Pretty good restaurant. CASH only is a little crazy in 2016. Get square. But food was good, service was fine and atmosphere is cool. Much better than Duffys.

Tried Doc’s after reading the rave reviews on Unilocal. Food is fresh and well prepared however, presentation and atmosphere was extremely disappointing. Filet tips were served In paper French fry trays — fires on the side(on styrofoam). Service was attentive and efficient. We just felt like dinner for 4 for $ 80 should be in a place that has real tableware, and much better atmosphere.

7 of us went to Docs while in Myrtle Beach on vacation. Like always I check in with my fellow Trip Advisor friends to help me out with a great place to eat again they didn’t let me down. All 7 of us have had Philly Cheese steaks at the famous Pat’s and Geno’s in Philadelphia 2 of the top places to get Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and we all agreed that Doc’s can officially be grouped in with those 2 iconic land marks. One had the filet mignon Philly cheese steak which was me that was so awesome I wanted to order another one. 2 of the others had the Buffalo Philly cheese steak again it was awesome they said one of them thought it was so good he ordered another. My wife had the original Philly cheese steak and I usually get to finish what she can’t but not tonight she said it was so good that I was out of luck and she was gonna finish it on her own no matter what. One of us had a burger which was very good and we all shared a few orders of wings which were also delicious. All in all if you are in the Cherry Grove section of Myrtle Beach make this one of your stops for dinner you won’t be disappointed. I know we willbe going again before the end of vacation. Hint: go early Happy Hour starts when the doors open at 4 and goes till 7. It closes at 9 and they only take cash. Enjoy my fellow Unilocal friends

The meat is so tender! Not a bit of gristle and it melts in your mouth. The owner is friendly and does all the cooking right there. Champagne sangria was awesome and tasteful. The bacon coleslaw was a great new taste. The fries were cooked to perfection. If you don’t stop here you are missing out. I don’t think there is one thing on the menu that would disappoint you. They only take cash but you can afford the food! It gives Ruth Chris’ meat a run for the money for sure! We will be back and shout it from the roof top

The Filet Mignon Tips and Butterflied Fried Shrimp were excellent! Friendly service and excellent price point! Try the house made Horseradish dipping sauce and Buffalo Sauce!!!

So the sign here is hilarious that pretty much teaches you how to not be a crappy patron, which is much needed in South Carolina because people in that state can kinda suck sometimes to be truly honest. So the food was just perfect, we had the beef tips and got a burger and wings to go. Let me tell you… if this place was anywhere near I lived my wait line would be in some serious trouble. The price was so low that I almost asked what’s the catch? The only«catch» there is is that it is a cash only establishment which keeps the prices low so I can’t complain at all, and the store next door has an ATM if you didn’t read the other like 100 reviews, the website, the sign on the door,(you catch my drift)? Also, the wings were perfectly crispy and the burger was tender and perfectly seasoned. Summary: Eat here.

Cool little spot near the beach. The service is excellent, and the food comes out quick. The restaurant is very small, so it can fill up quick. Also, it is cash only. The hours can be a bit quirky, but they are posted clearly. The prices are reasonable, and I really like the wings. They are large and crispy.

This was a difficult review for me to write. First, I am always hesitant to give any place a negative review, because I realize I am affecting people’s livelihood. On the other hand, I also feel a responsibility to the people that read and rely on my reviews. So here goes… Ambiance and atmosphere… I felt like I was in a small neighborhood bar, down on the corner… clean, but nothing memorable or significant. Service…the waitress was friendly, tried hard, and performed adequately. Food…I would rate the food alone about a 7 out of 10. Served in plastic baskets, with plastic utensils and foam or plastic cups. Napkins were a roll of paper towels on the table. My wife had the Tips, and I had the Tips and Tails. Bar…my wife didn’t have a drink, but I ordered a Corona with a cold glass… was charged $ 3.50 for a can of beer and a plastic cup. Convenience…It was CASHONLY… no cards accepted, and the ATM is next door. Overall…not really bad, but not a place I would return. There are just better options for spending my dining dollars.

Ok, here’s the deal. I did come here based on Unilocal reviews, and tonight I was not impressed. Food: The gold wings are very good. In Fact, they were the highlight. Unilocalers rated them high, and if that’s what you’re looking for you will be pleased, but not overwhelmed. I love wings, so I feel I’m being very accurate here. I will say the«Famous Philly Style» sandwich made from their tips was unique and very good. The other food was average, and we sampled a lot with 16 people. Service: Average and accommodating is what was provided. Nothing special to note here. Atmosphere: The place was fine, 3 TVs, small bar, small location. Overall we were not disappointed, but would try other places. We did not need to buy a t-shirt, and in time this place will be forgotten.

