Rude and unprofessional staff and establishment. They are more concerned with profit than they are their food quality and service. There are a handful of great Indian restaurants in a few mile radius. Save the trouble and check one of those out. Walk by and the lack of customers is proof.

So this was my first Indian cuisine experience, and I must say it was amazing! The food was delicious and I truly felt like I was in my own little Indian temple eating amazing food! GREATPLACE !!! I highly recommend The : Onion bhaji Vegetable biryani Garlic basil Naan And the chicken Tika massala(I think that’s how you spell it…) Food is very flavorful and portions are great. The staff is very friendly and courteous. PARKINGLOCATEDBEHINDTHERESTAURANT.

Delivery was quick, hot, and delicious! I’ve eaten at the restaurant, as well, and I have never been disappointed. I love the iced tea and paneer masala. Wonderful!

I have gotten Salomi a number of times take it and this was my first time eating in. The staff was friendly and attentive. The dining room appeared neat but I’m not sure how deeply clean it is. The food is probably in my top three of Indian places in LA — so I will keep coming here for that but I think(as with most Indian places) it’s probably better to just get takeout and not have to worry about smelling like curry or seeing dirt.

So let me start off by saying the food was pretty damned good but the service was terrible. My friend wanted to celebrate the festival of light today with some authentic Indian food to remind her of home so we ordered take out. I walk in to the very empty restaurant(only one table) and the serving basically just stares at me like I’m a total piece of shit and walks to her table to check in. I wait at the bar for a few minutes until she walks up to me and just says«yes?». I tell her I’m getting pickup and she walks off to ring me up. After a few minutes she comes back with my food and my check and just stares at me disapprovingly while I sign. Again the food was decent and I recommend take out but I’ll never done in or take anyone here. I’ve been living in the area for a few months now and eat out fairly often because they’re so many healthy options and this is the first negative experience I’ve had. If you’re just getting take out I’d definitely consider this place but if you’re going out with a group of friends definitely go literally anywhere else.

I have been coming here for years and is consistently the best Indian food in town. They have the best Shrimp Poori appetizer and one of the few places that have onion chutney

Horrible. A group of us dined here on Sunday night and it was not a good experience. Customer service is non-existent. We sat around for over 20 minutes before we were able to flag somebody down to take our order. It took another 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive and it was over an hour before our food arrived.(The waiter said it was slow because it was so «busy»… there were 6 tables!!!) You would hope the food would be worth the wait, but the portions were tiny and every dish tasted the same. I’ve had better Indian food from Trader Joe’s. Did we get anything for our troubles? A free salad, some chips and chutneys(which most other Indian places give anyway), comped naan — hell, a freaking mint at the end of the meal? NO, BUTHEREARESOMEPAPERMENUSNEXTTOYOURCHECKWEDODELIVERY. Life is precious. Don’t bother wasting any of it here.

Worse Indian food I’ve ever had. These guys wouldn’t know what Indian food is if hit it them on their face. I am Indian and grew up eating Indian food. Whoever is giving this place 5 stars don’t know Indian food. The veggie samosas were bland, just some potatoes no peas and missing the spices. The chicken dish I ordered was bland and had no flavor to it. Not single item was cooked well, even the Naan’s were awful. To top it all off the AC was off and it’s 97 degree’s outside. Spare your money buy a hotdog next door. This is an embarrassment to Indian food.

Ordered out from here last week, it was a disappointing meal. The chicken tikka masala was super bland. Not spicy at all, just tasted like chicken in tomato sauce. Also ordered Aloo Gobi, the flavor was really good but way over cooked. When I put my fork into the potatoes and cauliflower, they fell apart. Aside from that the raita, naan and rice were good.

The tandoori prawns were Delish! Onion nan, samosa, veg kofta, rice and a 22oz Taj Mahal. Very very good. My son said its the best Indian he’s ever had.

I ordered here and had a very unpleasant experience. Why charge 12 $ for a dish where it’s 70% sauce and then have the audacity to charge extra for rice? Who does that?! a near $ 40 meal with pathetically small portions on top of a rude lady on the phone who hung up on me ?? Not ordering from this place again. also it gave me and my friend diarrhea. So yeah, really excellent!

The food is okay but a bit to pricey for the price you pay the portion was kinda small didn’t have to much meat in my dish mostly sauce. Food took long even though it was empty at the moment. But other than that the inside of the restaurant looks nice and the service was okay.

I was first introduced to Indian food at this restaurant. It was amazing so I sought to explore different Indian places across LA. I never matched the superior taste that this place has. It is my all-time favorite Restaurant in all the world. I’ve ordered the Chicken Jalfrezi. Here it is a saucy dish with bell peppers and vegetables. I order it spicy. The chicken is all white meat and perfectly cooked and never dry. I am in absolute lust with their Tamarind and Mint Sauces. I’ve tasted every other Indian place sauces and Zero can match what this place creates!!! I want them to bottle them and sell them. I could live off their Naan bread and sauces alone for the rest of my life!!! Which btw, is the best Naan bread I’ve ever come across anywhere. They taste similar to my grandmothers homemade flour tortillas, but it’s in bread form. I’ve tried the garlic and cheese Naan too but the plain is so good I don’t like to ruin it with other ingredients. The atmosphere is very relaxing and I don’t feel rushed when I’m here. It has served as a great romantic place for dates as well as intimate birthday dinners, and just catching up with close friends and relatives. They serve Indian beer with their selection, and have a great menu for wine as well. It’s a family owned restaurant and the staff is all originally from India and I luv hearing their stories on life and love. Yes, it’s a luxury for me to dine here as it is beyond my budget, but it’s always a treat when it happens. Everyone I’ve taken here has a luv affair with it as well. It’s my go to place, even after I moved out of the NOHO area. Highly recommended!

