Matthews-Currie Ford

After having problems with my ford fusion, apparently there is a bolt in the timing belt area that breaks, has three times. I informed the customer service rep that I spoke to when I managed to get it to the dealership. Mr. Steven Davis was not rude but not polite either, he gave me the impression I was bothering him but he would do his job. Two days later they called to let me know they would start the process of fixing my car but it would cost around $ 400 to $ 500 to repair. They also informed me they would give NO guarantee on that price it could be more expensive. I told them to stop I would have my mechanic to repair it as he had before for $ 100. Not only did they cost me two extra days in a car rental but they charged me $ 65.25. I mentioned I was understanding you gave a free estimate. I was told they do, however to examine you car the charge (for my car) $ 65.25. Then for free they will tell you what high price they decide to charge. i would not take my car to this dealership ever again. From the reviews I see on this dealership they get more 1 or NO star than others. BEWARE!
Thank you for at least responding to my review. However, since I wrote the review more not so complimentary things have happened. Not only did you cost me $ 105.00 in car rental, for my car to sit in you parking lot, but when I did have it towed to another mechanic, well you did not send all the parts that was with the car when I brought it in. This cost me another $ 51.00. All together you cost me $ 221.00 and did nothing, plus was without a car for almost a week due to you incompetent staff I was not able to enjoy a weekend off which I do not get that often. You want to do something, REFUND MY COST FOR YOU DOING NOTHING. If you want to respond you may call me, but prefer you response to be public so the world can see exactly what you do.

Aweful. The rep was a liar. She gave us 3 different quotes and still charged us $ 50.00 over the quote. To top it off the issue was not resolved the first time. The manager was given our complaint but nver called us. Towards the end the rep was rude when we called to check on our vehicle. We were going to buy a new Ford from them but we would rather go to another county than give them our buiness. Stay away from these guys.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! Service department tries to sucker you into things your car will never need. Also I bought a car from here they raised the price on me 3 times and once again tried to get me into to buying things not needed and when I refused the salesman got frustrated and angered at me. Trust me if it weren’t for the fact that this used car was at this dealership at this time, I would have happily gone elsewhere and saved money. The car I bought here broke down a week after I bought it. Go to Sarasota ford they will not swindle you out of money!

We had a great experience from start to finish.
We went on a Sunday shopping for an SUV. We were met within minutes by Reggie who took some information from us and we talked about an Explorer we had seen online. We went inside while he copied our licenses and grabbed the keys and off we went.
I won’t go into the car (which is awesome) because this is a review of the dealership.
FACILITY:
Recently renovate showroom, very clean and new with coffee for guests and a television lounge. The lot is huge and well-​maintained.
SELECTION:
Vast. They have a large property chock full of new and used cars of several makes and models. Someone has put thought into the makes and models they carry as there is something for everyone.
SALES:
No pressure. We test drove and then had a long chat about our goals and our trade-​in. We received fair value for our trade and got a great deal on our used car. Financing took about thirty minutes and Alonzo finalized our deal quickly.
STAFF:
We worked with Reggie and Alonzo, who were very nice, relaxed and professional. Easygoing crew.
SERVICE:
I’ll let you know if we ever need their service department.
While we’re talking: classic Unilocal fail here: there are TWENTY THREE reviews of this place that have been filtered out based on Unilocal’s shoddy and misleading algorithms. Most of them are five star. Read those before you trust Unilocal’s «fair and honest» two star rating of this great local business.

If I could, I would give no stars. Let me explain… My family have bought 3 cars there. The first one was my brothers, 2006 impala… First month needed a new battery.
A couple years later I needed a car… 2010 Ford Escape, $ 13,000 on Internet price. Went to the dealership and they tried to use the tag price of $ 16,000! We showed the print out of Internet price and the salesman said «Ohh that’s right okay we can honor that.» I bought the car and the first week it broke down, I needed a new throttle box and battery. Great!
Two weekends ago, my dad needed a car badly, he bought a 2004 jeep Cherokee. We thought it was in great condition. They tell you the ford mechanics go over each vehicle before selling. So a day ago it would turn on and turn right back off. We took it to our mechanic to have them look at what exactly was wrong before we called this dealership for our 30 day warranty. They first told us it’s not a ford they can’t do much. NO! They towed it to the dealership and didn’t do anything. It still is not driving correct and we are having our mechanic fix it. It has a bad battery and a couple bad connectors that are rot through. But those Ford mechanics couldn’t find that. Oh yeah we need a new alternator on top of that! We are done with the lies from here. Also this salesman Reggie, he’s new, they whole time kept giving dirty looks to my family. It’s not welcoming there!
If I were you… I would choose any other dealership then here. They don’t go over the used vehicle. They just make it look pretty.

We just purchased a certified-​used car from Matthews-​Currie Ford and have nothing but good things to say about this dealership. Our sales consultant was Don Nass, and we very much appreciated his low key, no pressure approach. Calls to him were returned in a very timely fashion, both before AND after we signed on the dotted line.
Our purchase was conditional on a few minor items being fixed and an accessory installed by a third party. We were concerned that the urgency would not be there once we’d handed over our money and taken the car. But to his credit Don ordered the parts as promised, organized the third party and arranged for all the work to be done at the dealership at the same time.
Overall it was our best ever experience buying a car from a dealer and we would highly recommend Matthews-​Currie Ford, and Don Nass in particular.

Attempted to schedule a time to look at a car. Was working with a guy called Randy. He was going to call me first thing in the morning after his sales meeting. After 30 minutes after the time he was going to call, I called him. Found out that there was no meeting and that he was not at the dealership yet. If that is any example of the ethical standards in place, run and run fast!!!

I don’t know about their sales, but if it is anything like their service — it is terrible. I’ve had my vehicle serviced there twice. Not only did it take forever (even with an appointment) they created additional problems and then wanted me to pay for them. Luckily I won that war but I will NEVER go back. Someone needs to teach the service manager some people skills.
