Believing that a strong economy starts at home, Toby’s emphasizes locally done and American-​made products. Products originating from other countries are represented as well, such as Ariki’s paua shell jewelry from New Zealand, Galileo Thermometers from Germany, and Artesania Rinconada hand carved statuettes from Uruguay. We pride ourselves on superb customer service and a vast array of quality merchandise at Toby’s, where our products are both unique and affordable.

History

Established in 1980.

Toby’s World Gifts opened as the «Cash Store» in about 1910, on the site of what is now the Little River Water Company. Owned by Captain George Ellis, along with Dr. Stone of Little River, the Cash Store was a true general store, selling everything from seeds and fertilizer to work clothes and coffins! Sold in 1972, the building was moved to its current location and renamed for its new owner, Toby Frye. In May 2001, Ron White (no, not the comedian) became the new owner of Toby’s World Gifts. Delighted by the atmosphere of the store, he has maintained its old world charm while adding new merchandise and expanding on your favorites.

Ron bought Toby’s World Gifts in May 2001. He has overseen its transformation from an antiques and collectibles store to a gift shop focused on American made goods, especially ones done by local artisans. Having spent most of his life in corporate retail management, Ron has always been keen on owning his own business. Ron is very hands-​on with the store and knows everything about almost every product in our store! When he can slip away, he enjoys spending time fishing, at the pool, or relaxing while watching the news or listening to music by artists like Norah Jones.
