2016 Went again for another work. Easy in and out. super friendly customer.
You need to fill the application online now in the system present inside and they give token.
Whatever you entered will stay for 30 days if you havent completed that task today. I always wonder their customer support is getting more and more excellent levels

Was in there today on a Wednesday at about 12:30 pm to renew my drivers license with a new secure license, so had to bring the required papers to show my identity, residence and citizenship, all of which is explained at the DDS website, where I also pre-​applied, and was given a #. Terrifically organized experience with nice, capable, knowledgeable employees, out in maybe 30 minutes, but I have one simple suggestion which could improve the experience, especially for those who pre-​apply, and that has to do with the initial line which sorts out those who have pre-​applied from those who haven’t, the latter being referred to a bank of computers at the front where they then get to fill out the application. There were a good many computers but perhaps sometimes you’re gong to have to wait for one, so do it at home.
My suggestion: When I walked in the door there were about 75 people in line ahead of me, and an employee with a strong, but perhaps not always strong enough, voice who was giving instructions on how people should sort themselves out — basically those who had pre-​applied to a short line, and those who had not to stay in the long line. The problem was the system didn’t work as well as it could have, with a good bit of uncertainty for those in line, so they need to do a better job with that initial line.
Two large simple signs — «If you preapplied this way» + «This way to apply“or some such because if you approach the initial employee to ask her a bunch of people willl get in line before you get an answer (if you need to be in that line). While there were 75 in that line, once I got in the pre-​app line there were only 5 – 10 people in it. There you get a number to be called, many windows open, nice employees, out in 10 – 15 minutes.
Premises clean, decent chars, al lover a better experience than in many private businesses with that one exception.

I realize that the DMV is not exactly known for giving a crap about people HOWEVAHHH… if you’re going to offer Saturday hours, could you at LEAST tend to the restrooms before opening? We arrived prior to the 730am opening time, stood in the lengthy line to even get in the building, and your ladies room is already appalling! None of the paper products are stocked, the surfaces of all the sinks and toilets are filthy and there is garbage strewn about everywhere on the floor. There is NO way this has all happened since you opened, rather it is clear that someone completely DID NOT CARE enough to take care of basic housekeeping. Government agency or not… this is SHAMEFUL of you.

I am very surprised to find such a high rate for this DDS.
I have been there for several times, as it is the closest DDS to my home, and my impression of them are bossy, unkind, uninformative and always crowded. I never had a pleasant experience there.

So, I came in the DMV bright and early when they opened at 0730. I was third in line and by the time I had to pick a number, I was first for the license department. Winning!
I had all my doctors reviewed and a picture taken by 7:45a. THEN, the shocker. The worker came to me and said my license was suspended in New Jersey, so my renewal request was denied.
I had to wait for NJ DMV to open at 0830. I had to call the courts, the general DMV howling, etc. By 0900 I had everything straightened out in that state and a minor fee paid.
The original lady who took me the first time told me to come back and see her. I didn’t have to wait in the line that had grown the past hour and some change I’d been outside handling my business. She reviewed everything, called the back to make sure everything was clear. I had a new temp license while I had to wait for the official one in the mail and I was on my way.
If NJ hadnt had an error in their system, I’d have been out of there by 8a but the process with Georgia was overall a success. Now, I don’t have to renew my license for 16 years because I have all of my documents certified and in the system.
Best DMV experience ever!

No more are the days of spending your entire Saturday in DDS. I came in to do a renewal an hour before they closed and I was out in less than 30 minutes. They have several counters to do renewals, issue licenses and other driver needs.
The employees for the most part are helpful and efficient. I would suggest pre applying online and checking documents needed before going. It makes for a short and hassle free visit.

I know most people dread coming into these places. I might be kissed by a leprechaun or something because the few times I’ve been here have always been in and out. I have yet to encounter a bad attitude or any hassle. I hope that by posting this review I don’t end up on the disgruntled customer list.

Average wait according to their website was 25 mins when I checked throughout the day. I went twice in one day and both times it was about 20 – 25 mins. They have lots of counters that work efficiently so it goes by fast. The workers I dealt with were friendly and helpful.
When you go in DON’T stand in line if you already checked in online. Just go straight to the center of the room where the worker is standing by the 2 check in machines. The initial line at the entrance is for those who didn’t check in online beforehand. This can save some time for your visit.

