DIana’s Field of Dreams is a cozy, independently owned, book shop specializing in Virginia history, philosophy, art, vintage, rare and collectible books. In addition, I have a great selection of gently used children’s books and music CDs. DFOD is also a place for aspiring artists. I offer consignment sales of original art, hand-​crafted jewelry and pottery.

History

Established in 2014.

Diana’s Field of Dreams book shop was established in June of 2014. DFOD is located inside the Five Points Community Farm Market. The bookstore at the farm market was previously run by volunteers and donations. In June of 2014, Diana Fields took on the lease for the space and recreated it into a for profit enterprise, that operates with the hopes of promoting reading books the old fashioned way. In addition, DFOD works at promoting creativity in the local community by selling works of art, jewelry, pottery and local music. Diana has been selling books retail and online since 1997. Previously owning and operating a bookstore in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia.

Business Owner

Diana came to Hampton Roads in 1967 with her family as a Navy brat. In 1995 she moved to Southwest Virginia. Diana created her own job by opening a general used book store in a hundred year old house on Main Street in Narrows, VA in 1997. This evolved into a bed and breakfast with canoe livery services and Appalachian Trail shuttle. In 2010, Diana returned to the coast and returned to college graduating with honors from TCC, with a degree in liberal arts. While attending college, Diana worked as a bookseller for a local used bookstore in Norfolk. In June of 2014, Diana opened her own shop inside the Five Points Community Farm Market. And lived happily ever after…
