Chopstick III

I give it three stars because the service was subpar. We were seated and waited ten minutes to receive water and to have our orders taken — just appetizers. We then waited another ten minutes to order our entrees. We were finished with our meal and wanted the check but were sitting there for another ten minutes before an employee came over to ask if we wanted dessert or a check. We also did not have enough water refills throughout the meal. The restaurant should be receiving five stars for their food, but their service could greatly be improved. The food was excellent. I really enjoyed my Tom Yum soup with crispy noodles and my vegetarian curry entrée. The mango lassi is excellent and the restaurant is very vegetarian friendly; I was impressed with their outstanding vegan/​vegetarian menu.

Good place to enjoy Indo-​Chinese cuisine.
To those of us who’re from the Indian subcontinent, many Indo-​Chinese restaurants disappoint (read «food not spicy enough»), but Chopstics comes good on that aspect. Food is spicier (per request) and yet retains the flavors!
Food and service are both Worth the money. BYOB served. Place is a bit cramped but we avoided the «rush hour» so it wasn’t so bad

The restaurant is cramped and very little space to move around. You would be sitting not just close to the person who would have accompanied you for the meal but also to the person sitting on the next table. So until and unless you prefer to eavesdrop or just like the stranger closeness feeling — this isn’t the place to go .
The quantity of the food is good but it lacks In taste big time ! Neither is it info-​chinese or just plain chinese. It’s surprising that the schezwan chicken and the garlic chicken had the same look and tasted almost similar when they should be poles apart. I would rate the fried rice and the Hakka noodles just about average .
The Indian deserts were poor… do not try the kala jamun. The malai kulfi again was below par– just because it did not smell right. There are way many better options for indo-​chinese fusion food close by. Expected a lot from this place but it turned out to be a big disappointment

Came in for weekday lunch because I couldn’t find anything else around. I ordered the Manchurian chicken lunch special. I only had an hour to eat, it took forever for the food to arrive, and when it did, I was served the soup and entrée at the same time. I was only one in restaurant when I arrived. Hostess/​waitress woman, who may also be owner, was an airhead. The food was edible but then for days after I had gastrointestinal issues. Never coming here again, please learn from my mistake!

On a Sunday evening, my husband and I were the only customers in this restaurant. We’ve dined at their Edison, NJ location and love the food. (However, the service in Edison is sloppy) … So on this Sunday, we missed lunch and were really hungry but still decided to play safe and ordered only a soup and chicken lollipop to begin with. The hot and sour soup came to our table almost instantly, so it was some pre-​made stuff… And it was SO HORRIBLE that I was in disbelief for a while! We started wondering if we should even stay for the lollipop or just go… By the time we decided, the lollipop was served. It looked quite appetizing and I dared to try it. The coating was crisp and wonderful but the chicken was chewy and dry. We left the next closest restaurant…

Good food, horrible table arrangement. The tables r so close together, you feel like you are having a mass meal with strangers. Also, the service was horrible, the waiter messed up our order not once but twice. They charge graduatity on the bill wich is very high, I had no problem with that, but when I looked closely, found that they added 20% graduatity on the tax amount too. Total scam, avoid.

I do not know why this place is getting so much hate on this forum but I will try to address this place from my own point of view.
Pros:
–Food that I get is fantastic [chili chicken dry, chili paneer dry, chicken hakka noodles medium spice, schezuan egg fried rice] all food was fantastically prepared and spiced, especially the chili chicken dry, i could eat that for every meal.
Cons:
–When it’s crowded, the service can become subpar so come at off peak hours.
–Small side of the highway place with bad parking ability
–Portions of meals are a little less for the price that they demand [I suggest either giving more food or lowering the price by 5%-10% to go along with this complaint]
–Some dishes seem like they’ve either been thawed or reused from a previous dish so this seems quite cheap to me.
This place kills it with the indian chinese, so focus on that stuff. Don’t go in ordering some ridiculous food expecting them to knock it out of the park because the truth is that they won’t. Hope this helps.