Do what everyone is telling you to do on these Unilocal reviews. I was a transfer from another state. So I filled out my application online and read up on all the documents that I needed to prove who I am from their website. Went in prepared, told me to grab a number, waited about 10 minutes and literally was done in no time.

A 5 star review for a DDS? If it deserves it, yes. I came on a Saturday morning, followed the instructions the DMV provides you (registering online, bringing my correct documents) and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes on an extremely busy day. Over 100 folks in there, they had 19 lanes open, and about 40 went ahead of me in that short period. Those that experience delays didn’t seem to bring the right documents or register online, all of which is explained clearly multiple times in multiple places. This was a very Lean, efficient operation.

I have been plenty of time to this DMV, and always been treated amazing by the staff and never had any issues yet. I know it’s a DMV so there is going to be long lines and that’s just the way it is. You just have to be patient and somehow find a way to distract yourself until your number has been called. I find it that people watching it’s the best method for making time goes by quickly (Just don’t stare too long like a creep haha)
I have found that compared to NY or FL this DMV seems very well organized and their staff knows what they are talking about. They will guide you step by step if you are not familiar with some of their laws/​rules etc.
I came in to transfer my FL to GA DL and it took me way less than expected. FL time would of been 1 plus hr, NY probably longer haha.
Come early and if you don’t know where to go right away go ask someone and don’t just in line to find out later that you had to be at another line.

As far as DDSs go this is a pretty good one. The building is easy to find and there is ample parking. Once you are inside, it’s clean and well lit, and amply staffed to handle the lines. There is a good system of checking in right when you arrive and get your number — a person is there to give you some direction to speed up whatever it is you are trying to do. I was directed to a row of computers on the left to pre-​fill-​out some forms online. This made the wait time a bit shorter, and also sped up the process once I was called up as they already had my information pulled up on their systems.
The waiting area is large and open but clean.
All in all, not a bad office!

Quick, but very disrespectful to our military. My boyfriend was just in their trying to deal with transitioning back to home life, and after explaining to the lady at station 6 about how he just got out of the military she flat out told him she didn’t care and he is the same as every other person. I couldn’t believe my ears and I just had to pass this on. I hope she and her coworkers read this because our beloved soldiers should never be treated with such disrespect.

It was January 2^nd and I was in and out of the DMV with a new license in less than 10 minutes. Winning! I grew up in North Carolina and have absolutely horrible memories of spending well over an hour any time I ever went the the DMV. It’s actually been a really quick and pleasant in and out experience every time I’ve been in Georgia, but I still always go expecting the worst.
Georgia got more strict on the documents needed to change your address and renew your license since I last got one, so definitely check out their website before going. I arrived to this ginormous location at 8:15 this morning and my number was called before I’d even finished filling out the piece of paper they’d given me at the front desk. The employee was relatively pleasant, which is practically a miracle for a government worker so that was an added bonus. My new license picture is surprisingly flattering. Perhaps she should work for Glamour Shots rather than the DMV!?!
Really I have absolutely no complaints about the whole experience. Sure it’s kind of grimy and the kind of place you’re happy you don’t have to go to often, but they were beyond efficient and pretty nice. Consider me not a fan and not going for another 8 years.

PRE-​APPLY ONLINE! It is SUCH a time saver. I was in and out in about half an hour and I bet it would have been even quicker if the person being served when I first arrived wasn’t being problematic.
I waited as long as possible until my license expired on my birthday to come here, and I was so glad I did the pre-​applying. You can do it earlier in the day and it’ll be in there. Then all you need is your current license and all the forms of identification if you haven’t been switched over to the real ID form.
They typically seem to only have one person working the pre-​apply people, but it also seemed like nobody has figured out how magnificent of a thing it is yet, because only two others were in front of me. I came after lunch on a Tuesday and things really picked up after I had checked in, but I think that’s the best time to come — though it may not really matter if YOU PRE-​APPLY. Seriously. Best thing EVER.
They also were surprisingly quick about mailing out the actual license, I don’t think it even took a week and I went a few days before Thanksgiving.
btw if you wear glasses or have bangs, be prepared that they are going to make you get both things off your face, so don’t let this come as a surprise to you as it did to me. My poor picture.

