I’ve been going to Benny for 40 years… He is the BEST!!! Very honest and ridiculously low on his prices… whether he is fixing my luggage, shoes, or putting a hole in my belt…“just 2 dollars”…“just 50 cents” …It is like walking into a shop that hasn’t changed in 50+ years, love it… as a bonus, he always has great stories or words of advice

It was my first time here. I brought five pair of shoes. They were really damaged. This guy fix them all in two days for only 35 $. Totally worth it!

I really hate writing this review because I’m a big fan of supporting local business but my experience was terrible. I dropped off a few pairs of shoes two weeks ago to have heels replaced and overall I wanted them to be cleaned. He told me the repairs would be twenty dollars cash (though seemed to be willing to take whatever cash I had)
Fast forward two weeks my husband goes to pick up my shoes and the gentleman who owns the place REPEATEDLY attempts to give him the wrong shoes. He also charged my husband more money than he quoted me at drop off excuse they were hard to repair. ($ 25)
I wasn’t with my husband and at one point I checked my phone and I had received 8 calls from this place. Apparently he had given my husband someone else’s very expensive shoes and they were pissed. So I had to go back today and drop off shoes that weren’t mine before the cops got involved. The shoes that were mine had the heels replaced but they weren’t cleaned so all in all it was a bad experience.

I went to Benny for years — not sure WHAT is going on but the last few times it’s a DISASTER!!! Shoes are lost — he can’t find them — the workmanship is not even close to what he offered before — it’s a shame — as this type of old world workmanship is so hard to find. He’s promised shoes in 3 days — and 3 weeks later they are still not ready. Very disappointing — hoping all is ok.

In our neighborhood, a lot of old trades are still prominent figures of the community. The butcher shop where you can get some fresh Italian sausage. The pasta shop where you can bring home some fresh spaghetti, gnocci and ravioli. The tailor, where custom alterations are exquisite.
And then there’s Benny, the old-​school Italian guy who runs his shoe repair shop. He sings in Italian while you wait for him to find your shoes in his eclectic shoe filing system. He will ask that you give a deposit of your choice right there and tell you that he won’t charge you a lot, as he wants his customers to leave happy. So a man who is proud of his trade… Wow, now that’s just commendable and rare to find these days.
For a pair of my beloved boots to have new soles was $ 25. But I have a feeling he charges what he likes and what type of mood he is in that day. I can’t hold that against this man who I picture doing the same thing back in Italy at his tiny shop in the village, as he proudly says to me «Arrivederci» as I exit, with my boots in tow…

The worst place ever! First of all-​He lost my shoes, second of all– I had to look for my own shoes in a horrible mess (i was there with my 15 month old baby), while i still couldn’t find it, he said he might have thrown them out! and that he was not going to «waste «2 hours looking for them!!- he was not even apologetic.
The worst customer service ever!

UPdate: dropped off 3 pair of shoes to be fixed. I came back 5 days after the promised date allwoing ample time. He lost one pair and made me riffle through everyone’s stinky shoes to find mine. He has no organization system. Now I have to waste my time to go back. I wanted to pay for the shoes he was able to find (oh wait, that was me who found my own shoes) and he said he wouldnt take a check after giving me a nasty look. I;m sure this was done out of spite.

Benny does a great job. He can dye and re-​dye shoes, repair soles, tears and heels. He even made my ripped Uggs wearable again. Prices are reasonable. Hours are limited to 9am-​6pm.
Plenty of parking available.

Good shoe repair stores are extremely difficult to find. Benny is the greatest! He is a craftsman from the old school. He knows how to repair shoes well, he is very fairly priced and just about the most pleasant shoe repair person I have met. Give Benny a try — you won’t be disappointed.

This place is great for repairing shoes and the guy is really nice and does not charge much. He can repair just about anything from scuffs or scratches to holes in your shoes.
