Tacos Manzano

We love Tacos Manzano. Our favorites are the al pastor tacos, the chile relleno and the tamales. The chile relleno is the best we’ve had — the sauce is perfect, the cheese is super fresh and the batter dipped chile is delicious. The fresh tamales are not just about the corn. This is not a fancy place but you will find great food at a very affordable price.

The salsa bar is back but it’s now located in the inside room.

A plus, this place is open until midnight! Another plus, the staff is nice. However the parking lot was small. Prices are good. Except when i went with my friends & boyfriend, my friends complained that their meat on their tacos seemed… off. But that’s them. My tacos were good. I just wish they offered more chips because they were so good. Come here if you need food, especially since there isn’t a lot of restaurants open at this time. Plus they offer take out!

Amazing ! Fo sho! Man o man!!! Got the enchiladas and was very satisfied! Tacos were on point too! Yummy! They got my vote! Don’t judge a book by its cover! Looks like a whole in the wall but the food is great!!!

1 $ taco tuesday — All day? Yeah am in.
I’ve been wanting to try this local joint and glad I did. Came in for a takeout and was greeted by a friendly older man behind the counter.
Ordered tacos, carne asada combo, and a chicken mole tamale.
Sat in the dinning area while waiting for the order. TV showing a telenovela. I really need to brush up on my Spanish.
Now the food.
First off the meats were well marinated. And I rarely eat any of the refried beans that comes with mexican meals because it tends to be bland. Not theirs, flavorful and taste homemade. The tamale itself is okay, wrapped in banana leaves, though there was only a hint of mole taste.
The décor and furnishing can be updated, but then again, the food is worth it. Will definitely be back.

Super long overdue review being that my boyfriend and I are regulars here. We can’t say enough great things about Tacos Manzano. The customer service is always amazing; they are friendly and won’t ever make you wait longer than what is fair. They offer you samples of champurrado on cold nights while you wait. Trust me when I say that the quality is never compromised by their sense of urgency to get you fed. They food is always fresh, well priced and frankly, beyond delicious. Burrito or quesadilla is always a good way to go. Quality ingredients throughout. Really a good place to get a Mexican fix if what you like is flavorful food. Salsa bar is always fresh and squeaky clean. And the green salsa, can they sell those in bulk?! One day… A girl can dream.

Tacos were cheap and okay in taste. The tacos al pastor were a bit too sweet for my liking and the tripas were too crunchy. The green salsa was good but the red one tasted like Lucas. The horchata and champurado were delicious! The restaurant open late is a plus!

My new favorite Mexican Restaurant. Finally I found true mexican food that you dont end up feeling heavy. Everything is so yummy. The place is really clean and cozy. I had the pleasure to meet the owner and she is lovely, great costumer service. I highly recommend this place.

Really good carne asada fries (but you gotta say extra cheese.) I haven’t tried much else but you have to be REALLY into this kind of food — they do all the weird meats and it smells a little gamey and greasy inside.

Came here with my cousin and the girl with the green eyes is super friendly and even gave us an overview of the menu since we had never been here before. We got a decent size wet burrito and 4 tacos with two Gatorade drinks for 16.40! Great price. The environment is calm and the neighbor hood outside is decent. Will most likely come here again!

Want real tacos? Go to a taco stand, fresh meat, and the al pastor is cooked right in front of you. This place was okay, the lady who took my order was really nice.
I took it to go but inside looks very nice.

The food is really good. Prices are reasonable and everything seems home made. The burritos are my favorite. The salsas are GREAT too! It’s pretty awesome how it’s walking distance.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican/​Latin food, this is the place!

Came here for menudos, very disgusting, there was so many black pig hair on the meat. I don’t even want to say anything else because I feel like barfing. Disgusting

Hands down, best Latin cuisine in the Valley. I pride myself on eating way too much Mexican food, in fact, I often joke that I could live off nothing but Mexican food for every meal for the rest of my life.
Tacos Manzano is a must try for anyone that loves Latin cuisine. Their oaxacan twist on the traditional Mexican dishes is well executed and is very refreshing for someone who eats as much of this type of food as I do.
I would highly recommend trying their cheese enchiladas. They use queso fresca in place of the usual cheddar or mozzarella. The queso fresca paired with their homemade oaxacan enchilada sauce makes it my favorite enchilada plate north of the border.
I have been frequenting this spot for years. Staff is friendly, prices are reasonable and they will gladly fry you up some fresh Jalapeños upon request.

Taco Tuesday destination… Shhhh… Dont tell anyone. $ 1 tacos of great flavor and different salsas to choose from? Yes, pls. I got 2 carne asada, 2 al pastor and 2 carnitas tacos. Some green salsa and I was good to go. The al pastor was my favorite as it had really good flavor. You can taste sweetness of the pineapple in the meat. So good and flavorful. I like the asada too. It had good flavor and made for a great taco. The carnitas was just ok. I was expecting more flavor from it and it just didnt have that. I probably would just stick to the asada and al pastor in the future.
My friends told me about this place as it reminded them of a taco truck from our high school days in Burbank called Pipiripau. RIP… I havent had a burrito from Tacos Manzano yet but I will soon, then I can accurately compare it to the flavors I remember from back in the day.
Service was quick and friendly. Know what you want to order before you step to the counter. There is a decent sized dining room (eclectically decorated) but they do a lot of take-​out service. So… dont hold up the line! Ha! Order and pay at the counter. Dine-​in patrons pick up their food from the window. Take-​out customers wait for your name/​order to be called out. Some parking available in the small shared lot with a liquor store and another business. Otherwise, it’s street parking. There are also a few tables in an enclosed outside patio.

In LA on vacation and picked up some food for dinner. After reading the reviews, I was expecting something good. Didn’t happen. Ordered the carne asada dinner for me, chile relleno dinner for my wife and some tacos for my grandmother.
The carne asada was terrible. Tough, too salty and not very flavorful. The rice was a super small portion and was just ok. The refried beans were slightly better. I did have a buche taco that was tasty, but that was it.
My wife said her relleno was ok, but her rice was undercooked! She had an al pastor taco that she enjoyed, but that was it.
My grandmother had carne asada tacos and rice. She didn’t like either, complaining that it was very bland.
There you go. Not a good trip.

Holy mole guacamole. I just like saying that for some reason.
I was working close by and looked for something close. We found Tacos Manzo with a great Unilocal 4 star rating. This place is a small hole in the wall joint that actually has a seating area with great character. You order from the menu both listed behind the cashier and on a big screen tv.
Mole caught my eye. Love me some mole so I chose the chicken mole plate that came with rice, beans and handful of tortilla chips. The chicken drumsticks with skin on was very tender. Rice and beans were just okay. The mole sauce could of used some work. I’m not used to tangy mole sauce. I like mine with a hint of sweetness and some spice which this lacked.
I’ll have to come by and try some other dishes. This place has a fly problem which need to be taken care of. Not that bad but still a few can be bothersome. Hope, they didn’t get on my food.
Parking here is tight with diagonal parking angling the opposite direction of traffic. As you back in you’ll be facing the opposite side of traffic. Best to do a 15 point turn to be safe.
