Last night, I stumbled upon the documentary «race to nowhere» (It’d been a few years since I watched it) and was brought to tears. It made me so thankful that Valley Charter Middle School exists! My daughter is EXCITED to go to school everyday. She has simply blossomed since starting school at VCMS; both socially and academically. The principal and teachers are beyond top-​notch. The principal and the teachers know every student by name (some of my friend’s kids are in one of the larger LAUSD public schools and their teacher doesn’t even know their name) To have your child excited about learning — and happy in middle school … really, what more can a parent ask?

Hidden GEM of schools in the Valley! My daughter has been here since 6th grade when the Middle School opened and she is now a happy eighth grader (how often do you hear someone say THAT?!) who has been excited to get up and go to school — every day for three years (or THAT!) This is a small, progressive public school with reasonable class sizes, creative teachers who care, a responsive administration and a great community as the cherry on top. Not your typical middle school experience. We have been really pleased with this experience and are proud to be part of the first graduating class :)
