Ackey’s Field

Neighborhood park on the upper west end of town. It has a one multipurpose field for soccer, football, or baseball, whichever you prefer. This place is in disrepair though, like most other public works in the municipality. Norristown has some of the highest local taxes of all the counties outside of Philadelphia, yet has one of the worst qol’s. Their needs to be some major changes to the city council and gov. if this place wants to ever get back to the level of prosperity it once had in the 50’s and 60’s.
Continuing the description of the park, there isn’t really much else, the basketball court is in poor condition, rims are about to come off, nets are ripped, and the court itself has bumps at in the backcourt. There is a miniature covered picnic area that is just there, not good or bad, and then right next to that are the swings. These things are ready to go, the bolts look pretty loose and I wouldn’t be surprised if they snapped on someone mid swing.
It’s my local b-​ball court though so thats a positive, ample parking, and basically no one there so I can hog the court to myself are probably the only other good things.
