Ordered a very reasonably priced, super fresh, wonderful tasting clam roll with fries. I got the clam roll because I figured the clam plate would be too large. Although I didn’t eat the bread, there was way more than enough food on that platter. The fries are the fresh kind with the skin on them, which is really unexpected for a little lobster shanty. Generally, the young kids waiting on customers were really friendly and professional. The older girl could clearly not wait to get out of there. She wasn’t nice or working hard. The younger gal was picking up her slack. All in all, I was wildly impressed with my impromptu lunch.

This place always has the freshest seafood whether its from the fish case or the kitchen. I’m an avid salmon eater and i really enjoy both their farm raised and wild salmons, as well as their super fresh sushi grade tuna. They have a wide variety of shrimp, both cooked or raw, shell on or shell off. They always have nicely premade options as well, like marinated fish or swordfish kabobs which are great. As for cooked food, its awesome that they offer grilled and baked items in addition to the classic fried fish for a healthier option. The staff is really helpful and friendly and always provide a welcoming environment for the customers. I’ve become quite a regular here and i don’t see that changing any time soon.

I gave me and Lobster Tail a good long break since my first review of them in 2011 hoping to find material changes. I will say the fish in their cases looked better than previous, but the prebuilt swordfish kabobs yielded a very telling fishy smell and taste coming off the grill. Concensus at our dinner table is that before the fish turns and must be thrown out they make a last ditch effort to salvage by throwing it in marinade and dressing it up a bit on a kabob. I’m sure they’ll never admit to such practices, but the proof is in the pudding. And $ 40 for 3 uncooked swordfish kabobs with veggies seems steep. Back to Whole Foods Andover for what is definitively super fresh, albeit for a comparable or higher price.

Came here after pulling into a packed Joe Fish parking lot across the street. Was too hungry to wait, so decided to give this place a shot. Not fine dining here, but the meal really hit the spot. Sort of a seafood counter with the option to have them cook your fish and eat at the table. Tried the lobster tail meal with half fried and half grilled tails. The grilled lobster with butter tasted really fresh and the fried ones were perfectly cooked. Definitely will be back when in the area.

This was a 5 star fish market until the experience I had today 12÷26÷15, a little after 5:30PM. I arrived to order food to go as I do occasionally when I am buying fish, there was one person in front of me, I waited, as there was only one person behind the counter, however, he did not bother to tell me that he will be with me shortly. Anyway, I did not think it was a big deal compared to what I saw in the kitchen through that little glass window, 2 guys preparing food and one food them, wearing gloves as he should be, preparing food and shoving food in his mouth with the same gloves that is, then holding a container up to his moth and shoving food in, then using his hands again and preparing food. My first impression was, is this the staff kitchen? well, it was not and the sight was so unappealing, I was appalled at what I was experiencing, and I stood there looking at him, he looks back and he was laughing as if he was enjoying that I looked disgusted. I walked out of the store and I will never step foot in that establishment.

Went here for lunch yesterday, so yummy. We got the fried sea scallop dinner w fries and coleslaw. Coleslaw was so fresh and so were the scallops. Prices are fine(seafood is expensive folks, especially if you want quality fish). It doesn’t smell in there either so u can sit and enjoy your meal. A lot of people came in to buy clams and scallops. Plenty of parking and service was very friendly. We r definitely going here again for seafood.(Note: Joe Fish is across the street but they just started shrinking the amount of food u get for the same price. I’m not stupid Joe, I know when there is food missing from my usual portion).

Lobster roll was not bad, however it was way too expensive. Employee who took my order was not very pleasant. Would not recommend this establishment.

I received a gift certificate and went there on my birthday. Their in store menu had a birthday discount offer BUT I was told it was no longer in effect. LT continued to advertise this bday discount offer subsequent to my visit so I emailed them TWICE but was not given the courtesy of a reply. Since I consider this disrespectful treatment UNACCEPTABLE, I haven’t even bothered to return there to spend the rest of my gift certificate Back to Joe Fish across the street now.

