Homewood Suites by Hilton

This hotel is awful. Everything is old, dirty, and in poor repair. The doors do not have weather stripping and it is 25 degrees outside… and inside. I cannot believe this is a Hilton property. As a Diamond member, and having been one since 2000, I can say this is the worst property I have ever stayed in. Avoid this place.

I’ve stayed at Homewood Suites before and each visit has been okay. I will say I was quite impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff here, particularly Fati, who was very pleasant and courteous.
The location: HS is right across from a shopping center, which contains a few restaurants, and on the other side is a 24-​hou Walgreen’s; you could walk there, so the location is quite convenient.
The Room: There is a reason they call it HOMEwood Suites – they try to give you that «home away from home» feel – full kitchen, living area, nice sized bedroom, but the beds were not as comfortable as I would have liked them to be although the sheets looked fairly clean. The couch was quite uncomfortable and the throw pillows were nearly flat, so they didn’t serve much of a purpose.
Breakfast: I never expect much from hotel breakfasts since they are meat– and dairy-​laden, so all I could really eat was a bagel (typical) and try not to puke at the sight and smell of bacon and eggs. This was not satisfactory at all for me, but hey, meat-​eaters are the majority and I get that, but it’d still be nice if there was SOMETHING else available for us herbivores.
Overall: If you’d like a decent place to lay your head, then this location would suffice, but it’s just okay.

Not the greatest or even average Homewood I’ve stayed at!

I just returned from the supermarket with $ 40 worth of Lysol, Fabreeze Plug-​ins & Bleach in an effort to make our room SMELL BETTER. As soon as we walked into our room, the awful smell from the old carpet was like a punch in the face (think of dog urine embedded in carpet). Forget about the fact that the room is hideous & reminds me of 1972… I can live with «dated», but I cannot live with «disgusting smell». I actually went to the lobby to speak to the manager & burst into tears (that was embarrassing). The staff was very gracious & tried to accommodate me by switching my room, but there were no other rooms available. We are in town for an event, with several other families (staying at this same hotel), and our children want to stay together… otherwise we would switch to another hotel ASAP.
I am never staying at a Garden Inn again; I am so incredibly disappointed with Hilton. I have never had such a disgusting experience at a hotel in my life, especially one that put me out $ 40 on air freshener with a bucket of my spilled tears to boot.
I can’t wait wait to check out and go the heck home. This was trip was the last leg of our summer vacation & has been so upsetting.

I flew in for business and decided to stay near the office. I got into my room and was greeted with an overwhelming air freshner that quickly brought on a headache. I had to open the windows to air it out some. I’ve had pleasant stays at the Homewood Suites in other locations before, but this one is the worst I’ve stayed at. Also, when the fridge turns on to cool itself then turns off it makes a very loud rattling noise. Hopefully I won’t wake up in the middle of the night from this. I also think the pictures say more than can be expressed in this post.

I stayed here for 5 days. I never tried the breakfast. The kitchen has oven burners but no oven. It’s small, but it has room for most everything one might need for a short trip. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The furniture is outdated and the pillows were not very comfortable, but otherwise our stay was nice. I used the gym, which was nice because each cardio machine had a tv. The pool was simple, but it was nice to go for a swim mid day.

This place is awesome. Huge cold clean room. Huge pool area outside. Two nice gas grills. Outdoor bball court. Nice business center. Free beer, wine and food at evening weeknights!

Very pleasantly surprised!
So we were traveling up to Atlanta for the holidays, and this was the first year we had Maeby in tow. I let Adam do the research and book the hotel, so I had no clue what to expect when we arrived.
We pull up and it’s tucked just off of Peachtree Industrial, close to restaurants, some shopping and had easy access to where we needed to be. (But far enough to walk the dog in a nice tree filled area.)
The suites are cute! I didn’t expect this to be a 4 or 5 star situation, but it was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. A nice little kitchen area to store some food or make a snack… a nice living room/​seating area and the bedroom had french doors that you could close off. (Great for keeping a puppy contained.)
The bathroom is extremely outdated, but it was clean, so no real worries.
And you can’t beat the price. Even with the additional $ 75 for a pet fee, still extremely reasonable on the wallet.
Will definitely stay here again when we head back up to visit. With or without the pup.

This place is fantastic. The suites are big and comfy. Nice size TVs in both the living room and the bedroom. My first floor room included a descent size patio. The bed and bedding were among the best I’ve ever had at a hotel — at any price. The towels were soft and clean. The soap, shampoo, etc. were great quality. I will absolutely stay here again when I’m back in Norcross.

What a nice surprise! Used Hilton Honors points at the lowest denomination and were honored with a suite with full kitchen, including stove top, microwave, full size fridge with ice maker, and dishwasher. Condo living in a motel room. Two large flat screens and pull out sofa; bathroom with toilet, tub and shower separate from sink, nice Neutrogena personal cleaning products. Full breakfast with ham, mushroom and pepper strata, potato cakes and turkey sausage, as well as hot Belgian waffles and oatmeal, as well as the usual cold cereals and sweet rolls with juices and coffee! Only complaints: shower head not adjustable and not all TV channels listed are accessible. Staff welcoming and helpful. We will become regulars here!

The plus sides:
The bed is amazingly comfortable.
The AC is central, not a cold-​inducing floor unit.
The bathroom counter and mirror are very nice.
The area gives a feeling of safety and is peaceful at night.
They have an indoor pool available.
The staff have all been very friendly.
The negatives:
The bathtub slopes so that there is no flat surface, which is just not comfortable
The thermostat doesn’t have temperatures, just subjective grades.
There is no fan switch in the bathroom.
A refrigerator was in our room but we could not get it to run cold and it was beginning to look mold inside.
The WiFi is not complimentary, which seems lame for a nice hotel.
My wife and I agree that it is a really nice hotel at a great price (through
) but it doesn’t live up fully to our expectations of a Hilton hotel.

Room is quite comfy, and the hotel staff is really really nice. However, you’re located on Technology Parkway, guys; do you really think that 0.2 Mbps download and 0.1 upload is going to cut it? Certainly doesn’t for me… and I’m not even trying to stream Hulu for entertainment or anything, I’m just trying to do some basic emailing and web browsing since I don’t know the area, and it’s painfully slow. This place seems like a renovated apt complex; I wonder if they just run one low-​speed DSL to the building I’m in and expect all rooms to share or something?
Note: if you don’t have a need for internet access, then this place is great. Beds much comfier than the similar Renaissance Inn by Marriot just up the street.
EDIT: I have upgraded my rating from 2 stars to 4 over the last two days, with the final star deducted for the internet connection. Overall, the longer I stayed here, the less pissy I became over the internet. The room was very comfortable and well set up, and as mentioned before, the staff — breakfast staff, front desk, maintenance staff — were all really friendly. It was really nice to have a fridge/​sink/​dishwasher/​stovetop/​toaster for a longer stay in town along with a really comfy bed and good sized bathroom suite. I might give 3 stars if I were in a different part of town with more options, but for this part of town in this pricerange, I’m ultimately very happy with the room once I got over the internet being so darn slow.

The room was very much like your standard hotel room you would find anywhere else. Not quite as nice as the hyatt, not quite as janky as Motel 6. Why is it that every hotel room in the south has a retractable clothes line in the shower?
