Our mission is to provide the most effective self-​defense instruction in the world by giving students the elements to defend themselves in real life, with no rules, no points, and no time limits. We teach jiu-​jitsu as a method of realistic self-​defense and personal development and not as a tournament sport. Our system has three main objectives. First, the system teaches the most powerful self defense method in the world as proven in the original Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC). Second, our system constitutes one of the most complete forms of exercise in existence. And third, it represents an incalculable moral and educational value.

History

Established in 1995.

Valente means brave in Portuguese, the native language of Gracie Jiu-​Jitsu. Therefore, Valente Brothers stands for brave brothers, representing the spirit of courage and camaraderie that pervades our academy. By becoming a part of Valente Brothers, you will join a tight knit family that is brought together by the common goal of becoming empowered through the practice of this ancient martial art perfected by Grand Master Hélio Gracie.

Valente Brothers is the official representation of Grandmaster Hélio Gracie in Florida. Professors Pedro, Gui and Joaquim Valente started training directly under the Grandmaster at the age of 2 years old and were his loyal disciples and protégés until he passed away in January of 2009. At Valente Brothers we are fully committed to preserving Hélio Gracie’s vision, teaching method, and ideals both on and off the mat.