Once again, the seafood in this store is less than fresh. This is my third and last attempt to buy fresh seafood. This time it was sea scallops. I didn’t think that i should ask to smell them first but I should have because when I got them home and opened the container the smell was overwhelming. They were definitely not fresh and I had to throw them away. I know fresh fish, I grew up on the Cape. I will never try to buy there again and it’s a shame because they are so convenient to the Butcher Boy.

Most amazing seafood platter I’ve ever had. The decorations could do with an upgrade, and being unable to have a take-home box for leftovers was a bummer, but the awesome food made up for those minor issues!

A fairly standard fried seafood place attached to a fish market. A little pricey for what you get(a fried seafood box, no sides, will run you $ 15+).

I was in Andover for business for 4 days last week and this is where I pick up my dinner every night. Food is fresh and delicious and also reasonably priced. I will recommend this to anyone who just want good food without the fancy restaurant settings.

Clam-shack side of things: 5+ stars. Raw fish sales side: 3 stars for the high prices, 4.5 stars for the quality. BEST fried shellfish plus excellent tartar and top-notch slaw at very competitive ‘box’ and ‘plate’ prices. Mon-Wed 11a-4p plate special that CANNOT be beat are fantastic. Fish sales are of top-quality products at top-shelf prices. I have had some of the BEST fish from their display that I’ve bought anywhere, but it was also the priciest by far. Their home-made crab cakes will make you swoon twice: Once at the $ 4/piece price, and again when you taste ‘em and see they are entrees by themselves & the best you’ve ever had. Get some of their awesome thick tartar sauce while you’re there! I found this place with a Groupon deal, but keep coming back for the incomparable quality & very fair clam-shack prices on their huge plates of fried heaven. GO! Now! You won’t be sorry.

Lobster tail is an excellent sea-food shop(you can buy lots of cuts of fresh fish /other sea food to cook at home) and solid fried-fish style take-out or eat in place. No frills, but good food. The best deal is the fried lobster tail dinner with 5 good sized tails and tons of rings or fries for just under $ 20. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, food is solid fried-food fair. Chowder was OK, as was the lobster bisque, fish sandwich is huge and tasty. All in all, it satisfies the urge for some greasy seafood very well.

The Lobster Tail in North Andover was opened by the brother of the owner of the Lobster Claw in North Reading. Its your average fried sea food place. For twenty bucks you get a giant plate of fried clams, scallops, shrimp, onion rings and haddock. Basically a 5 pound plate of free radicals. The clam chowder was pretty good as well. They have lobsters, fish, crab cakes et cetera for sale. Its a small place, take out, not for large«parties». So if you don’t mind that fried food will do a number on your longevity, its worth a try while in the area. Or if your at Butcher Boy.

Pretty good! We got the deal from LivingSocial or else we probably would never have found out about Lobster Tail. I’m glad we did! The food was solid and generous. We decided to eat in with a few other couples but there was a steady stream of people coming in to the counter and for take out. And apparently they deliver! The portions were huge. We got crab cakes and lobster bisque as well as the fried haddock and fried clam dinners. And neither of us finished our meals. The bisque had nice big pieces of lobster in it. Fiancé says the crab cakes were«okay» as were the clams — he’s more of a seafood snob than I am, and he says they were all okay but not fantastic. My haddock absolutely fell apart at the touch of a fork, which is always a good sign. And the«freedom fries»(No, I’m not joking. They call them freedom fries. Did this place open in 2001?) were delicious! I’d eat from here again. Just beware that it’s staffed by teenage girls. If that annoys you, you may not like Lobster Tail.

Randomy stumbled across this place while searching for a taqueria. The clam chowder is really different from what you would normally see in Boston. It is a deep gold hue with pieces of clam that look like a cross between natto and peanuts. The broth does not taste like clams but like a sweet stew. I would have it again. There are lots of clams and that’s one thing I like about it.
