Growing up I had every type of animal you can imagine and I enjoyed caring for them and training them all. This led to my studies in Marine Biology at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree. Upon graduation, I spent a significant amount of time out at sea studying fish and marine mammals. During my time off on land, I began raising Izzy, a Sheltie/​Beagle mix, who was the inspiration and foundation of my dog training career.

I absolutely fell in love with Izzy and began training her in agility and tricks as well as good manners. When I would take Izzy on our hikes and daily walks, people would ask, «How do you have such a well-​mannered and loveable dog?» Some people even asked me to train their dogs! The more I thought about these experiences, the more I wanted to help fellow dog owners train their own amazing family pets as well as create healthy and happy relationships with their dogs.
