After more than a decade of great service, Custom Hearth actually «topped» my very high expectations!!! We bought a home to down size and prepare for retirement… I called and explained what I «wanted» and the extremely polite/​efficient office administrator set appointment; Blake (installer/​trouble shooter) was prompt, understanding, informative, and wouldn’t let me «waste» money on what I «wanted» instead he discussed an option that did more than I could have imagined, more efficient, space saving, more powerful, quieter, and «included» options that I was going to add later… Blake installed two «side mount» openers that are AWESOME! Our single car door has a room built in the garage… I was positive I’d never be able to have remote opener! Oh yes, I got way more than I wanted and actually saved money and tons of space! Thanks Kevin!!! Once again your office administrator and Blake provided great product, amazing technology, surpassing pricing, and outstanding customer service!!! I had a 30 year old wood and pressboard garage door that wasn’t working because of snapped cables and also was literally falling apart. Blake Hofmann was working on a neighbor’s garage door and since she was pleased with him I asked him to come over to my house a give me a quote. I hired him and he replaced the door and motor and cables with a new metal door in about four hours. He took away the old door and motor and brought over the new door and motor and also carried some junk from the garage to the curb since I had a broken arm. The new door works great, the price was reasonable, Blake was a pleasure to work with, and I was delighted he could do the whole job in four hours.

I am so unhappy with this company as a whole, not one person directly. My husband and I purchased a garage door from the Home Depot. We paid approximately $ 130-​$ 170 for installation through this company. Home Depot told my husband not to take the unit, that we would be contacted within 48 hours to set up installation. 4 days later!!! I contacted Home Depot and they said installation was set up for the next day, when I explained that I had never been contacted to set that date up, the HD employee said she would contact the installers. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from this company. I don’t know how HD and this company work together because neither one had any clue about the proper procedure for the installation. It was completely ridiculous!!! My husband had to go back to the store to pick up the opener. They weren’t able to make it until the following Monday (this was Friday). They came on Monday and, apparently, my husband wasn’t given all the pieces!!! Even after I called this company and the employee I talked to ASSURED me after talking to her GM that we had what we needed. I was at the end of my rope! When I spoke to them to, yet again, set up an installation… I was assured that I wouldn’t have to wait the wonderful 4 hour waiting period as I had 2 classes and then work. Again, a promise broken… when I was signing off on the paperwork, there were notes referring to us as the «unhappy customers»!!! I’m shocked that that seems appropriate to them. Customer service, product knowledge and installation procedures not this company’s strong suit which is sad because it’s supposed to be exactly what they do… NEVER do business with them!

My fireplace had not worked for a couple years. I called Custom Hearth & Door to set up a service call. I spoke to John. He couldn’t be any nicer, knowledgeable and accommodating. He said he could run me thru the mechanics on the phone and it worked — it started ! My hat is off to him and Custom Hearth & Door. Thank you.

I read the two bad reviews but took a chance anyway as my gas fireplace wasn’t working and they were basically the only referenced repair center for Lennox fireplaces. My technician was Pete. A very polite, friendly sort who donned the clean booties to enter the house. He expeditiously and thoroughly troubleshot my problem, and had the fireplace up and running in about 45 minutes. The standard service fee applied (fair) and I would highly recommend this company.