We were the only 2 customers in the restaurant during lunch. It took them over 40 minutes to get us 2 plates of food. I understand if they had to catch a chicken, kill it, pluck it’s feathers, take out the organ and debone it, but I don’t believe that’s the case. I also ordered a vegetarian stir fry meal, unless they were digging the roots out of the ground I don’t understand why it couldn’t be done in less than 40 minutes. Also the water tasted like soap. The soup was decent tho.

Do not trust the reviews being an Hyderabadi this indo Chinese Restraunt has a very bad taste just to kill your hunger it’s ok not more than it! Worst indo Chinese food ever had in United States

Have been ordering and eating at this place for years … We prefer the chicken dishes dry and they are awesome … Be it the pepper chicken or chilli chicken … And the manchow and sweet corn soups to accompany that along with pleasing staff, make it perfect … I think the noodles and fried rice could do with more flavour, and the chicken lollipop less breaded … but overall food from Chopstick is now become comfort food for us…

Inconsistent food for pickup/​togo. Rude staff. Dine in probably yes as limited options in the area.
After 3 mediocre experiences over the past year, this restaurant finally deserves a review.
On first occasion, the staff gave us someone else’s to-​go order! On taking it back to the restaurant, the front staff tells us that «its your fault and we should have checked before leaving!» The other party was right there with the same issue!!! We were like dude u hand us the wrong order in the first place.
On second occasion we planned to order on the phone from our car, and asked for some good options and the lady on phone rudely tells us «the menu is available online, everything is online now!» Thank you lady, we know that!
Today did the same mistake, we ordered from this restaurant again… their chicken lollipop is just plain chicken wings dipped in batter and fried! What a rip off! Where is the red masala/​sauce and all garnishing on the chicken lollipop! (google chicken lollipop and see how they look for yourself)
We did dine in using a Groupon deal once and that was a good experience but all our 3 togo orders were a mess! For togo, some dishes taste right while some miss the flavor and seems like were hastily done, probably because they don’t expect to see the togo/​pickup customer again!!!

WOW!!! I am amazed how good the food has been every time we have ordered it. My personal favorites are Veg Hakka Noddles and Malayan chicken. The owner is really sweet and really cares about customer satisfaction. I strongly recommend this place.

I bought an amazon local deal since I live 5 mins away to give this place a try. and was disappointed in a big way. I am HUGE fan on indo-​chinese fusion cuisine, some of my favorite place to eat serves fusion food. Located right off route 130, you may find the location bit odd as it’s away from everything else that is around. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, the place was completely empty. We placed our order: house soup, Hakka noodle and chicken chilly with rice (all of my favorite dishes) — the food looked good but didn’t even come close to what I was expecting. The food quantity was good but it lacked the extra flavor that indo-​chinese cuisine is known for — and it was just blend. I did read some of the reviews on here complaining about the spice level so maybe they are trying to adopt to their consumers or folks who live around here but it wasn’t for me. If you run/​operate indo-​chinese restaurant, stick to that and folks who like it will become your loyal customers instead of changing your cooking method/​style. I will not be coming back here again, and if you are looking for good indo-​chinese food, check out Bombay Wok which is about mile away on the same road, you won’t be disappointed.
They do have outside seating which is kind of nice — and they also have hookah which I haven’t tried so I might be back just to smoke some hookah outside.

Horrible service & serves frozen Indian appetizers. Parking situation is pretty bad & dark. Owner was right there but had no control over his staff.

Horrible service… The guys forgot we ordered ice tea… they also forgot the extra rice we ordered… The food came to our table 35 minutes after we ordered and the only item that came first was white rice! The corn soup was terrible … All food tasted like waste… Plus 15% compulsory gratuity was charged … I wished I had a –ve star to give…

The only place where I like indo-​chinese food.
I took out one star cos I always order soup, dry manchurian & noodles. The server always asks us if we would like to order manchurian with gravy as noodles will feel dry and I always tell him to bring soup along with main course. But they never do that.
They bring out the soup first and wait for us to finish it and then bring out the main course. I wonder if they want us to order gravy stuff? Don’t know. But I hope they consider different preferences people have.
I keep going back as I like how the food tastes. I hope they keep the taste consistent.

