MacArthur Center

By far my favorite mall in this area. I’m from Orlando, and we had the Florida Mall, the Mall at Millenia, the Altamonte mall, and several others (but the ones I listed were the best ones… Especially Millenia.) Here, you have a decent selection, but this is the only one that really stands out. It is beautiful, clean, and has a great selection of stores. The food court could have a better selection, but that’s not why most people go to the mall.
The Barnes and Noble here is the best one in the area (in my humble opinion, of course), and the Dillard’s is hands down the best shopping around here. The Nordstrom is nice, too, even if it’s a little small.
They do have a movie theater, which is just a typo a movie theatre. I miss the Coach store, they closed up shop last year. I don’t know why, and I hate that I have to drive an hour to go to a Coach store now, but it is what it is. Anyhow, skip the other local malls… This one is where it’s at.

I like this mall, it has so many stores. Feels glam and well kept. Worth the tiny parking fee!

Great place! We were greeted by a mall employee (he was in uniform — almost like a concierge), with a big smile. He asked us if we had any questions or if he can direct us to any particular place.
Since we were going to Barnes & Noble, he gave us directions to get to BN which we found easily. We walked around for a bit and found that it was your typical American mall, but what I appreciated about this is that it was cleaner than most malls I’ve been to in California and the security officers were friendly and neatly dressed in their uniforms, which presented a very positive image and pride in what they do.

They have many top stores. Very clean, bright and well maintained facilities. They have the movie theaters on the third floor which is nice. They offer special sometimes. 2 tickets and a dinner at one of the restaurants for 2 in the mall for 25. Can’t bet that.

This mall is super clean and there is plenty of parking. Being named after one of the greatest American Military men is also rather cool. The children’s looney tunes play zone is pretty awesome as well. We love taking little man there even if we don’t have to do any shopping. Just a nice place for him to burn some energy. As for the stores, its a mall.

Rude security guard here. It was raining, and cold, and I was going to pick up my friend who is in a wheelchair in the front, and he would not let me.

This is one of my favorite malls in Hampton Roads. A lot of stores and these are stores most people like. It has 3 levels. A movie theater inside.

Clean, modern, classy place do do your shopping. There is a pretty wide variety of stores from which to choose. There is a huge movie theatre on the 3^rd floor. There is also a food court on the third floor with a variety of eating options.

It’s my new favorite mall. okay, so its been around forever now but i say new, because I feel like it’s finally gotten the respect it deserves after apple opened. lets be real, that like the most important store in there. And of course you also have your typical shops in there like H&M, Forever 21, Barnes and Noble, Nordstrom, JCrew, Pottery Barn, Abercrombie (do people still shop there?). Food court is a little on the lack luster, but there’s my favorite Sarku, I mean Sakura, teriyaki and a little kiosk for Sushi. Movie theater is on the third floor.
pro: so much more space than the compacted Lynnhaven or Pembroke mall. plus their rules about children running amok after a certain time period won me over. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s walking distance from my residence.
con: its pay to park, but you can at least get it validated if you plan on watching a film.

It’s a nice mall somewhat on the higher end… Abercrombie and Fitch is there and whoa watch when you pass by omg the perfume/​cologne smell will nearly take you out! Very strong so if you have allergies just don’t go that way. blah!
It’s clean and there is plenty to pick from a little for everyone.

This mall is the best. It is conveniently located by my house (within walking distance) and by the Tide. Parking is easy as well as exiting to the main roads. I love this movie theatre. It is so chill and the food is good, all things considered. The selection of stores is nice with a really huge Forever 21, H&M, and Nordstrom’s. I rarely shop at Dillard’s but when I have I got some good deals. The layout is nice and they have a mini-​carnival during the winter months – super cute! It can get pretty crowded on the weekends, so I prefer to come here on week days and go to the movies on $ 5 Tuesdays. I also like that they have a Kirkland’s, which has some really good deals on candles!

Safe, clean, kid-​friendly and bright mall with various stores at various price points with a nice playgrounds. We were surprised they did not have more traffic on a Saturday night.
Bathrooms were clean and extremely kid-​friendly. A toddler-​size potty was available.
You will have to pay about $ 1 per hour for the well-​guarded parking.

My favorite mall. They have all my favorite stores and I love their rules about no random teens running around after certain hours. It keeps the mall like a mall should be, a shopping, dining and entertainment venue, not a day care center for teens! I would only give one suggestion. PLEASE don’t have smoking areas at the entrance. You have to walk through a smoke tunnel to get inside. Also, they have the cigarette cans right beside the only two benches for seating. It should be NO SMOKING period on the premises. You want to smoke, you go down the street.

