First-​time customer. M & N came recommended by a long-​time friend and all I can say is: WOW! Honesty and quality service from an auto mechanic… almost unheard of nowadays… certainly goes against the stereotype! Wayne is the best mechanic I’ve ever dealt with… period. He explored the most affordable repairs, kept in constant communication regarding what he found wrong, and saved me money while at the same time completing high-​quality repairs to my 18-​year old car. You’d be a fool to go anywhere else for your car repairs. And no, were not related!

Great service and I really like Wayne. He is fair and honest and let’s face it that’s so rare in a mechanic. I went in because my power steering was leaking (I went somewhere else first and the price was insane and kept trying to get me to do other things), and Wayne took great care my vehicle. I have found a new mechanic.

My family has been going to M & N auto for three generations. Wayne helped me pick out my first car by checking it over before I bought it. They have been extremely honest and dependable, I have moved out of the area, and have missed them tremendously. I recently called them when I was having car trouble and they were able to give me suggestions that helped me fix my car without having to take it in. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the Niles, NW Chicago area.

We won’t be returning to this place after our last visit. My wife took her Ford Escort in for an air conditioner issue last summer. A bypass was done to the air conditioning system when the AC wasn’t working. Several months later we returned to have them restore the system to working order by installing a new compressor and related parts. The repair bill was about $ 600.
A couple of weeks ago the car began to make noise and shake during a road trip that she took with our son to visit grandma. We took the car to our regular mechanic who was booked when we had the car done initially. After repairing the car he was able to show us that the «NEW» compressor was actually a piece of garbage. We were clearly ripped off by the shop and I am going to have to pursue this matter through legal action. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Terrible. Dishonest.

A friend referred me to this shop a few years ago and I’ve been sold on them since. They’re hours are not the most convenient and they don’t have a drop slot for keys, but we manage to work around that because these guys are totally worth it. We thought we had a brake problem on our Honda CR-​V a couple of years ago and expected to do front and back. Turned out it was something simple (sorry I can’t remember what) that cost us $ 23.00 and that was it. They never try to sell us anything else and or «recommend» service we don’t need.
