Talk about fresh foods… clean and friendly staff. Worth the drive to nipomo. Good wine selection.

The food was very good! The service was very poor, but it was not the server’s problem. We came in at noon, he was the only server there. We waited a long time for him to take order, no water offered, drinks finally came out at almost the same time as food. Salad plates never picked up through entire meal, not once did server ask if everything was ok or did we need anything. This was not even the worse part of our experience. The owner came in at 1:00, yes we were still there, I expressed my concerns to her. Her response ‘well we just don’t know how busy it’s going to be, yesterday it was empty’. My comment to her, ‘better to have too much service than not enough ‘. She continued to argue with me and told me that the ‘customer’ needs to understand them being short-staffed! Um no! No apology, no offer of taking drinks off of bill etc., needless to say, we won’t be back. Had the attitude been better we probably would go back, food was very good. I have never done a review before, but this was unacceptable behavior by an owner!

We order the curry dishes to-go. One feeds two very hungry adults. The price is great(especially for dinner prices). I’ve read a lot of bad reviews on here about the pad Thai. I must admit, we had a friend over the other night and she ordered the Pad Thia. She hated it! I tasted it, and I thought it was good – a bit bland tho. Anyway, we’re a curry family and have always been pleased. We also get the spring rolls and like those as well. I’m giving 4 stars because it’s not the best curry I’ve ever had, but I enjoy it overall.

Let me start off by saying the 3 stars is solely based of the money spent to what we ordered. 2 Pad Thai’s 1 Pad see Ew and combo fried rice. ALMOST $ 70 later, I think I could have waited for my next visit to O.C. and got better Thai for way less. Drop the prices a little and you will have more visiters!

Small Town Surprise… Pros: Very good food. Excellent value. Nice service. Flexible menu. Cons: Nothing really. Suggestion: If you’ve got a request, make it. They seem quite accommodating. Star Ratings: — Overall: 4 — Food Quality: 4 — Food Quantity: 5 — Exterior: 3 — Dining Room Attractiveness: 4 — Menu: 5 — Service: 5 — Noise: 4 — Price: 4 — Value: 5 — Parking: 4 — Restrooms: 4 We’re thinking about relocating to Nipomo within a few years and visit the area on the few occasions we’ve got a chance. After wine tasting for 2 days in Paso Robles around New Year’s, we drove down to Nipomo and decided to try Thai Villa for lunch. Glad we did. — Exterior: Pleasant. The restaurant is at the Tefft Street end of a small group of stores, so it’s easily seen from the street. There’s nothing extraordinary about it, but I’m sure the landlord had a hand in that. One thing which caught our eye: The sign«Thai Villa» appeared to be temporary, but the name stood out in block letters because we noticed it while driving by. — Dining Room: Also pleasant. Colors were attractive, yet subdued. Tables were spaced enough for reasonable conversation. Chairs study, but comfortable. The large windows looking onto Tefft(and a parking lot on the side) brought in lots of natural light. Ceiling was fairly high so even if the air or food got a bit toasty, the warmer air had room to rise. During our visit, the back door was open and a nice breeze blew into the place. — Menu: Varied and flexible. Thai Villa has many of the standard items you’d find in a similar restaurant. But what set it apart for us was the ability for each person to add several other components, such as beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetables to a dish. Customizing a salad or one of many entrees is a nice touch. — Food: Very good. The 4 of us are fans of Thai food and thought the quality of our dishes were just about as good as what we receive in our hometowns(San Jose and Palm Desert). We ordered a sampling of several entrees and gave a thumbs up to everything. The Pad Thai got a special thumb. It might not qualify as gourmet, but the food was flavorful, filling and left us feeling very satisfied. Oh, and the portions were«hungry man/woman size». — Liquor List: Small, but interesting. There weren’t a ton of choices for beer or wine, though it seemed someone made the selections carefully. I was tempted to get one of 3 draft beers, but I had a lot of driving ahead of me. — Noise: Manageable. Thai Villa was about 25% occupied during our meal(2PM on a Saturday), so it’s tough to say what it’s like at a more crowded time, but we had no problem. — Service: Fine. I would almost say«gracious» because the young woman serving our table(and a few others) was very friendly, helpful and had a nice calmness about her. Everything was handled promptly and she accommodated a request to slightly alter a dish. She deserved and got a 20% tip. — Price and Value: Excellent. Of course it depends on your point of reference. To us, we’d expect to pay 25% more for the same quality and quantity. But who’s complaining! — Parking: Sufficient. There’s were plenty of spaces perpendicular to the stores and shops during an early to mid Saturday afternoon. — Restrooms: Good size. Both the men’s and women’s rooms were down a hall behind the kitchen. The men’s was fairly clean with lots of room, although I’d recommend a more frequent check on conditions. Overall, Thai Villa gave us some good reasons to visit again when we’re in the Nipomo area.

