I have never been so disgusted in my life with the food. m, the service, etc. The only thing I could say about this place is that there burgers are amazing that’s it. Other than that either there for is over cooked or under cooked and sometimes the service is very unpleasant. Unless you want a good burger I suggest you don’t go there for anything more or anything less.

Not a huge fan of this place. In all honesty, I think the food here is only worth 2 stars but because they filmed a movie that I really liked here,(running scared) so that warranted an additional star. The food is just so average, I’ve had wraps, omelettes and quesadillas and all the food just looked like it was thrown on the plate with no care. It’s just mediocre diner food, with tops down the road I really don’t see why anyone would come here, nostalgia, because it’s open 24 hours? I’m not really sure. As for myself, pass on it and head to tops.

Giving it one star because my phone wont let me give ZERO! Never go to this place! EVER! Last night was my third time here and after the experience it will be the last! First time was good. Second time the food was bad but i thought it was because in ordered apps early lunch time and everyone around me was still eating breakfast. Well anyway it was four of us there lastnight and everything was just terrible! Food came out cold missing items. Then when i asked for the manager i was told he couldnt come to me because there were other customers. He wasnt even helping anyone he was standing at the bar. I am the only one that ate any if their food & they wouldnt take anything off but 10 $. Smh DONOTEATHERE!

I ate here with my dad the other night and we were very pleased! Our server was attentive and friendly and the food was excellent. I ordered the Chicken Orzo soup to start with and it was very good. It definitely had that homemade chicken soup taste to it. My dad started with a greek salad– I tried it and it tasted very fresh and I enjoyed the dressing they put on it. I was in the mood for a turkey club sandwich, which I asked for with no tomatoes and the mayo on the side. They followed my order perfectly and I was very pleased with the way the sandwich tasted. The fries it came with were nice and crispy too. My dad ordered the Moussaka, which I didn’t try, but he said was delicious. We then shared a piece of their«World’s Best Cheesecake» and asked for pineapple topping on it. The cheesecake was SO good and creamy and the pineapple topping added sweetness to the already delicious flavors in the cheesecake. I always like coming here because the place gives me that old fashioned diner feel and homemade taste.

As far as the classic diner feel, the place has it all. The jukebox, the huge neon sign outside, quiet, cozy atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and promptly took our orders and kept coming back to check on us. The food was good. About average in taste. The waitress recommended burgers and since this was our first time there, we tried them. They were good but nothing special. But I’d go back for the atmosphere!

If you are a poultry eating person prepare to get robbed and have people give you an evil eye as if it’s a personal insult that you don’t eat beef or pork. The waitress who served us attempted to charge extra for everything!

The food and prices for breakfast are fine. The rest of the menu is just overpriced. By a lot. It is a diner, not a cozy BYOB. If the owner is there the service and experience is good. If not, it’s a bewilderment. Servers stopping to eat dinner in front of their tables that they just abandoned, with no warning, Or, other servers taking up the slack. Without going into detail, trying to get the check from an AWOL server and deal with the could care less manager for 15 minutes sealed the deal. Going to be a long time before I go back.

Seems like they’ve been there 100 years and they’ll be there another hundred. Rocksolid, a classic Jersey Diner. Taylor Ham, egg and cheese on a toasted hard roll or, is it Taylor Pork Roll?

I gave this place a lot of grace several times. It once was a good diner many years ago. I’ll share my most recent experiences. Two years ago I went there with someone at night and ordered sweet potato fries. The waitress looked high and the fries looked shriveled up and dry. It was a holiday so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. A few months ago I went with friends in the afternoon and ordered chicken gyros. Are you ready for this? We got onion dip instead of real tzatziki sauce, and instead of chicken it was some kind of flat pressed, bland tasting, fake chicken slices. My friend was so disgusted. This Sunday afternoon I went and I was happy we got seated right away because they were surprisingly packed. My friend and I ordered omelettes. The waitress came back with mistakes in our order but I think it was the cook’s mistake. She apologized and returned with a new plate. It still was not what I ordered. The onions and peppers were not cooked so the inside of the omelette was watery. I politely told her I never return food, and showed her why I would not be eating it. She just said sorry. I told her I’ll just have a piece of their famous cheesecake that I know is good and(the cooks wouldn’t spit in.)I ordered chocolate cheesecake with whipped cream on the side. She brought it without whipped cream and it tasted old and stale. I got the receipt and thought the cake wasn’t worth the $ 4.75 but accepted it. I didn’t understand all the numbers on the receipt but wasn’t arguing the total. I politely asked the cashier for clarity and she was very rude. She grabbed the receipt and initially wouldn’t give me the menu to look at the price. I felt like we were playing tug of war.(The waitress was concerned I was talking to the cashier so she came over to explain but it still didn’t make sense.) At this point, I gave them 3 strikes and now I will never return with friends again.

