Specialties

Buffalo Audubon Society promotes the appreciation and enjoyment of the natural world through education and stewardship. We focus on Western New York and the Great Lakes region.

Come visit us and enjoy miles of forested trails in our center and preserves, across Western New York, open from dawn to dusk every day. Visit our Beaver Meadow Audubon Center where you’ll find exhibits, a natural history library, and places to watch birds up close.

Learn about birds, wildlife, and conservation issues through classes, lectures, and programs. Volunteer to help others learn too!

Explore our gift shop, where you’ll find books, binoculars, bird feeders, gifts, and friendly people to answer your nature questions.

Buffalo Audubon is proud to work with the Western New York Environmental Alliance and numerous partners to protect and promote the habitats and environments of Western New York — places where you can enjoy nature and wildlife and where habitats are protected. Places like Allenberg Bog near Little Valley in Cattaraugus County, Klydel Wetlands in North Tonawanda, and our Beaver Meadow Audubon Center and Preserve in North Java.

History

Established in 1909.

Buffalo Audubon was founded over 100 years ago by a group of conservationists. We are now a diverse community that stands together to protect Western New York’s beautiful birds, wildlife and habitat and to educate the next generation of nature lovers and environmental stewards.
