Been coming here for several years now and always enjoyed coming in for some beers. Only downside lately is they need to do something about the horrible smell coming from the bar area.

We go here quite often and enjoy the food but often find the service is lacking. I really recommend the bangers and mash for a hearty meal. There is a good variety of appetizers and they make excellent wings. However, the follow up after you get your meal is lacking. Many times I would order another drink but they never come back to ask, even when I place the empty glass at the edge of the table. Also, when they finally take the empty plates they never bring the bill! We have had to flag down the waitress to get the bill even though we are sitting there with no food or drinks. Most places bring the bill when they clear your plates.

I came down to Atlanta(Norcross) for work and my hotel was near the Norcross historic downtown. I was looking for a place to have couple of drinks and found an Irish pub called«iron horse tavern». It was open till midnight on Sunday and the staff is just awesome. The bartender was really friendly and suggested me a really nice dark local beer«sweet water» that i enjoyed a lot. Apparently, they have a karaōke night night on Saturday and i am definitely going to be there. It has a really cool old school vibe of an Irish pub and the music there is good. All in all. Great staff. Good ambience and most importantly, good alcohol. That’s what you look for in an Irish pub i guess. Definitely a place to visit in the Norcross historic downtown!!!

Very rustic atmosphere, clean and friendly — menu had plenty of choices and very reasonable prices. Ladies room is very very dark?! Might be clean or dirty can’t tell. Absolutely the prettiest Ruben you have ever seen, Blue burger was also perfect, they spared no cheese and it was medium rare– amazing. Excellent job to the cook and server.

Good special for Newcastle beer 6.50 for 24oz. Interior little cramped, exterior has a gorgeous and quite comfortable full length patio with several different flavors of seating with fire pits(I’m from Texas and it was 43 outside). Good place — 50⁄50 beer selection aside from the special

I went here for a few drinks and some dinner. I ordered the fish and chips and had a few Tito’s vodka and soda, all seemed well until I got my bill. I guess I should’ve asked how much the drinks were, but I did not. I was shocked when I got my bill and they charged me nine dollars a drink. I can understand some places charging this Price, but not the Ironhorse. I am undecided whether I will return or not

Came here for an early dinner and a beer on a Tuesday night and had the pleasure of being served by Tessa(I hope that’s right)! She was very sweet and knowledgeable about the food. The food always speaks for itself. Exactly what you would expect out of pub food. Very tasty and well made. Love the black bean burger. Will definitely return… and often!

We come to Saturday night karaōke once a month at the Iron Horse. Their staff is always attentive. I love the atmosphere and the architecture and historical value of the bar. Great place, great food, great city.

If you love the smell of a gym locker room, skating rink, the inside of a belly button, or a house with hundreds of cats living there I strongly urge you to visit this establishment. I like and tolerate dive bars however was forced to eat lunch there with coworkers, the food was okay however I couldn’t get over the smell of satan’s butthole which hit me as soon as I walked inside.

This is my go-to place when I want to meet friends. It had(had being the keyword) a great patio, and is very dog friendly. Service is always great, and I’ve never had a bad meal. Asian steak tips & smoked salmon are my personal favorites. Then someone ruined the patio by adding a cat litter box… I’m sorry«bocce ball». As many times as I’ve been there, I’ve never seen it used once. But hey, if you want to take away seating and add a place for dogs to wiz and cats to dump at night, that’s your jam. Based on the typical patron, horseshoes or cornhole would have been better ideas. The new patio«seating» is terrible. If you’re looking to turn over customers quick, it’s genius. Not only is it uncomfortable and look like something my grandfather built, but the tables haven’t even been sanded smooth. Enjoy that burger with a side of splinters! The old seating was much nicer and more becoming of the area. This seating is fitting for a cheap café or bar in midtown. Because of the great service & food I’ll return, but certainly not for the patio. I hope whomever made these changes starts to consider their patrons.