$ 1 parking to go along with a bright, beautiful and clean mall… I’m in!
This past weekend I had the opportunity to visit and caught a few deals. They have a nice selection of stores and everyone working seemed very upbeat and friendly. I’m a Charlotte Russe freak so I will say that store is what I remember the most. There is a nice food court that includes Boba tea and fresh sushi vendors among other options if you’re looking for a quick bite.
I’m really looking forward to stopping by again on my next trip to Virginia.

I love this mall!!! Best mall in the Hampton roads hands down. It’s always clean. Tons of stores. Coach, Michael Kors, Dilliards, H&M, A&E, Victoria secret, forever 21, cotton on, G by guess, YANKEE CANDLE STORE!!! Bath and body works, oh there’s a nice food court with chilies and Johnny Rockets. Yum!
You can go online to their website and see who offers military discounts. I know like 90% of them do.
There’s also a nice movie theater here. California pizza kitchen. A Texas De Brazil where they actually bring a huge stick of meat over and cut it off right into your plate. Prices are high but so is the quality.
Parking isn’t that bad either, there’s valet out front or the garage which is decently priced.

Great place to shop! Not as busy as malls in California so I enjoy coming here for some weekend shopping. Great smoothie place hidden in a corner by Forever21. There is a great selection in the food court. Aerie is in the American Eagle, just found that out (Very limited, but its not so bad). Parking has fees but thats fair since you are in downtown afterall! My hubby and I always come to the movies here, never too crowded, lines are never an issue, and we live in Ghent so this mall is really close and convenient! Will be returning soon.

This is a clean, bright, elegant mall with lots of fancy shops.
Their food court has a large play area for toddlers and babies on a soft, rubbery mat with a really cool theme (ship building industry). I believe they now keep a security officer close by… not for the kids… but the parents. I’ve witnessed a couple fathers in a shoving match arguing over one of their children hitting the other… it was pretty heated. I got out of there quick!
Their movie theater has improved… as in the odor. I’m not sure why, but their theater used to have a really funky, locker-​room odor. I had avoided their theater for about a year because of it. Glad they took care of that.
I don’t shop here often, because malls are just not my favorite place to be, but when I do, I hit Dillard’s end-​of-​season sales and the markdowns in their intimate department. I’ve purchased Calvin Klein panties for as little as a $ 2 and b. tempt’d (MY FAVORITE) bras for less than $ 20. I highly recommend giving them a call to find out when they’ll have their markdowns. Well worth it!
My daughter loves Forever 21 and H&M. I’ve found great markdowns in those stores as well. Sometimes we will stop by Bath and Body Works to see if they have any lotions on sale.
They have a curfew for minors and they (who are not employed here) must be accompanied by an adult. I wish all malls would abide by this. They also have security officers throughout the mall.

Fancy mall and surprisingly busy with very few boarded up stalls, despite the fact that this is very much an «urban» shopping mall. Most of the urban malls are decidedly empty and this one is not.
The mall is on THREE levels which is unusual, though the top level is mostly food court and movie theater. The food court has 8 or 9 different vendors including the usual Americanized ethnic choices, plus a Chili’s and a Johnny Rockets.
Almost all of the flooring is tile, which might make it easy for the wheeled patrons but if it’s at all wet outside, expect it to be slippery floors throughout.
Brightly lit with many spots to sit and rest up from your retail therapy. And I was pleased to see at least two security guards patrolling the shopping center.

Completely mediocre mall. My question for those rating this mall five stars … what are you comparing it to? Other local malls? Downtown Norfolk? Other shopping options? I’m not sure what the standard is here.
This mall is nice because it gets one off the scruffy streets of Norfolk, and this is especially useful at night. As a shopping utility, the mall has exactly the stores you think it has. Nothing in here stands out as a must-​visit.
As a dining option, again, it’s all the same lousy chains. And I’ll tell you what — I’ve never been treated more rudely than I was in this mall. When I bought some food, the cashier would not even look me in the eye. Just looked right by me like I was a huge inconvenience. I know it’s been some years, but I don’t remember Norfolk being such a rude town.
This is an average, 2.5-stars mall, perceived by most as a 5-​star mall because of its location in a 1-​star city.

Love this mall.
Almost everything I need is here.
It’s also by far the cleanest and organised mall.
Nordstrom is my favourite store.