Had a craving for steak while traveling solo and saw the sign for the filet tips. Loved ‘em. Good beer and friendly staff. Can’t beat the name!

Awesome place! The filet mignon Philly cheesesteak & my wife had the tips and shrimp, such a score! Left with 5 koozies and a full belly. Thanks Doc!

Fabulous Cheesesteaks Philadelphia style! Real Amoroso rolls and whiz too. They have other cheese options if you are not a whiz fan. If you are craving an authentic cheesesteak this is the place for you! It is a tiny place, only 5 tables and a bar. The service was very good and very friendly. I wasn’t that impressed by the wings, but the cheesesteaks make it a 5 star place!

The hut is as trashy as you might think, servers with what seems to be a mild case of severe autism forgot what I ordered and did not give me any refills of water. Food was subpar at best, every item on the menu could be found in a Walmart freezer section. Overall dont go here there are many better choices in North Myrtle.

When I visited North Myrtle beach last year, I loved this place. So when we visited this year, Doc’s Squirrel Hut was the first place to stop and eat. The place was busy and the staffs were still very welcoming and attentive as before. But I noticed some changes — additional menu with higher end ingredients(filet mignon strips on everything) and a fine print on the wall that says, «we charge 25 cents for tap water because it’s costing us to buy cups, straws, lemons, etc.» I assumed the Doc is a bit struggling running this place(sadly it is normal in restaurant business) and as long as customers are aware of it, it’s fine. My fiancé and I were so exhausted and dehydrated from long drive so we asked for water with our meals. The 25 cent tap water is iced in a Styrofoam cup but there were no lemon or straws. Well, I guess they ran out of them! And when I got my food, it was tasty as usual but I wanted more spice to it. So I asked a waitress if they had some hot sauce. She quickly brought what looked like their house wing sauce in a small plastic condiment cup(about 1.75″ wide, 1″ tall). It wasn’t a lot(less than half full) but it really made my chicken taste even better. When we were half way through the meal, she asked if we were ready for a check so we said sure. When we got the check though, I was unpleasantly surprised. We were being charged 65 cents for the hot sauce! Nor the waitress told me at the time or anything in the restaurant says, «hot sauce is extra $$$.» I did not know a hidden fee was a financially struggling restaurant thing nowdays. On top of that, my fiancé placed $ 30 over our check as our total came to a little big over $ 24. The waitress came back and said, «Are you guys good?» as she was taking the money. We remained silent for a second in shock because she wanted about 20% tip after the hidden hot sauce fee treatment we received. We asked for change, as it is what everyone else in the restaurant business would do without asking. We did leave some tip(exact 15%) and hurried out of there in disappointment. It is a restaurant 101, as my friend who works in the business would say, to notify a customer if anything extra they ask would cost and bring out change without asking. I will not come back here again after being treated this way & dissuading peers from coming to a place with this level of service.

A great find in Cherry Hill. Burgers were awesome but you have to try the filet tip Philly Cheesesteak… delicious. Service was fantastic. Hats off to the crew.

Simply stated… amazing!!! Super friendly folks and awesome food, hands down. We found this place due to Unilocal and must admit when we first pulled up sort of questioned… but so glad we visited now twice this week. Wings are out of this world… super crispy which so many places miss that mark. The Filet Philly rocked my world! I’m not a fan of the philly… but this one definitely set me straight! My husband had Doc’s burger which was delicious too. Bacon always makes everything better! A few cans of PBR to bring everything together and it was an awesome experience! Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you! Cheers :)

Wow. Great food. Great service. Friendly owners. Local color. If you are looking for a quick, casual, low key experience, look no further. We had cheesesteaks made with filet tips, onions and mushrooms. And if you’re like me and you think it’s all about the bread, they have a source that brings Amoroso rolls from Philly. Excellent!

Karen and Doc were gracious Thanksgiving night hosts! If you are lucky enough to encounter the steak tips on the menu– do NOT hesitate and order some for me! Carolina Gold is my new favorite for wings! Thank you for a laughter filled and belly fuller evening… go EAGLES!!!

We were warmly welcomed by staff, and promptly served! Food was excellent, and the Philly cheesesteak lived up to potential– an amoroso roll completed the authenticity! Got mine«wit» Only down fall– cash only. But, they have signs conveniently placed out front, so you are informed before entering. If you don’t have cash– there is a gas station right next door! We will definitely come back.

This is our sixth year in a row staying for a beach vacation in Myrtle Beach. Found this place on Unilocal and happy we did. Family of four found good food for everyone. Waitress was attentive and always filling our drinks. Really enjoyed the wings. The best I’ve had outside of Buffalo frankly.(See picture). Prices are very reasonable. Bottom line — great food, great staff and great all around. It is a small place but not to be overlooked. Five stars(and I am picky).