I decided to update my review for a helpful tip.
I went in on a Wednesday (which I heard is their least busiest day) and walked up the the counter for my paperwork and my number was called before I saw down!
I was amazed!
I’ve been other times where it’s been close or over a two hour wait.
Maybe Wednesdays are the days to go?!

Nobody wants to go the DMV, now known as the DDS (which is funny because that makes me think of the dentist and a visit to the dentist could be considered equally painful). But if you must, this is definitely a good place to go.
The DDS, by the way, is where you take care of services connected to your driver’s license. NOT YOUR LICENSE PLATE. You can’t get a handicapped sticker at the DDS either. That’s a different place entirely.
Before you head to the DDS, visit
to find out exactly what documents you’ll need to bring with you. I cannot stress this enough. It will save you a lot of time/​headache if you do. If you don’t have the right items, they will send you home to get them.
I arrived at the Norcross DDS about 9:30 a.m. on a Thursday. There was a long line at the front desk but it did move smoothly. The lady handling things was kind and efficient. She gave me my «claim ticket» which has the number that is called to let you know which line to get in when it is your turn.
The DDS is a rather large spacious place. It has water fountains, bathrooms, plenty of chairs and a few vending machines near the first line you get in. It is quite clean and there was no funky smell. Yay!
I filled out my form while waiting for my number to be called. They also put them on an electronic sign. The guy who handled my license renewal was also kind and efficient. He went through all my papers, took my new license photo and scanned my documents. I got my temporary license and I was on my way.
The whole process took an hour. Some might say that’s a long wait. Maybe. But considering that they handle so many people and the process goes pretty smoothly, I didn’t feel like I was waiting forever. But I would definitely follow their advice and NOT go on a Tuesday (they are closed on Mondays) or Saturdays, if you can.

This is BY FAR the best DMV in the metro Atlanta area! I have been coming here for years and I never have a long wait, the staff is professional, and they answer all of my questions and handle all of my needs.
What are the pros?
1. Organization. OMG this place is organized! They play by the rules and don’t take any excuses. One way they stay organized is by opening a little earlier than 7:30 if the line is long outside to ensure people can get in and out efficiently. What other government agency opens EARLY to ensure a good customer experience? They always have a lot of windows open so you rarely have horrendous hour long wait like at other DDS locations.
2. The staff is ALWAYS professional, friendly, and generally in a good mood. You can tell they have good management and are treated well because employees who are happy usually give better customer service. I’ve never ran across anyone at this location who wasn’t fully informed on laws and knew what they were talking about.
3. This place is CLEAN. Clean is an bit of an understatement, you can smell the bleach, pine sol, and fabuloso when you walk through the door. You can see your reflection in the freshly polished furniture. Think I’m joking? Go there to get a new picture for your license and forget to take a mirror.. .. Whoever does their cleaning does a fantastic job. They take pride in making sure this place doesn’t look and smell like a swamp.
4. Management. All of the positive traits I listed speak to the awesome management of this place. I also had a piss poor experience at the Atlanta location on Roswell Rd and the manager of the Beaver Ruin DDS apologized for my bad experience at the other location, and went above and beyond to make sure my issue was rectified.
Cons:
1. it’s a little bit of a drive if you don’t live in Gwinnett county.
Pro to that con:
The cleanliness, organization, professionalism, and management are worth the drive. Dealing with something as important as your license, it is IMPORTANT you deal with kind and competent people.

5 stars, yes indeed, unbelievable as it may be, this place gets a 5 star from me.
I came here to renew my drivers license. I visited on the coldest day of the year and on a Friday. Arriving about 930am, 2 hours after it was open, I find the place, very very quiet. Not sure if it was the super cold day, or if it was Friday.
After a short line to the receiptionist, I was given my forms and by the time I filled out the short form… my number was up. Got to the counter, gave them my paperwork, snapped my picture… and I am done. It was less than 10 minutes.
Can you believe that. in and out of the DMV under 10 minutes… WOOOOOO HOOOO.

After my visit, I drove next door to the QT and got me some lottery tickets, cos today be my luckiest day.
