Lankershim Food Mart

I’m moving so I guess I feel like posting about my experience here… Once upon a time on their old school cash register my charge was $ 12.37… They went over to their little old school machine to swipe my card and charged me $ 1237.00… (+their debit fee…) That was fun. & a huge pain in the ass to deal with…
Day after tomorrow will be 2016 & these people need to update their business… If you don’t pay attention they will nickel & dime the fuck out of you or get an extra 50 cents or dollar from you… I always just let it go. but looking back on my few years going here it’s bullshit because they’ve taken a lot of money from people illegally. Most of the people who work there are nice but still ripping people off is bullshit. I understand we all need to get by but whatever. & your pictures of famous people on the wall is real cheesy. I believe they use the being nice or small talk to rip you off. They need to get a new register & card machine. Pay attention to your charges because they’ll throw on an extra dollar or etc if you aren’t paying attention… They also won’t tell you about the debit fee &/​or will double it if you really aren’t paying attention.

All of the workers here are really nice quick stop to buy anything you need they have plenty of selection…

Although you probably don’t want to admit it, you’ve probably spent some of your time watching some car crash television programming. What is «car crash TV»? Those shows such as Maury Povich, Jersey Shore, Teen Mom, and other similar entertainment which are like bad car crashes: you shouldn’t look but you can’t help it. Well, drop those bag of potato chips and get off the couch because at Lankershim Food Mart, you can experience all that crazy fun in person.
Lankershim Food Mart is a small convenience store in the Noho «Arts District». It is small, with a tiny parking lot, doesn’t offer the selection of a 7-​Eleven, no one has won the lottery here, and prices are somewhat steep on the usual convenience store binges like chips, soda, or Pop Tarts. However, one can find very random items (such as ethnic goods or fruit) which can bring a drunken laugh during those late might hours. Plus, the owner is always all smiles. Seriously, he is always in a great mood!
The best part, though, is simply the environment. The crazies of NoHo gather here. In one trip you can encounter a couple fighting over who their baby daddy is, teen skateboarders trying to pester people for change, gross couples making out, perhaps a drug deal, trannies dancing… you name it. Yes you may find this this disturbing or even frightening; but it is certainly better than TV!
In all honesty, Lankershim Food Mart isn’t the best convenience store out there and there are several 7– Elevens or liquor stores nearby. However, located within walking distance of my apartment (and my go-​to for exchanging cash into quarters for laundry); Lankershim Food Mart provides a story for the day if nothing else. Be prepared with your cell phone’s camera: you may have the next Youtube hit!

Owner is cool… Lots of stuff to buy here at reasonable prices…
Be careful parking is tight so you can subject your car to lots of dings :)

As far as late night food marts go, this one hits all the right notes. I come here with my boyfriend frequently on domestic weekends.
Ice cream, cookies, soda, alcohol, energy drinks, chips, cereal, milk, ibuprofen, aspirin, bathroom supplies… everything you could possibly need is sold here.
Independently owned and operated by a couple cool dudes that I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know a tad.
The location is a great benefit to me because I can walk there, but the parking situation on that corner is just out of control.
