Specialties
I represent employees who have been subject to discrimination or denied pay or benefits to which they are entitled. Many of my cases involve disability discrimination and the right to take and return from medical leave. I also continue to represent employees in cases of employment discrimination on the basis of age, national origin, race, religion and gender, to represent those who have been retaliated against for complaining about discrimination or have engaged in other whistle-blowing activities, and continue to assist employees in obtaining the wages and benefits to which they are entitled by contract or law.
In the area of disability discrimination, I strive to provide my clients with the information they need to advocate for themselves in the workplace, to obtain the accommodations or medical leave they need to continue to be productive in the workplace, or alternatively to explore the benefits available to them should they be unable to continue to work in their current job.
History
Established in 1998.
In 1998, I left a respected Atlanta firm to dedicate my practice to representing employees who had been subjected to discrimination in the workplace or whose contractual rights had been denied. Since then I have focused my practice on disability discrimination and the right to take and return from medical leave.
I speak often and blog about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the interplay between employees’ rights to reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, to full time, intermittent and reduced hours leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act and about employees’ rights and eligibility for benefits under short and long term disability policies under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and other provisions of Georgia and federal law.
