Hertz Rent A Car

Absolutely Ridiculous experience! From reservation, to return & it continues a month later as I still am waiting to have a $ 122.00 FUEL SURCHARGE rectified from my bill. That’s right $ 122.00 for Fuel that I was told, DID NOT need to be filled since I chose the Automatic Option. Of course the incompetent ‘in-​training’ worker forgot to note that on the invoice, I guess. (I am guessing that he forgot to note it, since Christian did not tell this to me upon returning the car). When I initially checked out the car I actually repeated this option to the same worker THREE times, just to make sure I had all the facts straight & I did not need to fill up the fuel tank before returning the vehicle. He turned to the side and pointed to a sign that stated the same… I also called and spoke to the manager, Christian, noting the day/​time of return & confirming that I did not have to fill up the vehicle since I chose this option. Getting the credit card statement, after leaving the establishment with no bill or receipt, since Insurance supposedly paid for it all, was surprising. Immediately I called, left a message with Erica (in the weeks that followed leaving more messages), and NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. Three weeks later, when I finally got the Christian on the phone, it was excuses & STILL Empty promises of being refunded. I called the credit card company, since they are aware of my dispute against Hertz negligence & incompetence, and I Still have not been refunded MY money as promised.
Of course that was the icing on the cake to the entire experience. It was absolutely awful, & this seems like such a ‘no-​brainer’ of a business (At least it always has been in all of my other rent a car experiences in other establishments). Please, someone train the workers in this establishment so consumers do not have to waste so much time rectifying their incompetence.
It is absolutely ridiculous & a Colossal waste of time.
Stay away from North Bergen Hertz… go to enterprise, or Anywhere else!!!

Nasty branch manager Christian Mejia, and unhelpful. Company car in accident, insurance recommend hertz. They put one person name on the rental agreement but no company name. When employee left for work trip, and car get towed by parking authority, it can’t be retrieved because only 1 name is on the rental agreement and not company name. Called for help, and been told to go to federal impound lot to speak to upper management. When i said federal impound lot will not let you speak to upper management to sell them a far fetched story, his response is you are the one that drove the rental to the impound, you go figure it out how to get it out. He claimed hertz will not let him to add the company name on it unless the car is returned first, and it is not his problem. When ask to speak to his management, he said he is branch manager, and offer only email address to someone call tom testa. Take note, tom, here is your next rising star in the company.

Their cars have damages. That have a VERY limited variety. A customer of theirs had parked close to my car and one of their workers just blantly opened the door and I looked at him and he was more pissed off than I was. WTF?! Really?! Management should train their staff to be more careful.
