Let’s Hear It For the Boys! Elite Party @ Brick House Tavern

We were definitely blessed on this fine evening with amazing weather! I definitely got my drink on with both the Goose Island Honkers Ale and 312! I definitely felt like royalty sitting on my high chair with «dibs» on the «window seat» with unlimited sliders & tots and super helpful and friendly wait staff. This definitely made me take a second look at this previously reviewed joint and I’ve found a whole new appreciation for it. Definitely a local must-​have.
Meeting Gail C. and her family was a plus, who gave me the lowdown on some of the BEST UnilocalERS in the area! Definitely had to bust out my Blackberry and jot down some notes ;). Having Lawrence avidly photograph the event and the Shutterbox was an AWESOME way to capture memories. Thank you!
2 awesome Elite events down… many, many, many more to go.

*Being treated like a superstar and really not being one… fabulous!
*Getting there early to order a pre-​party meal and being whisper-​warned by one of the adorable servers, not to because there is a ton a food coming… fantastic!
*Actually being served a TON of food within minutes later… even better!

*Finally meeting and actually getting to talk to some of my favorite online Unilocal and their fun men… Awesomeness! (hello…Yanyao & Candace)
*Seeing some of my favorite Unilocalers (Giselle and Gail) …and meeting awesome new ones (Mai and Santiago)…that’s what life’s about!
*Getting neat parting gifts… Goose Island Pint Glasses and yummy cupcakes… pleasant surprise!
*Enjoying the comfy, outside patio and firepits… thank you Mother Nature!
*Reaping the benefits and watching Jelena and Johnny T. work their Suburb Elite hosting skills… a mere thank-​you doesn’t even cover it!

Great service by the brickhouse staff, attentive and hospitable. The complimentary honkers ale was awesome. The weather was perfect on the open deck. And geez I never thought I could get so full off of appetizers. Actually had to turn down a couple, shocker I know! As far as food goes I had the pretzels, they were veeeery salty, but it was free so they were great. The chicken bites were pretty good. The prime rib silders were tasty as well. And five stars for the Garlic Parmesan Tater Tots on the side, yum. Also need to send a shout-​out to Johnny T for the Puerto Rican food chat. And Jelena was quite nice and accommodating while checking in for the event. My first Elite event and it was memorable, complete with a sweet retro lunch box, pub glass, and decadent cupcake. Thanks Unilocal,it’s amazing I can get rewarded for speaking my mind. What a concept!

I don’t know how Brick House has eluded me? Probably because it’s so near the icky Walmart, but I’ve been there before for the Starbucks… oh well.
Way cool place. I’m totally going back. Beer was nice and cold, food was very tasty, goodies were oh so cool! Great event, great venue, great photographer (even though the only photo of me is awful, totally not his fault — I’m just freaky looking)! The ever so Awesome ShutterBox Photo Booth!
And everyone had a smile on their face. That really made the event even better. Really had a good time.
Nice seeing Misty and her honey, Giselle, Howard and Yelena (ever so cool), calm JT, Candice, just everyone! I do need to make a point to meet at least one new person at each event. Mai, you’re it.

I had a great time at this event. It was amazing weather for Brick House’s open-​air patio section. All of the small bites that they brought around were fantastic, my favorite being the tater-​tots. Brick House is definitely worth the trip if are into beer and jean shorts, jorts, on fit looking ladies. You can even take a bus there from the Howard red line stop if you want to try and take on one of their gigantic tubes of beer. Good times, Suburban Unilocal,I love the up-​North events!

This was my second suburban event and it was great!
The private patio was perfect. It was beautiful out. The food just kept coming and coming. Although the event said that there would be Two Brothers, something happened and Goose Island stepped up to provide the majority of the beer, BUT to compensate Brick House brought out a whole slew of appetizers. Although I only had one beer, I ordered a Alabama Slammer and a Amaretto Sour and both were great drinks and VERY reasonably priced.
The photo booth was a blast. We laughed, we cried, we looked crazy. On top of all of this, I won a gift certificate for the Brick House! Perfect night! Thanks Unilocal

First of all thanks to everyone at Unilocal for organizing the most awesome events. Every time I go, I am treated like a rock star. I appreciate that.
I loved the whole private patio experience. The waitresses were top notch and coming by every so often with platters of prime rib sliders, pretzels and meatloaf sandwiches. If I was into boobies, this was definitely heaven. But for me, their personalities were enough to suffice. Though one boo, I arrived a half hour late and missed the deviled eggs. I’m blaming my German Shepherd pup on this. If only he would’ve got into the crate then I could’ve enjoyed the yumminess. Oh well, I had such a great time that I’ll be back here.
The flow of beer was just right. Though I would’ve loved to swim in those tall beer containers (bongs?) on the bar. What were they over three feet tall? I need that for the house.
How could I forget the to-​go cupcakes? Totally awesome! I waited until today to eat mine and it was delicious. Thanks again Unilocal for another awesome/​excellent/​kick ass event.
Blood, Unilocal and Tears!

Awesome fun!
Met here last night for the Unilocal elite event. Now, listen, these days I don’t go out for the food. If I want awesome food I totally know what I’m doing in the kitchen. I could care less if the food at a place is incredible if the service is crap. I don’t need someone else to cook for me, but I do expect at any restaurant that the hospitality be genuine. These days when I go out I go for the social experience. And I had a great experience at this place. The nibbles were very tasty and a lot of fun. Cool outdoor patios with a totally shway fire pit. The beer was cold and the girls were totally charming and genuine. Great service. I felt totally welcomed and pampered by servers who were bright engaging and intelligent. (But then I guess you only get out of any interaction what you bring to it!) The chocolate cupcakes are outta sight, by the way. I will be returning to this place because I have some friends who I know will love this place.
I’m also very impressed by the Unilocal staff who ran the event so smoothly that it seemed effortless. It was a really great night out! Thanks guys!

