Allstate Insurance: Sarkis Grigoryan

First of all, I’d like to start this review saying that I absolutely DO NOT recommend this branch to anyone. Not even to my worst enemy! I see that a few people here have complained about Vanessa Bell. Ha, that’s hilarious because before having an auto premium with AllState, I was with Farmers and Vanessa was the reason I left Farmers. Like somebody already mentioned here, she’s unprofessional, careless, and instead of admitting her mistakes, wants us to «agree to disagree.» Anyway, long story short, I had issues with her and ended canceling my policy with Farmers, and she put me in touch with Sarkis. How naïve of me! Should have checked his agency on Unilocal before jumping into another huge problem.
I started my policy with AllState on December 1^st, 2015. Sarkis asked me what date I wanted to make my monthly payments and I said the 17^th of every month. Now let me emphasize this: I did not ASK TO CHANGE MY PAYMENT DATE, I was asked, when I first got my policy, when I’d like to make my payments. 17^th it is, he said. «Just remind me in a week from now since your policy is being processed and I can’t make any changes now.» Not a problem. In a week, I e-​mailed him to remind him to change the date to the 17^th, since it was set to the 4^th — when my first payment was processed. He said «oh, actually now I can’t change it to the 17^th.» I said «what do you mean? You asked me when I wanted to make the payment and now you say you can’t change the date?» So, he went ahead and said «okay what I’ll do is I’ll suspend you auto pay now so you won’t get charged at the beginning of the month, and on the 17^th you call and make your payment. And that’s what I did. On the 17^th of January, I called to make my January payment and I saw there was a minimum balance of $ 414, which was 2x of what I would have to pay ($ 207). I spoke to a representative (it was a Sunday so I couldn’t speak to Sarkis) and she told me «since I didn’t make the payment on 4^th, in order to keep my account active I’d have to make the payment for January AND February.» I explained to her that I wasn’t making a «late payment,» I was making the payment as agreed with my Agent, on the «17^th of every month.» She said «well, it shows here that your payment date was never changed to the 17^th.» Too bad, that’s not my fault. I told her I would make a payment of $ 207 which was exactly what I owed, and I’d speak to my agent to know what this other charge was about. After that, I tried contacting Sarkis MULTIPLE times only to have my calls/​e-​mails ignored. When I finally was able to speak to him, he said «the system» did not let him change the date to the 17^th because the payment of January was not made. Are you serious??? YOU TOLD ME I should make the payment on the 17^th. YOU WERE THE ONE who suspended the auto pay so I wouldn’t be charged on the 4^th. Then he said he would finally change it to the 17^th and the payment of February should be made on the 17^th. Not to my surprise, the website kept saying that was a late payment of $ 207. After that, he never replied to my emails or calls. Never. There was no way I could pay, in a month, $ 414 for auto insurance. I was basically FORCED to cancel my policy. Great! I started my policy in December 1 and ended it in February 1. Cool, I made my payment for December and my payment for January, the 2 months I used their policy. Now I’m free from them, right? NO!!! Because I cancelled my policy too soon, I have to pay $ 116. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I did NOT cancel my policy because I wanted to, you guys left me with NO CHOICE!!! You kept changing the payment dates without letting me know and I’m the one who’s going to be punished for this??? NOBODY at this stupid agency could solve the problem THEY caused me. I spoke to several representatives, supervisors, etc. They have NO respect for customers whatsoever. What a freaking joke. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
So this is AllState. They can change the amount that you have to pay to whatever they want. and if you cancel your policy because you can’t pay what they decided to charge you, YOU HAVE TO PAY TOO!!! You think there’s going to be a punishment for Sarkis? Nah, punishment is a privilege for customers.

I’m very satisfied Custmer of All State and this Agency. Sarkis give the the best deal for my business cars and office. I will defiantly recommend them.

I love this agency. I have been a satisfied customer for years. I have used their services for personal insurance as well as for my business. Customer service is great and Sarkis is always helpful in explaining everything and answering questions. I purchased my home and car insurance with this agency. They are now helping me with my commercial insurance. I am very happy with this agency and the reasonable prices that I did not receive from any other place.

Very great office I love Vanessa she always tries her best to get me whatever deals I am applicable for and explains how the different coverages will work for me! I was paying a ridiculous amount for a very high deductible from some no name brand. She got me a reasonable deductible for about half the price! As long as you pay your bill there are never any problems and they are happy to help when your insurance is current! I’ve referred all of my friends!

Miserable agency to deal with. I’ve had Allstate for years as well as my parents and they were great. I move to LA and go to Vanessa Bell at this agency and I have been dealing with crap for almost a year now (even though I left them months ago!!)
She is unprofessional, careless, has no idea how to empathize with clients, rude and she’s hung up on me before when I’m stressed out trying to resolve the issue with her. (I never once yelled or swore at her, I was stressed but respectful) I’ve called corporate and they haven’t done anything either. I even got transferred to her yesterday trying to call another agency and she said she would resolve it once and for all and THE NEXT DAY her assistant calls me letting me know I owe a payment from a policy that was supposed to be cancelled last summer. So now I learned there is ZERO communication within the office too. What a mess.
I read the other negative review and it also mentions her and how she makes mistakes. Like when she told me she would resolve my previous all state policy just so I can find out months later I have collections notice from my previous policy and my previous agent has no idea what happened even though Vanessa told me she would contact them. She lied to me and when I confronted her and told her to just be honest and admit to a mistake and I would move on with her, she wouldn’t and insisted to «agree to disagree». I gave them a chance to be honest and keep my business.
What I will admit is that I learned how to properly cancel an auto insurance policy and that’s my fault. But when I asked Vanessa what my due diligence was, she said I was all set. Now i have to fight about $ 900 in collections because as a consumer, I was denied critical information.
Avoid this agency, all-​state treated me great for years but now I am a very happy Mercury client, before I had them I got hit and they fought for me as if I was their client, top-​notch service and fantastic pricing.
OH AND BY THE WAY — The only 5 star review here was done by someone related to Sarkis Grigoryan. Even here they are trying to fool people. I flagged it. :)

I had a horrible experience with this Agency. Thank God it’s I’m not obligated to stay with them. I like Allstate so I just found another agent to renew my policy. From the get go, I noticed they were less than professional. They have an agent named Vanessa. She made several mistakes with my policy. It cost me extra trips to her office. She never apologized for anything. Later, someone at that agency send the incorrect VIN # to the DMV and my registration got cancelled because of «no insurance». When I tried to get that fixed, the owner «Sarkis» wanted ME to pay the $ 12.00 reinstatement fee! Seriously? You screw up and I have to pay that fee? I was insulted. To his credit, he eventually did paid. When I decided to dump them, I called and politely expressed my frustration and reasons for leaving. Vanessa took my call and just said «these things happen, i wish you the best of luck». I emailed Sarkis to let him know that I was ending my business with his agency and my reasons. Well, he didn’t even have the courtesy of replying to my email. I won’t go into details about everything but if you want sloppy work, no apology, phone calls not returned for days and days, do business with this agency. If you expect good customer service, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
