My daughter received 1340 on her SATs. Please read the fine print on the money back guarantee; they will replace your tutor if you are not satisfied within the first two sessions. They do not guarantee higher test scores. My daughter’s tutor was always tardy to the sessions and was smug enough to say, «It’s not about your daughter’s performance. It’s about the process. I feel I can get her in the high 80%.» To my understanding, the tutors get paid upfront so he or she may not be fully invested throughout the later sessions. Towards the last sessions the tutor would show up late, play video games while my daughter took prep exams and leave early instead of spending more tutoring hours like we agreed upon.
I hope this helps. My daughter is a senior I high school so she doesn’t get another chance:(

I have had a wonderful experience tutoring with varsity tutors. The interview process was very thorough. I felt they really wanted to make sure I had the skills and qualifications to tutor mathematics. Once I passed the phone and virtual interview I was promptly given instructions as to how the process of matching students and tutors worked. The qualifications of the tutor are matched with the students needs, and the tutor can then meet with the family to make sure it is a good match. The process of entering sessions online is quite easy, and with varsity tutors prompt direct deposit my payments come in every two weeks.
The one thing that stood out to me about varsity tutors was that any time I had a question or comment the staff was always very prompt to help. I could tell that they really cared what my thoughts were and they wanted to make sure I was thoroughly educated on how the company ran. The staff are always very nice and helpful, anytime I make a call or send an email.

I really wanted to try their service, the first person I spoke to told me i can try 6 classes but then I was told no — you have to pay for 9 classes in advance — about $ 600 that is before even trying one class which made me feel uncomfortable, when I asked about it I was told (with a bit of a condescending scolding tone) that they decided that I am just not interested and that the program doesn’t fit me.
I was expecting a bit more flexibility, appreciation to a customer and a customer’s voice and maybe a bit more kindness.

Honestly, I have had such a great experience with my LSAT prep from Varsity Tutors. My tutors name is David and he is a gift from God himself, he’s so detailed and patient and knows exactly what he’s talking about so he can explain everything in a way where I understand. He also is very nice, he brought me pencils and fruit from his tree lol! If you are looking for an LSAT I’d recommend Varsity Tutors and specifically David if you’re in his area.

My son was struggling in math and reading. I had worked with him, his father had worked with him, we’d even had «his favorite uncle» try, and it wasn’t just that he wasn’t improving, he wasn’t even interested. When I found Varsity Tutors I was worried that it would be more of the same. Even after our first meeting with Lindsay I still wasn’t sure if it was going to get us anywhere. Just one month (ONE MONTH!) later his scores are up across the board and he’s EXCITED to meet with her. Even better, when my husband and I work with him between sessions he wants to work with us!
