I’m not sure why people give their empanadas a good rating. The empanadas are barely eatable. Stay away from the pizza too. By far the worst pizza I ever had. This place is a meat market and they have South American groceries. That they do well.

I have a such nostalgic attachment to this place, my family has been coming here since I was a child. Doesn’t hurt that the empanadas de carne are amazing! I love the non greasy baked dough that’s perfectly browned when you order from fresh out of the oven. The meat is always well seasoned and they always put a huge olive inside. Yum The sandwiches de Miga are also a staple order for us. We’ve had these goodies at most of our family parties for as long as I can remember. Will always come back and hope they stick around for years to come.

The empanadas are delicious and very authentic. The meat is on point and fresh. The market has a lot of authentic must-haves for the argentine cook in all of us. I am confident that the new management will direct this store in the right direction and continue to offer the excellent service that has kept them a part of the community for decades.

Linguiça, Linguiça, Linguiça… Where to get the bomb Linguiça like they have it in Mines Gerais. I don’t know why Brazilian markets don’t have it. Maybe it’s a rancher thing. Anyhow, take it home, cook it and stuff it in some home made pao de queijo. If you need a sugar rush they also have guarana soda. While your there get a Choripan sandwich or something else good.

They have the best little empanadas de carne! We bought them fresh out the oven! They’re more like little warm pockets of goodness. However, aside from those gems, it’s warm in the store. The air conditioning should get fixed!

This place is great! The owner is an awesome dude who always greets customers with a smile. I just walked out of here with a small Christmas calendar. I am very proud to have his business in my community.

I used to come to this store ALL the time for their fantastic empanadas. The chicken and spinach and cheese ones were so tasty and inexpensive, a buck and some change each. We even catered a movie shoot featuring those empenadas. Unfortunately though, I had a few bad experiences in a row and haven’t been able to eat them since. On two separate occasions, the spinach and cheese empanadas were bland and flavorless. It seemed they changed the recipe or forgot some salt and spices or something. They were completely inedible. They had to be trashed. I mentioned it to the owner though and he was apologetic and said he’d mention it to the cooks. We tried them again and the problem was solved. The last time we ordered them, I found some steel wire from a metal pot scrubber baked right into my chicken empanada. Eeeeeeeew! I tried to bring this to the owners attention, but he has been MIA the last several times I’ve stopped in. I did mention it to a worker/cashier there but there was a bit of a language barrier. Although he did seem to understand a bit of my Spanglish and offered me a credit for an empenada. I politely declined. I really want to be able to put it behind me. But I just can’t help but imagine that pot scrubber hard at work at the bottom of a dirty pan, making its way, bacteria and all into my food. It is just so gross. Ok, I feel a little bad bringing this up too. But, I also saw a huge dead roach lying feet in the air right at the rear entrance to the store. I told the same cashier/cook guy and he took care of it. But, yuck! Having said all this, I still shop there for a few items. They are also a small grocery market and have some unique packaged products like, Yerba Mate and decent bottles of wine. They are so close by and I still plan on stopping in for certain teas and cooking oils on a regular basis.

I have been coming to Alex Meat Market Carniceria Argentina as long as I can remember, probably over 15 years. When I come here, usually once a month, I always get an assortment of the empanadas(beef, chicken, ham and cheese, and spinach) along with some meat cuts for grilling. I have never been disappointed with my purchases at this place. Alex Meat Market Carniceria Argentina also carries hard-to-find ethnic(Peruvian, Argentinian, etc.) products. Easy street parking and the staff is very helpful and accommodating.

My family has been going to this place for over 15yrs and not once have they disappointed. I’ve tried empanadas at so many other restaurants and they cannot compare to carniceria argentina. They have a great variety, but my favorite have to be the chicken, meat, and spinach empanadas. Perfect location. Great prices and service. A must try if you’re in the neighborhood.

This place has amazing delicious Argentinian foods and actual authentic Argentinian products! Every year for Christmas I order sandwiches de miga from here and they are the best! I have not once been disappointed! Only problem is they run out fast lol so maybe I should order more next year. The empanadas are so delicious, but I am spoiled and eat homemade ones from my mama. I do highly recommend the ham and cheese empanadas from here, they are yummy. They also have a big selection of sweets from breads, turon, dulce de leches, and even cookies. Oh and also lots of booze! But the best part is the huge selection of Argentinian meats for your Sunday asado.(Sunday BBQ) And if your dad(like my old man was) is a huge soccer fan, they have tons of Argentina soccer stuff all over the walls. I wish this place was a little closer to me but whatever it’s delicious and keeps me coming back every time. Yum yum

South Americans use to cut meat differently and Argentinian cuts are very alike Brazilian cuts, so we enjoy a lot having a butcher dealing with meat on a familiar way as well. We can have the best of both worlds. If you stop by, don’t forget to have one(or two, or three…) of their AMAZING fresh alfajor… a guilty treadmill right after… but filled with joy… and dulce de leche ;-)

The great tasting empanadas! The Brazilian products: Chocolates Garoto, Guaraná Antárctica, Picanha, Sal Grosso. The wonderful attention from Hanibal makes it an even better shopping experience.

It’s $ 1.21 for a tasty empanada. Homemade style to the nine. Beef empanada has pieces of egg, tiny ones, and a sliver of jalapeño that is more of a garnish than a heat seeking chile. The one I liked was the chicken empanada. Buttery soft on the outside, warm meaty inside that when you put some drops of hot sauce on it you’ll be set! Really good stuff. Empanadas are croissant looking goody than a real meal if you ask me. It’ll fool ya. It’s thee original hot pocket! Caliente Empanada! A lot of Argentinian wines sold here too. From 3.99 to 29.99. Good people over there. The are only 3 or 4 stools inside this meat market which is rare. Also before I left I bought some yerba mate rosamonte brand. Now I can go into yerba mate but I’d rather you check it out for yourselves. It’s not a drink you just try like tea rather you have to invest some time and acquire the taste for it. Which is why you probably don’t hear much about it or aren’t able to find it at your local tea or coffee shops. The key is a good bombilla otherwise you get stems and leaves in your mouth. Anyway, lots of mate’s to choose from. Orange mate even! Affordable prices too.