Excellent Pad Ke Mow. Charred tomato with bean sprout and tender beef. Fried Calamari well executed. Friend had Prik King and everything was delicious. The charred garlic, chili paste is amazing. Owner was attentive and took great care of his customers.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice, it is clean and painted soothing greens and blues. Everything’s color-coordinated. It was a quiet, but we went on a Sunday for dinner, so there weren’t many other groups there. The food was okay. I got Pad See Ew with tofu and a Thai iced tea, and my boyfriend got red pineapple curry with chicken. The iced tea was pretty good, no complaints there. However, the curry was underwhelming. It was hot-spicy, and creamy, but it wasn’t spicy in a tasty way, and it was watery. The chicken put in was grilled chicken breast, which was kind of different. It seemed like the curry broth was made separate and then the veggies and chicken were added later. The Pad See Ew was not too bad, although, like the curry, the sauce could have been thicker. More veggies would have made it better. All in all, not the worst Thai I’ve had, but not the best either. Kind of pricey, but they give you huge portions, so it makes it worth it.

I came to this Resturant just this year and I know they have been opened for a while. Been there three times. I have been to Thailand and must say Thai villa has the BEST panang curry! Also the Tom yum soup is very good. We had it with seafood. Calamari app is good. I like the ambiance of the Resturant and everyone was very hospitable. Give it a try!

This Thai food place is amazingly good! So good it doesn’t matter that there is no Thai person on staff. It is definitely worth it! Customer service is great and so is the ambiance!

We love this place. The food is great and the restaurant is quiet. My wife loves their new Ginger Salmon, I like the yellow curry.

Always happy to see restaurants open in Nipomo, yet always disappointed when I try them. We’ve given Thai Villa three chances. Each time, we’ve had upset stomachs, and thrown out any leftovers. The last lunch was a curry dish with chicken. The chicken was pre-cooked and had grill marks. Since it was tossed in with a curry dish, it was then overcooked and had a chewy texture. Moreover, the green curry was white. It was basically a can of coconut milk poured on twice baked chicken and canned bamboo shoots. I wish this business much success, but for us, we won’t be going back. We prefer the flavors and freshness that Thai Kitchen in AG offers.

Had dinner there last night with my family. I have to say the food was pretty good. The service was absolutely awesome. Both of our servers were very attentive. The food was good I do however think the portions are very generous so be prepared to share. We had different orders and we shared amongst five. They also have a delicious Thai tea and you can also order a coconut juice served in The coconut. It was absolutely delicious. They also have a small wine selection. For dessert you definitely have to try their coconut custard it is absolutely delicious.

Thai Villa Steps~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Step 0-Yelp Thai Villa while in Nipomo, & go in Step 1– Order Thai food(Duck dish & Massuman Lamb Curry Special) Step 2– Attempt to eat above Step 3– ONLY can stomach 1⁄3 of each dish Step 4– Use credit card to pay mucho bucks for Meh Food for lunch Step 5– Get doggy bag Step 6– Step outside & walk next to CVS& maybe to get Pepto-bismol Step 7– Offer young homeless man above leftovers Step 8– Homeless Man asks if there is meat in it Step 9– Somewhat perplexed, I state that you could take the meat out Step 10– Homeless Man rejects food. Step 11– Frustrated… now twice… into the trash bin it goes Step 12– Drive away, with a lighter wallet, with a heavy dose of heartburn… with a conviction never to return… Step 13– Write a Yep Review ~~~~~~~~ THEEND! P. S.- 1) No dish had any spiciness, nor a decent flavor to it. I was not asked how spicy I wanted it(such as mild, moderate, hot, Thai Hot), nor did it list levels on the menu. It was absolutely made for the American palate whom did not want any spice heat level… so it was bland at best. All the other Thai places that I have tried in this area so far had at least some spice/heat to it. I do not have a clue how other people could find this place to be the best… maybe the regular chef was off & they had some random guy cook. 2) The super expensive Duck & Lamb(for a lunch) tasted old & reheated. It came out so fast, that it was not made fresh. The Lamb cost a fortune, was a special for over $ 20, and the waitress(who was not Thai & clueless) raved about it. I felt it was a special ripoff. Between the lack of flavor, the odd old meat, the lack of an atmosphere, I barely ate any. I could go on & on… but if this is a Thai Mom & Pop operation, they need to get their act together & get a decent cook.

We recently moved to Nipomo from AG and decided to try this place out last night. It was AWESOME! We both tried something different that we don’t normally order, and we both loved what we had! Usually one of us likes the others better or something like that but the food was amazing, fresh, and delicious. The staff members were very nice and helpful. We will DEFINITELY be going back!

I really hate to do this but I like being honest in my reviews. I’ve been back three times and haven’t been very impressed. Their pad thai was not good. As the absolute signature Thai dish, this is a real deal-killer. On my 3rd visit I returned to the BBQ chicken, which I had enjoyed on my first visit. It was completely inedible this time. Possibly the driest chicken I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant. The crispy rolls were just okay. The Panang curry was tasty but uninspired. Oh, and, I’m sick of the super-oily spinach appetizer — even if it is free. When I want Thai I’ll probably drive out to Grover Beach.

I have never had thai food before and really wasn’t sure if I’d like it. Went in thinking I wouldn’t, but wow I was wrong! We ate her for dinner tonight and it was so good! I had bbq beef and I added some of this green garlic sauce they make homemade. It was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time! We will definitely go back! Must try if you like a little spice :)
