Randall Highlands Apartments

When we moved into this complex it was gorgeous. The units and grounds were immaculate and the staff was awesome. We were told we could paint the walls, decorate in any way we wanted. We did not paint as we were only there for 15 months, although the walls were very hard to keep clean because they were the spray on flat primer that the builder used. We were told that the walls would be painted and the rugs would be replaced when we moved out as that was their way of keeping the units nice and fresh. We had just two adults and two dogs under 8 lbs. each living in the unit. The management company then sold the entire complex. This is when the trouble started. The grounds were not kept up, in fact, they were not even mowed until the middle of May, because the new company never bothered to secure a landscaping company. The dog stations were rarely emptied of the dog excrement and there were rarely new bags, so people just stopped picking up after their dogs. When we would call the office for repairs or problems, we were told they would get right on it, then nothing ever happened. So when we moved out, I took extra care to clean the unit. We wiped down all the walls and used magic eraser on any spots as that is what we were told be the maintenance people to use on the primer. We shampooed the carpets, wiped down all the white baseboards and put putty in the two small holes we put pictures up with. Guess what, we were charged $ 410.00 for them to repaint the hallway where the stairs are. They state it is because of the «marks» we left in the primer. Please look around the complex and read your lease very carefully before you move to this complex as this seems to be this company’s MO, not to do anything around the units or the grounds, then make extra money on move out by withholding your deposit.
