Golf View Recreation Center

Facility is good but the mens basketball league is not ran well. I doubt the refs are IHSA like they say. They all just show up to get paid easy money. Most of the refs dont know the league rules from talking to other players on the other teams.

Excellent facility! I came here to see my niece play basketball. Though she lives in Rogers Park, she plays for Niles, since it’s a much safer neighborhood and a far better program than local parks offer in Chicago. Located on Caldwell just north of Howard (near TAM golf range), this place has ample parking and enough court space to allow 3 simultaneous games to take place.
The interior is well-​lit with natural sunlight from all the many windows around. The gym floor and corridors are clean and bright. Curtain dividers separate the basketball courts from each other. While I was there, the last court was unoccupied and there were even some extra basketballs around. My son, his cousin and some other kids got to play in the adjacent court while two games were going on. The curtain kept stray balls from rolling in and interfering with the games in progress.
Niles really has a fine place to play basketball that even some of the Park Ridge kids play there too, as I found out.

Figure I share this info since I bet there are quite a few people around Chicago looking for an affordable indoor basketball gym.
Hamlin Park cost $ 40 an hour to use their basketball court. No thanks
Xsport cost $ 20 — Ok but no one is there to play with and most of my friends wouldn’t pay that much to play basketball.
I found 1 public park that has free indoor gym but that place only have 2 rims which mean a very long wait.
I found out about Golf View from a friend and I was so glad to know about this place. $ 5 to use their basketball court if you are under 18 or $ 8 for 18+. This is a day rate not hourly which is perfect.
This place has 12 rims and plenty of people there on any given day playing basketball. Perfect!!!
I peeked around and it seems they offer a nice fitness room. Their monthly rate isn’t bad comparing to other fitness center.
