Barefoot Landing

These are a lovely bunch of shops (approximately 100) that at first look similar to a group of single-​story homes. Much of the area has what appears to be a boardwalk theme going on, which included two wooden walkways that cross over a body of water integrating local wildlife into your shopping experience. While unsure about peak «beach» season, when we went at the end of February, there was ample parking. Most women will be happy to know that there are plenty of restrooms throughout the shopping complex (my husband believes that I have made it my personal mission to tour every ladies room in the US, but I know I’m not alone on this mission.)
We found a lovely array of businesses from the practical (Sunglass Hut) to those catering more to the tourist (? Rocks & clothing shops). You will also find a variety of appetizing restaurants should you decide to grab a bite to eat while on your shopping trip. On your trip you will encounter several stations whose prime goal is to get you to visit one of the local Windham resorts for a tour. If you enjoy this sort of thing, I fully encourage you to go, if not — simply thank them, let them know you’re not interested and move on.
One thing that I did find on our visit was that there were very few places to sit and rest so, this will be something to consider for those who are limited to distance/​time on their feet. However, if you think that you can manage this ok, then you simply MUST visit Sweet Molly’s Creamery for some of the most delicious treats you’ll find anywhere!

Be prepared to spend some time here. There are many small shops spread out over a large area. Thrown in are a few restaurants and small ice cream places. There are also two winery shops where you can sample the wines they sell. Some were very unusual. We also enjoyed the Christmas shop as it was primed for this time of year. We found quite a few souvenirs and other great gifts for friends and family while we were shopping. They had a store called the «Mancave» that had some really cool stuff.

This place has really gone downhill in recent years. I’ve always thought it was kind of a confusing layout; always feel like I’m overlooking some stores, because I just don’t see them. Seems to have more and more empty stores each year. Many of the current stores look like «flash stores;» as if someone just leased a space and just set up some random merchandise and called it a store. It’s a shame, because this is a great location and the general atmosphere with all the boardwalks is nice. Perhaps some new management could really bring this place back.

Great place to visit! Lots of cute shops and great places to eat! We ate a T Bonz and then walked around the rest of the night it was beautiful. Definitely something To check out! A lot of fun!

This place is o.k., except for all the Confederate flag stores! My advice is to drive down the street to the Outlet mall. The outlet mall has major sales. Every store had 50−70% off. The Wal-​Mart, Ross & Marshall’s and every other major store down the street. Go to the Outlet mall or go to Broadway on the Boardwalk.

My family hits up Barefoot Landing every year. There’s something for everyone!
There are stores that carry everything you can imagine… not just touristy souvenir stuff (although, there’s plenty of that as well!), ice cream shops, jewellery stores, restaurant’s, bars, candy stores… the list goes on and on.
It can be crowded at times, for sure. And sometimes parking is a pain. But it keeps everyone occupied for an hour or two and my family will continue to visit every year :)

Our family loves Barefoot Landing. From the drawbridge, to the golfing community, the restaurants and shops, this place is refreshing. Make sure you walk across between the shops and check out the monster carp and turtles stalk for food as you walk by.

Fun place to walk around and shop. Def visit the tiger and monkeys. They are so cute !

We went to a bunch of the little shops that were very nice. But really we were here for night life or to eat. We ate at Tbonz and Flying Fish. It was to die for ! Are service was fantastic. All 4 of us were completely satisfied.
To drink we went to House of Blues, Dicks, and Bully’s. Had a blast at each place. Will be returning!

Clean bathrooms, great shopping, good restaurants. This is a great place to shop and eat. It is located right on the water and has a abundance of unique shops.

Pretty neat place to visit while in Myrtle Beach. Several nice restaurants & specialty shops. I prefer Broadway at the beach, but this is nice also.

I have great memories from visiting Barefoot Landing on every trip to Myrtle Beach. It’s always a beautiful walk around and there are a few great spots. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of vacant storefronts and too many junky stores. Just about everything worth seeing is on the Highway 17 side of the mall vs. toward the Intracoastal Waterway. However, it is a nice walk along the Waterway.
Klig’s Kites, Christmas Mouse, and Umberto’s are really what keeps us coming back. Recently, we received great service at White House/​Black Market, but that’s a national chain store. I always like buying a bottled pop at the general store, too. Barefoot needs more fun, independent shops.
I miss when the alligators roamed freely in the water. There are still warning signs on the bridge. Have they all been quarantined in Alligator Adventure so that we have to spend more money to see the them? :(

Besides the crazy confusing parking lot we enjoy coming here to hang out. Typically we adventure here during bike week but enjoy going to Dicks.

We only went here to see the T.I.G.E.R. exhibit and shop a little. Parking is a little weird since you can’t see everything from the main road so we drove around confused a little while inside Barefoot landing.

Every time I go to Myrtle Beach I visit Barefoot Landing. This place as everything that as a tourist I like about Myrtle and the laid back atmosphere that you would hope for to get away from the party crowd.
Pros.: This place has a lot of fun wildlife like the Carp, Turtles and birds to spy on and feed as you walk around the peer like setting. The shops are varied and pretty much shoppers of any age weather you are in for a nice shopping trip or off hunting to bring a part of the beach back with you this is a good go. The crowds are not overly stifling and there are few instances of loud music or noise to scare you off. They even have fireworks most week nights. There are also activities such as the reptile walk a 5D theater and the Alabama theater to entertain you. One can easily spend the whole day here. I remember my girlfriend being resistant to going but we spend close to 4 hours here!
Cons: It can get hot and if you are not up for walking then this is not the place to go as it does take a lot of walking.
In the end I love this place and will go again next time.

Anything and everything here! Some original local shops as well as some national ones. Looking for a nice souvenir instead of the cheap stuff from the beachwear stores, you’ll find it.

I have been vacationing in Myrtle Beach for years and have always loved visiting Barefoot Landing. There used to be cute shops and a variety of restaurants. It seems now most of the shops are selling the exact same junk. You cannot walk through Barefoot without being heckled by a vendor selling airbrushed t shirts on the boardwalk or someone trying to sell you a timeshare. The shops used to carry unique items and now it is all 3 for 10 t– shirts, knock off sunglasses or pooka shell jewelry. Barefoot is remarkably clean and well maintained, it is fun to see the turtles swimming around. However, I am sad and the dumpy carnival direction it is taking.

While there are lots to do, my wife and I were very disappointed. It has been 7 years since our last trip Myrtle Beach and Barefoot Landing.
There are some nice stores, but for the most part it was «same cheap crap, different name». The stores and marketing to get new stores has really stalled. I hope it gets corrected before it turns into «Ghost town Landing».

Meh. the stores are upperscale type outlets. there are many souvenir shops, but the prices are a bit high for t-​shirts etc. There are lots of things to do here. all which will cost. plan on walking a lot!