You can find the Iron Horse Tavern on the far side of the downtown Norcross square down the hill from Paizano’s and Zapata. This is an English/Welsh style pub and part of the same series as Royal Oak, Bat and Ball, Ship and Anchor and Ye Olde Dunwoody Tavern — most of those are near where I work so I’ve visited them all — besides having a similar theme, they share the same menu(for the most part — the daily specials do vary a bit though). The interior is woody and dark, just as you would expect of a pub. There’s an area to play darts and some booths to divide up the space a bit, otherwise it would be very loud and you do know it’s loud when it’s crowded on weekends and during trivia night. I like this place quite a bit — very cozy and great for kicking back and tipping a pint or two of bitters. This place get’s some great limited-time craft beers(ask for what’s on the rotating tap) — the best I’ve had here is New Holland Brewing’s Poet stout — this is an amazing beer and worth trying if you haven’t. Otherwise they have the usual mainstays found at the other pubs: Bass, Blue Moon, Guinness, Harp, Newcastle, Stella, Sweetwater 420 and IPA and Yuengling on tap. As for food, the best thing on the menu is the fish-and-chips — these are made with the best cut of the cod, no tough tail section here(pet peeve of mine) — you can get it with one or two pieces if you’re hungry. Add some malt vinegar and enjoy yourself — you can’t go wrong with this one. Service has always been more than passable and downright great at this location — they hire some real people with character, who know their food and more importantly, the bar. Good selection of beers and a solid, yet interesting menu of bar food classics. I had the fried fish tacos which were exceptional. Very nice outdoor seating area.

Funny thing… I went back to this place last evening and it was really nice outside and yet the inside dining was cold! I guess the kitchen staff run this place in spite of their customers being comfortable. Note to self: use the patio. I have concluded that British food sucks. Every Brit item on their menu is not very good, according to my friends and what I’ve tried. Stick with the non-UK foods and you’ll be okay. Prices are so-so. The service was fair, definitely nothing to write home about.

$ 6 draft beer in plastic cups? Was that just for the St. Patrick’s day rush? Just wasn’t good. We sat at the bar. They were busy but I thought the server had an attitude. We ordered a dessert, banana trifle. It was unusual. Not bad but I wouldn’t order it again. But really, 4 plastic cups of draft beer for $ 24? What?

I popped in this spot for a going away party for a colleague on a Thursday afternoon. As I was standing and chatting with friends, a server walked by with a hamburger, destined for a diner’s table. At that moment, I knew I would be returning the following evening to try that burger. Thankfully, my husband does not have to be persuaded to go out for burgers. And my burger did not disappoint. The spicy jalapeño burger hit the spot! The sweet potato fries were a perfect side. My husband had the buffalo burger and was also impressed. Our young son had the kid-sized burger and nearly ate the entire thing(which is very rare for our finicky little one). My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Great, casual neighborhood vibe. It was crowded, but there was no wait on the Friday night we visited. Service was excellent and attentive, and the manager or owner stopped by to ensure we had a great evening. I have a feeling this will be our family’s go-to burger stop. And I look forward to trying a number of other things on their menu, like the fish and chips and even the gyro. Looking forward to becoming a regular!

The food was tasty. The staff was ok, not overly friendly, but prompt with bringing food and refills. I would have probably left a much better review, but I used the restroom before we left. I almost lost my lunch when I went to the women’s room after my meal. The bathroom smelled like a dead something was hiding in it. I seriously could smell it on my clothes all afternoon. I mentioned it to the waitress and she wasn’t surprised in the least, so I assume it’s an ongoing issue. Needless to say, after almost tossing my cookies, I won’t be going back.

We were in the downtown Nocross area for Heidi P.‘s awesome Unilocal Elite event and decided to stop by to grab a pre-birthday drink. We as in me and my buddy, Tom E. We walked in and there were plenty of seats at the bar. We knew what we wanted to drink and our bartender was pleasant, courteous and efficient. It’s a neat looking bar with the dark cherry wood furniture that I enjoy when hanging out at Irish pubs. The customer next to me ordered their version of bangers and mash and it looked«delish!» For now, this is a quick review about the quality of our drinks and service. I’m sure I’ll return with friends for an actual night out and explore their menu options as well. The drinks were solid and well made. For a first impression, they scored 4 stars in my book!

Historic Norcross is a real treat. It is small but contains some hidden treasures like the Iron Horse. When I lived in Atlanta this was one of my favorite spots. Good food, service and always something interesting on tap. Dark paneling and darts inside, cheery patio outside. The food is good, I stuck to the standard pub grub. Great place on a rainy day to disappear for a few hours with a good book.
