ 9. The shrimp were delicious! They were a nice size not popcorn or heavily battered. The corn fritters were awesomeness, the fish fillets were just ok. Just a heads up everything on the menu is fried. Lol. Definitely a place to splurge on calories. A lot of bang for your buck. I say check them out if you are on the fence.

So I’ve noticed the food quality has been a lot better lately and the service a lot friendlier. Minus a star for never putting napkins or plasticware in the bag or even offering it, for that matter. But they are improving again.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I ordered a fish and shrimp combination dinner. One of the two fish filets was way over cooked, making it dry and barely edible. The second filet was better. The shrimp were ok. I enjoyed the fritters. The cocktail sauce was mostly frozen, degrading the experience.
The interior of the restaurant could use a major remodel.

KFC used to be my favorite fast food fried chicken place until I ate here. OMG! I love Bud’s chicken! The nice thing about this place is when you get a bucket, you can request whatever type of pieces you want — you can get a bucket full of drumsticks if you’d like. The seafood is also great! Writing this review makes me to want to get it tonight for dinner!

Memories, memories, memories. It’s been 29 years since I have eaten at this fresh fried haven. Tho was a weekly staple for me in high school. The fried seafood platter is beyond excellent and they create the best wings that I have eaten. After 20 years? They still have it going on. That’s hard to replicate in this day and age. Thank you for not changing what you are famous for and good at doing.

I Love Them… The Chicken is Great, The Seafood is Great The Fries are outstanding… if you never tried them you must… The cole slaw is awesome too But eat there. cause the fries get bad real quick so it’s best to eat them hot !

Not impressed. Chicken crispy but extremely greasy and under seasoned. A little salt and pepper would go a long way. No spicy option either. Chicken thigh pieces were about half the size that you get at other places. Macaroni salad was drenched in dressing.

I was in search of food, and being new to the area consulted Unilocal.After reading the reviews, I figured I would try Bud’s and I am so glad I did! Love the fried fish and the hush puppies! The fried chicken and clam strips are good too, and their portion sizes are generous. If you haven’t tried Bud’s you are seriously missing out!

I’ve had a lot of fried chicken and Bud’s is hands down the BEST! I dare anyone top the awesomeness of this place. When I was a little girl my family would come here all the time. Now whenever I’m down in the 561 I’m stopping there. West Palm isn’t how I remember it but this place has stood the test of time. Oh and try the fritters! You’re welcome :)

Great local spot for sit down or takeout fried chicken, shrimp or clams. West Palm Beach institution. I remember dad taking me to the original place in Lake Worth when a chicken dinner was $ 2.50. Ahh, the good old days!
