Forest Park Aquatic Center

What a find! I put «Splash Park» in Unilocal and this is what came up and what a brilliant find it is. This type of water facility is rare. Official competition height diving boards? Official Olympic height diving platforms? A huge common pool (think Olympic sized X 2) with lap lanes??? A very large kiddie pool with fountains and slide??? A neat little snack bar??? And a pretty large splash park??? Yup, all of that and a bag of chips. No really they do sell chips.
The staff is friendly and kind in a laid back, but still attentive sort of way. The facilities are immaculate even though they are noticeably not new. But there is something comfortable about a place that looks like it was built with quality and built to last. Snacks are fine. Hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, «penny» candy (now and laters, laffy taffy’s, etc.)
You get all of this for five bucks. Worth every penny on such an oppressively hot day.

I went with my son and mother to swim during one of the beastly hot summer days this year and it was worth the $ 5 I paid to get in. The kids’ pool is pretty big and has a small slide and rainfall area. There’s a huge pool for all ages with a few swim lanes and a water slide. There’s a also a rock climbing wall next to the water. They have a large splash pad behind the the kids pool that seemed like fun.
One thing that surprised me is they have diving boards! I worked in insurance for a while so I know how costly those things are to insure in public areas — I am so surprised they still have them up! Lots of kids were having a great time throwing themselves off the platforms.
They do «adult swim» (I’m guessing here) once an hour??? It brought me back to the 80s — my mom brought my brother and I to a public pool and oh how we hated the adult swim time because we’d have to sit on the edge of the pool and wait through the agonizing 15 minutes. I was happy to jump right in this time and take advantage of the kid free pool. If only spandau ballet or simply red was playing, it would have been perfect.

Very cool aquatic center. I have never actually been there to swim myself — but they had a really cool event at the end of the summer before they closed up the pool for the season where they let dogs come in and swim. It was $ 10 for the first dog and $ 5 for each additional dog in the family and the money went to the Noblesville or county Humane Society. We took our mutts of course and had a great time! There was 2 larger pools and one kiddie pool area. I cannot really judge if it was clean or not considering the day I went there was about 300 dogs running around — but I would definitely check it out for my husband and I to go up and enjoy sometime in the summer next year — I had just never heard of it before now.