Thanks Unilocal,for another fine event. Free food, free drink, and the opportunity to chat with other foodies from Chicagoland — can’t beat it. What was different this time? — the most excellent and friendly service by the multitude of Brick House servers, and plentiful and tasty roast beef sliders, meat loaf sliders and other assorted finger food items brought to us tableside. Also, plenty of Goose Island Honkers Ale and 312. I never heard of Brick House, but it looks to be quite a sports bar for the area. Thanks again.

Indeed, let’s hear it… let’s hear it for my first ‘burbs event! Woo! It was all I dreamed it could be. ;) I felt like Pip when a mysterious benefactor gave me the drink tickets she wasn’t going to use. Well, she wasn’t so mysterious (thanks Liz M!), but when else am I going to have the opportunity to reference Great Expectations in a Unilocal review?
There was a photobooth, great beer, lots of food (plus the Lakers stomped the Suns!). We also had a wonderful day. this place is an excellent spot to get your drink on when the weather is nice. Great choice Jelena!
Also, thanks for the Glass and double-​D cupcake (which I can only assume stands for deliciousness-​squared)!

Jelena and the other Unilocal CMs have done it again! I love the feeling I get when I’m sitting in a Unilocal-​reserved area, with tons of delicious food being passed around on platters, where the beer flows like wine and the beautiful women flock like the salmon of Capistrano… and everyone who looks out from the inside is like «aw, how can I get myself some of THAT??»
I’d never been to a Brick House, but I’ll definitely be back. The food was incredible– I even tried my first-​ever deviled egg. The servers were all over us, not literally, but service-ly…offering to get us new drinks, stopping by with a new appetizer to try every 2 mins or so. And I got to actually hang out and talk music with my buddy Tim, who doesn’t get out with me much since he got married and works for a construction firm now. Not totally his fault.
Brick House also covered their servers for the night and didn’t accept tips, a totally righteous thing to do. That goes a long way in my book, so thanks again Brick House.
This is my 3^rd Elite event, and each time I drove about 45 mins to get there. But I feel like such a rockstar every time I do, so I don’t mind. I hear the next few events will be much closer to me, so that’s a much bigger bonus! Thanks again!

Who wears short shorts?
These Brick House girls sure do! Tiny jean shorts and black shirt make up their uniform. They reminded me of the Hooters girl outfits, without the strange looking nylons. Man, I would freeze my butt off and I don’t envy their need to keep their legs shaved all the time. Some of them were super sweet and made sure we got enough food and drinks throughout the night. We tried to tip them but they refused our gratuity. It made me wonder what that bucket I threw some tip in by the beer taps was actually for. And plenty of food and drinks there were! We each received 3 beer tickets at the door and signed up for raffle to prizes I still do not know what they are. Not only that, but I also scored a wicked «Blood, Unilocal & Tears» sweatband… oh yeah.
We had the outside patio area to roam and I planted myself by the huge fire pit. It seemed like a good spot since it’s been cold out lately, but got a little hot… luckily I was equipped with a new sweatband. There were huge flat screen TV’s outside, and the Cubs game came on one of them after a while. I gorged myself with delicious chicken tender bites with honey mustard dipping sauce, soft pretzels, and roast beef sliders with tater tots. The food kept coming but I couldn’t keep going. The Honkers beer washed that stuff down nicely.
The official photographer, Lawrence, did a great job going around and making people pose for pictures. Don’t you love it when you psyche people out by using their name from their name tag? The ShutterBox photo booth was there again, like a good friend that you really want to like but still feel awkward around. One of these days I’ll come up with the ultimate pose… one of these days.
The parting gifts were a nice touch. It felt like a kiss on a cheek after a lovely date. The carrot cake like cupcake was yummy and I could always use another pint glass. They also included a menu from the restaurant.

Let’s hear it for suburban Unilocalers is more like it! I know this event was supposed to be male-​centric but Jelena and Brick House went above and beyond with the private event they threw for us.
First of all, it was the PERFECT day for this. I spent most of my evening sitting on their ceiling-​ed patio enjoying the glorious weather and rocking my shiny new Unilocal wristbands.
The servers passed around many small bites: deviled eggs with bacon (!!!), chicken chunks, pretzels, cheesy chips, mini meatloaf sliders, mini roast beef sliders, and my favorite of the entire night… the side tater tots. Delicious! Upon further inspection of the menu, you can order them here plain, garlic parmesan, or covered in all-​meat chili and cheddar cheese. (Totally going back to Brick House).
People drank beer, cocktails, tea, water. People sat at the outdoor fire pit. People got their pictures snapped in the Shutterbooth. Some even won gift cards at the raffle.
The shocker of the night? When Jelena told us that Brick House was not going to let us tip them. As in, this entire evening of food and drinks was on them and they even covered the girls’ tips. How incredibly generous of them. Not to mention the Goose Island glass, beer cozy and cupcake you got to leave with. Yes, a cupcake party favor. A DARK CHOCOLATE cupcake — super fudgy, super delicious, super in my stomach right now. Amazing.