This place is a dump. Soup tasted like dish wash water. The cauliflower in one of the dishes was on the verge of going bad most likely due to repeat thawing and refreezing. My guess is that they save the left overs from the buffet and serve them for dinner. Hate places that cut corners.

Little dumpy place with some neon lights outside with a cheesy name of Chopsticks III wtf, leading you to believe the focus is definitely take out Asian. Hell no this is true fusion with a slight lean in the direction of India.
Man o man were we blown away with the cornucopia of flavor explosions! We chose 3 dishes to share, a spicy lamb and I do mean spicy, mixed fried rice and sweet and sour tilapia. The intense flavors of the lamb were too much for the wife and kids but I was in heaven. The fried rice was cooked to perfection with a nice delightful combo of veggies mixed in. The sweet and sour tilapia is why people lick plates, the perfect meeting place for the tongue to dance between the 2 opposing tastes with the fish cooked perfectly.
The corn soup was ok more like cream corn. The hot and spicy soup was more hot then spicy ok. No Naan boo. The portions are sizable with affordable prices.
There is some nice décor with an interesting wood crafted pic to view close to the fish tank to keep the kiddies busy. Service was spot on and courteous, they asked what level of heat we prefer which is considerate when your with kids.
We’ll be back.

This place is a solid three stars based on décor, service and food. Not special in any way but nice enough if you live close by. It is a little out of the way for us, but I tried it based on a Amazon voucher.
Décor is nice enough. I will post some pix. Tables are laminated with an interesting Oriental pattern. Cloth napkins. Carafes of water at the table. Since the water is put out before service, it is room temp, not chilled. Normal silverware. I assume that chopsticks are available upon request. In many Asian restaurants, it is the other way around. Background music was something jazzy, American, not ethnic.
We stopped in early for lunch on a Saturday, ordering from the full menu. Corn soup was decent. Hot and sour soup was just passable and had a lot more heat than normal. My wife had the lamb in a Malay curry sauce. Nice sauce. The lamb was good, not exactly tender but properly cooked. I had the shrimp in a Thai yellow curry sauce. The sauce was just OK but there were six nicely cooked jumbo shrimp. Both dishes served with a side of basmati rice — light and fluffy — not sticky rice. Both portions are big enough to bring some home. Price value on the menu is excellent, even without a coupon.
While contemplating the sauce on her lamb, my wife commented that no bread was served. Not unusual for a Chinese or Thai place but since this place is fusion I would have expected some naan. After the meal, I asked our server if they had any coffee or tea. Nope. I thought that a Thai iced coffee or a chai tea should have been available or maybe a nicely presented pot of Jasmine tea.
Out of the way for us; but I would be back if it was close by. As I said earlier. Good but not special. Worth the money.
Location is on Rt 130 North, across from Shop-​Rite. Parking in front is limited but there is a large parking lot in the back, driveway is on the right as you pull in.
Unfortunately the menu is not available on line. I will post a pix of the takeout menu — which is not as extensive and a couple of bucks cheaper than the dine-​in menu.

I met a friend here for dinner. I had been here once before, a couple of years ago.
It had gotten very cool outside, but that didn’t get communicated to management, who had the air conditioner on full blast. It was eventually lowered at my request, but that didn’t stop us from shivering for a while. I don’t know if it’s house policy or it was just to warm us up, but the waiter brought us complimentary bowls of sweet corn soup even before we ordered. Not only was it delicious, it took the chill out of us pretty quickly.
My friend and I shared Haka Noodles with Chicken, and a Malaysian Curry. I can’t remember which of the four curries we chose, but we ordered it with lamb. The Hakka noodles were nothing special, very dry, not much spice. The curry, though, was delicious and the lamb was tender and flavorful, but it was a very salty dish. After reading reviews here, I ordered the curry on the less spicy side of medium, and the amount was just perfect.
Service was pretty good, and I’d return for the corn soup and, even with the salt, that Malaysian curry!
