First, service sucks! Its a taco shop look inside, it is clean, and when you order at the counter you pay which is my first issue… They have you assign your tip at the register… not in a restaurant! After your meal if is an excellent way to let the server know what you thought. I’m a person who tips regardless. But the percentage is important. The girl at the register was very nice and fast. She gets the stars… FOODISNOTGOOD! I won’t eat here again! The oil with which they cook is ransid! All the tortillas and chips had a bitter taste, and the enchilada sauce was marginal at best! They need cooking lessons! They also need some training on food safety! !

We always order the Nachos Supreme for $ 9 a huge plate and the best in the area. Yum!

This place has been hit and miss for me so far. I keep wanting to come back because it’s quick and easy, but service and food have been good and bad both. So I guess I’ll just consider this place mediocre for now.

Came in for a bowl of menudo and wasn’t disappointed. Loaded with flavor and the service was excellent.

The surf and turf burrito is out of this world. I randomly stopped in for lunch and was amazed. For $ 10 bucks the burrito is the side of my arm from wrist to elbow(I’m 6’2″ tall) and three times bigger. Super tasty. Really good customer service. I’m not sure what the other reviews are talking about.

Since writing my initial review i thought it would be fair to make an update. The man who is often cooking and I assume is the owner must have read the reviews or realized the importance of good customer service. The last 3 or 4 times I have been to Agave he has been much more friendly as well as the rest of the staff following his example. I enjoyed their food from the beginning but increasingly enjoy their service.

Random stop. Customer service was good, I think it was the owner or owner’s wife. She was patient and attentive. Tried their«Agave» Burrito, all the standard burrito ingredients(chose carnitas) served«wet» with a tasty red and good green sauce. Tab was about ten bucks including a fountain drink, which is comparable to similar restaurants in the area. They do charge for chips and salsa, which I hope changes as I agree with other posts that it is a little strange. With more business maybe they will make them free. Good food and reasonable prices. Only thing is the strip mall it occupies feels run down and investment broke, so not sure about the curb appeal, but not their fault. Will be back.

It’s come a long way since it first became Agave. The food is good, the service is excellent. Living in Nipomo really cuts down on your options insofar as places to eat but Agave Grill is a favorite of ours. Try their shrimp tacos or any of their breakfast burritos.

This place looks good from the street. Definitely divey. Food was adequate. The tamale and the taco had almost no meat. Somewhat disappointed overall. Should have spent an extra couple of bucks and gone to Las Casuelas. The service as good. You get what you paid for, almost.

When you live in Nipomo and nobody decides to deliver except for Domino’s, your expectations tend to be a little low when you call the new Mexican food restaurant that delivers. Maybe since expectations started low, that is why we love this place so much. The food is good! The Chips and salsa are absolutely some of the best I have ever had. I am grateful for this little restaurant and that they deliver some yummy real food in this little town!

Its cheap and fast. I would rather pay an exra 50 cents per item and have free chips and salsa than pay for them. It is awkward to have to ask to buy chips and salsa. I liked their chicken tamale its hard to find a good tamale every day of the week so glad theu sell them. I also tried their chicken enchilada which was ok. Nothing supremely special or standoutish. Beans and rice normal. Service slightly less than normal bit the atmosphere suggests its like fast food so it seems tolerable to have less service. I will eat here again for convenience and cost but not frequently.

My husband and I enjoy this restaurant very much. They have fresh food, and accommodate my vegetarian preferences. My husband likes their fish tacos and he eats them with the tartar sauce! I guess they try to offer many different options to please everyone. I read some of the negative reviews, and think they are too picky. Restaurants are not your mom’s cooking. They don’t always know how you like it cooked or served, so you need to communicate your preferences! Being a vegetarian, I learned early on to ask more questions and state my wishes for how things are prepared. At the Agave grill, they have always been willing to prepare the food the way I request. We like their chile rellenos, taco salad, and especially enjoy the vegetarian fajita burritos wet with enchilada sauce on them.

I wandered in and ordered a fish taco. Complete amnesia that I already had one before and it was terrible. It all came back when they asked if I wanted tartar sauce on it. Seriously?

Im sad to say we didnt have a great experience at this place. We wanted a take out order. The phone rang and rang, no answer. FINALLY on our fourth attempt someone answered. We figured they were busy. We were told to be there in 15 minutes. We got there in 15 minutes, the place had ONE customer in it. We had to wait ANOTHER15 minutes to get our food, ONEBURRITO and TWOTACOS, thats it. The food tasted stale and we have now had a stomach ache(both of us) for a full day after eating there. That being said we DONT have sensitive stomachs but this food had something going on that WASNT good. I would never go back. Whoever owns this place might want to see what is going on with their phone service, in store service, and most importantly, the quality or lack thereof of their food. SAD to say the least.:(

Mediocre. Very quick food. Veggie supreme Nachos were obviously microwaved in the styrofoam container, not cool, and charged the same price as the meat version. The Bean/cheese and chile rellenos burritos were average to good. Customer service was good. I’d only go back if I wanted something ok and quick, otherwise steer clear.

Customer service sucks! I had carne asada fries and honestly it wasn’t bad, they were okay. Ive been here twice and only seen 1 chef so I’m pretty sure he uses microwave and I find very annoying how he looks at ppl out the little window Nd doesn’t even smile. I don’t think I will be coming here anymore because it doesn’t taste like real Mexican food. My #1 Mexican restaurant so far around here is el rinconcito in Santa maria

Wow! Agave Grill’s carne asada burritos are the bomb!!! It is my son’s absolute most favorite burrito all around. I tried one for the first time tonight and I see what he is talking about! The shaved beef is seasoned so well! We like to order our’s with extra onions, extra cilantro, extra spicy with guacamole. Delish!

So saying its bad food doesn’t even come close. It’s so sad that they truly have no clue how to make authentic Mexican food Taco Bell is better and that’s pretty sad. Not to sound cheap but what Mexican restaurant charges for chips and salsa? Here’s the kicker… We could see into the kitchen and could see the 3 microwaves the«cook» put the food in to warm it up. I had a simple chicken taco with cilantro and onion, it was ok besides the chicken looked and tasted like Tyson frozen chicken. My boyfriend had an enchilada and the middle of it was still frozen! And it was blah in taste. Just wish they would at least put some effort into making the food… Nipomo needs better food.
