Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park

We have camped here for over 10 years with friends. This year was a big disappointment and we will not be coming back. They have expanded so much and pack people in like sardines, but do not maintain anything at the campsite. Our cabin had a cupboard door that was missing, nothing was stocked in the kitchen. It’s way to expensive to pay for a cabin that is literally falling apart.

This campground has a lot to offer families. That being said be prepared for it to be BUSY! Long lines at check-​in, long lines at the store, long lines at the Hey, Hey, Hey rides, no chairs available at the water park, pool or beach. BUT don’t be afraid of the long lines, just be prepared. We took our own chairs where they were needed and tried to never be in a hurry.
Also, we didn’t care for our site W1. It’s at the bottom of hill and was honestly to small for trailer. (32 footer). It was very difficult to level at this site. In addition, cars constantly sped by our site and around the turn. It would have nice if they enforced the 5 mph speed limit. A speed bump or two would do wonders there. Luckily our children are old enough that they understood they were to never play around the corner. Kids were also wiping out on bikes around our corner everyday.
PROS-​tons of stuff for the kids. The water park is awesome. The kids loved the kayaks and canoes (doesn’t cost extra), friendly staff, clean campground, MOST of the bathrooms were great, nice playgrounds, basketball court, gaga ball, laser tag, pedal carts and a great mini golf course! The best I’ve seen at a campground. Also, they have great food! I didn’t feel like cooking one night so we ordered and the pizza was delicious.
CONS– our site, but there are PLENTY of great sites. The front bathroom is gross. My kids actually got out of the pool the one time they went in because the water smelled (I thought it smelled like pee). :(. But don’t forget, they have the water park and beach that are awesome. If you don’t like the ‘country,’ the smell of cows/​manure could get to you. A loaf of bread in the camp store is $ 4. What? The laundry room could use updated equipment. The lack of speed bumps down our road.
We would definitely return but at a different site.

Well. add 1 Rv (28ft classA) 3 adults 3 grandchildren (7,7, 6, yrs old) 1 other Rv (38 classA) and another adult with the camp ground… what do you get?! … GOOD TIMES! even though it rained the last 2 days (last weekend in june). We all still loved it! Here’s a hint though. rent or bring a golf cart! AS a fat granpa it was easier rolling down the hills than than walking up!! LOL

It is a cartoon themed, commercially run camping resort. Tent sites run about 120 $ for two nights putting it on the expensive side, but the waterpark, putt-​putt, swimming pools, kayaks, etc help soften the blow. The extra activities happen hourly, some are free, some are not. Our site was spacious, but when you walk the park you’ll notice that that is a rarity. Most tents and rvs are lined up almost on top of one another. Quiet after hours and clean… seems well managed overall.

I thought that this was a pretty nice place, especially for families with kids. We went with the granddaughters and they loved it here, with lots of activities, good pool and water park, and a great, friendly staff. The sites were small, but we were escorted to our site and it was easy to back the 32 ft RV into a pretty level site. A crummy fire pit with no grate, the sewer connection was at a higher level than our outlet, but the electric poles were great, water tasted good, pressure was right up there, and they have a scheduled garbage pickup!
There was only a very few shower facilities, they were clean, however, so the wife came back and showered in the Greyhawk.
Nice people, lots of golf carts driving around, no bad dogs or rowdies around, and the quite time was great.
We will probably go back with the kids.

Top 10. reasons to go to Jellystone Park
1. If you like to spend around $ 1200 for your family vacation for 3 nights. Not including food. This includes a cabin that leaks something (don’t know what) — so the ground around your steps will always be super wet.
2. If you like to pack up everything you own for a 3 night vacation. I mean EVERYTHING.
This includes breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, drinks, marshmallows, firewood, a grill, charcoal, lighter fluid, coffee maker, coffee, paper plates, plastic forks, knives, spoons, cooking utensils, bowls, pots, toilet paper, flashlights, garbage bags, cleaning spray, towels, washcloths, dish soap, sunscreen, beach towels, blankets, sheets, pillows… And tons more.
3. If you like to fish in a «so-​called» lake that largely resembles a mud puddle.
4. If you enjoy waking up to loud neighbors yelling about how they want their sausage cooked. This is especially fun when they have about 17 – 29 people (exceeding the cabin limit).
5. If you don’t mind cabins that are about 2 feet away from each other. your basically vacationing with strangers. Please note: don’t walk out on your porch unless appropriately dressed.
6. Go here if you love screaming kids, there are lots of them.
7. If you like dirty swimming pools that are filled with kids’ pee — and dirty band aids and clumps of hair floating around (see picture)
8. If you like places that are entirely run by teenagers, with no security.
9. If you love it when there are 8 million flies in your cabin and they constantly land on you and buzz in your face as though they are pissed off.
10. If you would like to visit the «animal torture playground» where lots of evil little kids catch and torture toads.
