I want to know why my review is listed under ‘not recommended’? Considering that all the ‘not recommended’ reviews for Emmanuel are 5. He is a small business and a Total Professional. I’ve never had better, faster more competent service. It’s a shame that Unilocal isn’t representing the true ratings from his customers.

I just moved to North Hollywood and was trying to get my thermostat installed. When I called and asked pricing, the first thing he said was«I don’t service your area.» I asked why it shows he’s based in North Hollywood, and he once again said«I don’t service your area. You’re calling from Anaheim.» I tried telling him I moved from the OC and he hung up on me. So rude, don’t bother going with such a unprofessional jerk!

Emmanuel is a pro. I waited a few months to write this review. I wanted to make sure his work stood the test of time. After 3 months my AC and Heater work great! I found him on Craigslist, so I was a bit skeptical at first, but Emmanuel gave me a quote and kept his word. He drove out pretty far to work on my house and I appreciate the effort. He is a very nice guy with great manners. I recommend him highly.

Emmanuel moved my entire furnace /blower unit from inside a closet in the hallway up into the attic. I am very happy with his job, and would highly recommend him as an HVAC technician. The details: My furnace blower unit is located inside a hall closet, and is very loud(I live in a 1960 ranch house). The vents for air intake are located in the hallway and living room, and when the natural gas burners ignite and furnace blower kicks in, it sounds SO loud — like an aircraft taking off. My solution was to move the entire unit up into the attic. I checked Craigslist and found Emmanuel and called him up. He came out and surveyed my problem, and gave me a quote, which I thought was very reasonable. I also spoke to him about his experience and other issues he’s contended with and I felt comfortable hiring him to do the job. It was the best decision I made. Emmanuel’s attitude and approach to the job is very ‘can-do’, and he seems to enjoy what he does, offering up creative solutions or ideas I may not have thought of. He is very talented and experienced, and can probably solve whatever your problem is. To solve my particular problem, Emmanuel laid down a pad of plywood in the attic, added supports that were topped with a 1″ layer of hard rubber to absorb vibration, laid the unit on top of these supports, then ran electrical and gas lines to the unit’s new location and screwed and bolted everything down. He then installed a condensation ‘tray’, a pump to remove the condensation, two water drainage pipes, new air ducting, and changed my air return vents to two different locations in the house and capped them with new, nice-looking vents. It took a little over 3 days and two guys to do this. I’d say that I got a better result from Emmanuel’s hard work and craftsmanship than if I had gone to a licensed and bonded HVAC guy. And he didn’t give the hard upsell to buy a new unit, nor did he give me the ‘it has to be replaced’ line. Overall, Emmanuel is an honest and trustworthy HVAC technician who runs his own company after working for the larger corporate HVAC companies for years(where he got his experience). I will call him again if I have an HVAC problem in the future.

Emmanuel was a great find on Craigslist. At first I was a bit reluctant because after all it was craigslist, but Emmanuel carried himself professionally and came at the exact time he was scheduled. I asked if he could call me on my cell prior to arriving at my doorstep and he did just that, called me to let me know he was on his way. I live in a condominium, so my AC unit was located outside but my condensing unit was located inside my condo. The condensing unit(inside my condo) was leaking down into my floor. Once Emmanuel arrived he had a few theories on what could be the problem. My first impression I thought to myself was I hope this isn’t like taking my car to a mechanic to fix a squeaky sound, spend $ 400.00 and the sound is still there 2 weeks later. I know we’ve ALL been through that and I couldn’t afford to that here with my AC unit. But later as Emmanuel began getting his hands dirty and asking questions on where my piping drain ran to and started asking more and more questions I began to realize he was very adamant on finding the solution to the problem. During the middle of the appointment my roommate asked if I could meet him in an hour… I was beginning to have doubts if I was going to get my unit fixed at all that day because he was still searching for the problem. But Emmanuel kept asking more questions and eventually he figured out it was my drainage that was backing up and causing the leak. Once he figured out the problem, he had a helping hand with him(they speak Spanish and I didn’t mind) and worked together on finding where my drainage lead to outside that was causing the clog. He realized my pipes lead underground, so he cut the pipes so that the water could just drain outside and there would be no clog. This fixed the problem and now I feel very confident running my AC for long periods at a time. Thinking back now, he could’ve just charged me for just draining my pipes and moved along to his next appointment… but he didn’t. He stood until the job was done and solved. I appreciate that. He cleaned up very nicely didn’t leave a mess and left me his business card, I hope that I won’t have to call him again of course, but if I ever do have another issue with my AC/Heating unit I’ll call him back for his services. Pricing: I believe the pricing was more than fair, I actually gave $ 10 extra just as a tip and he was only there a little over an hour. Now I did notice at times he would try to sell me on safety features that could be installed so that if the clog would return my unit would be salvaged. I know up selling bothers some people, but that didn’t bother me… I didn’t mind that. Anywhere and EVERYWHERE you go everyone tries to sell you on something that we «should» have but not necessarily«need». So I don’t fault him for trying and explaining that I’d be better off with safety switches he wanted to install. To be quite honest, I agreed with him on the things he wanted to install, and would have if I had the extra money for peace of mind. But for the time being i just wanted my unit fixed and working well and he seemed to understand that just fine. To me it’s no different from a waitress asking me if I want dessert at the end of every meal and telling me I «have» to try it cause its delicious, no thanks. That’s just business. So all in all very good experience, nice guy, I’d definitely recommend to anyone and would be happy to call him again if any other issues occurred.