Ok so after hitting the Fire Pit in Kearny NJ we came here for dessert and coffee. Service was slow because I don’t think they had a big waiter/waitress staff. Any way, it’s a diner and looked just like most diners. Plenty of parking. I had the cheese cake and coffee. They have a sign in front that states«Home of the best cheese cake». Well let me tell you, it is true!!! The cheese cake was PERFECT. My daughter had a chocolate layer cake and it was good. Thanks to the waitress who steered her in the right direction. Overall a good experience.

A solid throwback Jersey diner. It has everything: neon sign on the outside, individual table jukeboxes, 12+ page menu, open 24 hours, giant portions of cheap food for relatively reasonable prices. Décor: Truly quintessential diner. Service: Semi-competent. Our waitress brought me blueberry pie instead of cheesecake and then brought a water refill to someone else’s table. She did remember to put my gf’s blue cheese crumbles on the side of her salad, and despite a messy bill she got all the right charges on it. She was very present. I’ll give her a B– instead of a C+. Food: Ah, diner food. You could make it yourself for much less, but you didn’t know what you wanted until you got here. Nothing impresses, but nothing disappoints. It is exactly what the menu says. I’m not too much of a diner fan, but just by living in Jersey I’ve been to a few dozen in my life. If someone from out of town was just visiting for a day and asked me «quick, name the most dinery diner in North Jersey,» this would be one of my top choices. And for 3 stars, that may come across as faint praise, but at least it’s a reason to visit. I again say: You may not be impressed, but you won’t be disappointed either.

Used to be my go-to late night eatery/diner. Not anymore. The quality of the food has only been on a steady decline. Breakfast menu(eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes) is far from outstanding or delicious. Same for their tenders and other quick bites one likes to eat after a few drinks. With other diners being so close(Tops, Tick Tock), I’m inclined to skip Arlington’s and drive the few extra minutes for food that I won’t be unsatisfied with.

Bland, tasteless food. I swear, it was as if they were cooking for old people on a restricted diet. I ordered the filet of sole grilled with lemon & butter. Didn’t taste any lemon, butter or seasoning. It was as dry as a bone. My husband had fish & chips and said it wasn’t much better. Service was good when we got there and then fell off sharply. Not sure if our waitress was pulled for other tables or what. Good location, decent booths, they still have table juke boxes, but the food sucks. This place was much better years ago.

This is just the diner to visit, especially if you’re from out of town and want a real Jersey experience. Some of their booths come set up with old-time coin operated music players. The kind where D4 might play you Elvis. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are a normal size(none of the mammoth plates you need days to consume) and the wait staff are very gracious and friendly. All with the Jersey accent you come here for. Does a better diner exist in Joisey? Fuggitaboutit!

Best thing about this place is that its open 24 hours a day and has an old school jukebox at most of the tables. the breakfast sampler of 2 eggs with homefries and toast is gross. The homefries were undercooked and not flavored, barely even warm. Toast was burnt but more of room temp – must have been sitting. and my eggs were just blah. Calamari looks more like onion rings and were hard and rubbery. Gross!

After years of driving past the Arlington Diner. My wife and I thought it might be time to give it a try. We got there about 9:00 pm and were seated immediately by a grey haired gentleman. From there it was all downhill. Despite the fact that the place was about a quarter full. Our waitress was not much in the mood for waitressing. We ordered our meals and waited a good half an hour for our food to arrive. By the time it did come, our coffee was cold and the whole town of Kearny seemed to be suffering from a coffee bean shortage. The food itself was something out of an episode of Restaurant Impossible. Tasteless, flavorless, luke warm crap that tasted like something out of the frozen section of the nearby Walmart. I could swear I was hearing the sound of a microwave timer from the nearby kitchen. When the waitress finally came around to check on us, she saw my plate was more than half full. «Wan’t to get that to go?» «No, definitely not.» «Maybe for lunch tomorrow?» «Thanks, but I really don’t want to relive this moment.» As we drove off, I could feel my stomach beginning to take a turn for the worst. It was the first, the last, the worst.

Great place if you feel hungry. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in this area. The portions served are bigger than in chain restaurants so you get good amount of food for the money. I loved it, I ate the chicken parm here and it was delicious. because of diners like this I’m enjoying living in New Jersey.

Me and my husband just went to this diner for dinner I ordered the chicken and he ordered the shrimp scampi. Our meals came with salad and the lettuce was brown the croutons were hard as hell and they served the lettuce core as well. When our meal came out he noticed that there was a DEADROACH soaking in the scampi sauce!!! Absolutely disgusting. STAYAWAY!!! this place is a nightmare. When we told the manager he didn’t even seem surprised. Beware! If you eat here you might be the next one eating a roach.
