Don’t wait to have a problem checked.

If you notice something isn’t right with your transmission, go ahead and have it checked. Catching a problem early could save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars on a repair bill.

Avoid going from P to R in a fast idle

When changing from park to reverse or from reverse to park, make sure you are at a complete stop and a normal idle. If you are at a fast idle when going into gear, you will damage the internal moving parts of your transmission which can lead to costly repairs.

Change the fluid and filter often

It is recommended that you change your transmission and fluid every 2 years or sooner if you do a lot of towing. Just like oil is the life blood of your engine, transmission fluid is that of the transmission. Transmission fluid that is dirty or «worn» can cause problems that can be very expensive to repair.