This place doesn’t get a ton of love or word of mouth, but it’s radical. Everything is fantastic. Not over-priced. Tandoori is finger-licking good. Lots of dishes to choose from, and while the standard dishes(kormas, masalas, samosas) are all great, I recommend branching off and trying something new here, because it is going to be satisfying and you can order with confidence knowing that the new dish you try is going to be worth the adventure/risk. Good place for lunch for kids cuz it’s never crowded and there’s plenty of room.

Finally, an Indian restaurant I would be a regular at. It is not easy finding a good Indian restaurant, especially near your house! Plus, this place delivers! We gave Salomi a try last night and ordered the vegetable pakora, naan, chicken masala and the shrimp vindaloo Their masala and vindaloo were very tasty! Everything was sooo good we had to order another round of naan. We decided to try the garlic naan and it came fresh and hot. I walked by this restaurant quite a bit and glad we finally decided to stop in. We will be back soon for sure! Oh and they do serve wine by the glass too not just the bottle as their online menu states. And as to the comments from everyone else. The staff is a tiny bit slow on service and portions are on the smaller side. But, don’t let those two minor things deter you from giving this place a try! Definitely a must.

We went in with a large group, the hostess was very accommodating and it was sort of spotty from then on. It did take a long time for the food to arrive. I had the Korma and it was about 80% sauce and 20% protein. I filled up on rice and naan, each ordered separately. I guess East Indian food is predominantly grain and sauce. The sauce also being very greasy as another reviewer mentioned. The only redeeming quality was the fact that the sauce tasted really good but who knows it might’ve been out of a can. It was almost $ 20 for this little experiment. My business is better spent somewhere else. $ 12+ for sauce and a few bits of meat $ 2 for 1 piece of naan $ 2+ for 1 plate of basmati rice

First off, a very friendly staff. They are very hands-on, which provides a lovely service experience and they really want you to enjoy the dishes. The décor probably hasn’t changed in 30 years, so get ready for a rather dim, dated ambiance, but you come for the food — which is quite good. Tamarind sauce — pungent, tasty, strong; much better than the(local) competition. Mint sauce — pungent, strong; too strong, in fact, for the nice light ‘crackers’ they provide free at the table. Garlic naan — fresh and crisp, yet soft in the middle. Probably the perfect naan. Sauteed mushrooms — suitable; nothing special. Egg fried rice — basmati with generous chunks of egg. A bit dry but overall very good. Lamb pasanda — a bit too minty for my taste but a quality dish. Chicken makhani — probably the best Indian dish I’ve tried in a half decade. Delicate, rich, smooth, cravably delicious. Was thinking about this for days afterwards. Overall, a fine pleasure of a restaurant and I’m glad we finally checked it out after living in the area for six years.

Well the customer service was very good when I first arrived. The lady greeted me with a warm welcome and seated me. However that was about it. The order I placed was a carry out order and I had placed it on a hot day. I waited and waited and was handed a bill but never once was asked if I would like a glad of water while I waited. They just kept coming back around looking at the check and telling me, «no rush, when ever you are ready.» Personally, I think they should’ve at least asked me if I wanted anything to drink. My order arrives and I take it home… Only to find 5LITTLE chunks of cubed meat in my tiki masala. After paying around 40.00 for two orders I was a little irritated. So I gave them a call and the man on the other line explained that’s exactly how it is served!!! He then says I can come in next time and it will be on the house. Well that’s a nice Gesture and all but we were hungry now. I told him I’d rather pick up another order. He then proceeds to tell me, «no problem, I’ll add 4 more chunks of meat.» REALLY!!! I took the time to stop by and pick up the order myself and now I have to go pick another order of 4SMALLCHUNKS of meat again?!! That’s how you accommodate your customers?! Wow! I told him it was unacceptable and wanted at least what I had paid for. He finally said okay and to pick it up in 20 min. Not exactly thrilled with this place to say the least! ***** Btw if you want a good restaurant in the Noho area with free delivery, go to ROBINA’S on burbank blvd or another good dine in would be La Mirch in studio city. I would have gone there today but they are both closed on Sunday’s ******

Upon entering this particular restaraunt, there is a feeling of un-coziness. It’s rather large dining room and setup just feels a bit on the cold side for me. The chairs are rigid and tall backed and the whole ambience reminds me of those certain friends or family houses that I would go to as a kid where they had plastic on everything. You know the ones, where the living room was only used for very special guests. It all just seems awkward and a bit uncomfortable. I felt really embarrassed when I got several drops of masaIa sauce on the freshly ironed linen tablecloth. I guess the upside is the cleanliness, sterility even. As for the food, it has always been wonderful. I have been for both the lunch buffet and dinner. The food was tasty and flavored well. I felt the portions were a bit on the small side. The staff there seem extremely serious about it all and I don’t know… it’s food. I would definitely go again, especially for the lunch buffet deal. I certainly wouldn’t take my kids here in the evening. You’re welcome! If you’re looking for a serious and possibly romantic night out, this could be your place. If you’re looking to get past first base, you may want to go somewhere a little less uptight.

It’s walking distance from my house which was awesome at first — but now that I have a slight addiction — I can’t say the same. I am in this restaurant almost every other day. The employees are very nice. The restaurant has a cool vibe. Prices are average. I always order the Chana Sag & Onion Bhaji Enjoy!
