Comforts of Home Furniture

My husband and I purchased a beautiful wood piece from here that we decided to use for our wine glasses and China. We were told we would be contacted the following Monday for a delivery day and time. Monday came and left, Tuesday as well. By Wednesday my husband had already called 3x since Monday to find out when they were delivering and was given the same response each time, «the delivery company was going to be contacting us.» Finally on Thursday, my husband called the store AGAIN and this time they gave him the delivery companies info for HIM TO CALL! How unprofessional. The delivery company calls to say they will be delivering on Friday, the next day, but not sure what time yet. End of the day Thursday, still no delivery time window. Friday morning, my husband worked from home so he could let them in, called twice for a delivery time, no response. Finally, at 2 pm, the delivery company calls and said they already left the store they will have to deliver on Monday. My husband said absolutely not, we are going out of town Sunday, we want our delivery as scheduled. Friday night at 8 pm, we finally received our piece.
The next morning my husband walks through the front entry way where they brought the piece in through, to find our wall severely damaged. Literally chipped so bad the drywall came off. I immediately called the furniture store and told them what happened, (this being Saturday morning) and they filed a complaint with the delivery company. Monday, we get a call from the delivery company asking for a pic of the damage, which we sent immediately. The delivery company calls us back and says that’s not from us, sorry. Are you kidding me??? We just had our house painted two days prior so we know for an absolute fact that it was them! Not to mention it’s the entry way they came in to deliver! They refused to take responsibility for it and now the furniture company is doing the same. I spoke to the manager who told me they are legally not responsible for any damage that I need to take it up with the deliver company. THEIR DELIVERY COMPANY. I cannot believe we spent that much money to have them damage our walls and then not even try to make the situation right. This store is garbage as far as customer service. They’re unprofessional and their manager is so uneducated he didn’t understand the concept of why I was contacting the store to take care of this issue. I didn’t hire this delivery company, THEY DID! I paid for my product and the delivery fee to the STORE. I will never buy from here again, and now I have to file a complaint with the BBB against the store and the delivery company. And pay for their damages.

I will try to keep this short and simple. Normally I am not one for writing Unilocal reviews unless my experience has been absolutely TERRIBLE. We found this store and thought it was great! The sales reps and ‘owner’ were nice and the selection was good so we ended up buying a couple of furniture pieces from them.
Our hutch and table came in fine. We picked it up ourselves and noticed a scratch on the table. I called Matt and he told me he would call me back-​only got a text and then never heard from him again.
Then our dining room chairs were a no-​show. 4 – 6 weeks they said, back-​ordered. At MOST 8 weeks-​it says so on the receipt that they gave us. Now, we are at 11 weeks, multiple phone calls, lies regarding the status of our furniture and SHOCK-​no call from Matt, the ‘owner’. They offered to refund us the money only after I told them we were done waiting and we had had enough, Each person I talked to had no idea where our stuff was. And again, the owner of the store never called. Not once.
This experience was so bad, that I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We had been waiting for 3 months for furniture that was never coming. We were lied to about it for a month. We have called multiple times asking Matt to call back and he hasn’t yet.
I would never recommend shopping here. Matt is an immature, irresponsible business owner.
Oh, and I am kind of hoping that the business responds to my review because then at least they can tell me where Matt has been.

Great store, great selection, and great prices. They really stand behind their furniture. I bought a leather recliner that started rubbing on the bottom. Spoke with Matt and with in a few days he called me and had me come pick up my new recliner. No hassle or questions. Very simple pick up, didn’t try selling me on delivery or any extra B.S. charges. After finding out that I belonged to the Emerald Society of Illlinois the store has made several donations and it’s always them calling us to donate. Please keep them in mind when looking for furniture.

No part of my review is contradicting as you are claiming or inaccurate in any way. I do not appreciate you claiming my review «does not reflect the truth» as everything I’ve stated is 100% truthful.
I was originally quoted a price then, when I was filling out the paperwork to purchase the sofa, was told the price would be hundreds more and that I was «accidentally» given a price that was too low. So, yes, I still decided to purchase the sofa at the higher price because I had already selected the fabrics and I like the design of the sofa. At that time I had no idea how poor the construction would be, especially considering the price. The billing errors and sketchy delivery service occurred after I purchased the sofa so there was no going back at that point. If I could have returned the sofa after I received it due to the poor quality I absolutely would have but could not because it’s a customized sofa. Then, I mistakenly trusted the fact that the service repair company would actually attempt to repair my sofa, which they did not.
I decided to point out the additional service issues because you claimed to go «above and beyond» and I do not agree with that whatsoever. I mentioned I’m a sales rep because I know how this business works and a resolution could have been met but you chose not to further pursue one and that’s not how I conduct business.
Bottom line, I had an unpleasant overall experience with your store and I find the quality of the sofa to be quite poor. Based on those reasons I will not be a repeat customer and I’ll never purchase another piece of Rowe furniture.

Great furniture store with awesome employees! I was looking for american made and went to several different stores, even the bigger warehouse stores. No one else had what I was looking for, for the right price. Although the store is smaller and not everything is out on the floor, they have such a huge selection they can order. On top of that, the fabrics and options for customization are endless. Don’t bother going to a chain furniture store.

Great service and a nice selection of furniture. The team went above and beyond to ensure with had the right furniture and the delivery was prompt and with no issues. The prices are excellent too.

Support this family business. I had a great experience here. Matt and Allison helped us choose the right sleeper sofa for our growing family. They were very knowledgable about the quality and construction of their products. I compared the prices and specifications of other store’s products and I felt that Comforts of Home had the best options.

I highly recommend Comforts of Home Furniture. My husband and I have purchased several items from them and every time the experience has been wonderful. Mat and his staff are very friendly, fair, honest and helpful. I have never felt «sold» or ripped off. They sell quality products, have great relationships with their vendors, offer complimentary design consultation (within a close proximity to the store) and give great, honest advice. Prices are reasonable. Customer service is excellent!

Stopped by to check this place out and couldn’t believe the prices. Not only are the prices very good, but the quality is as well! The owners seem very friendly, and were more than willing to help with any questions I had. I will definitely be back for furniture to decorate my new place with.

Very impressed with their customer service. Reasonably priced furniture and plenty of catalogs to browse. Helene, their decorator, was magnificent and spent hours with me customizing my living room. Matt goes above and beyond to help you find the pieces you’re looking for!

This is the place to go if you want quality furniture at a fair price and more importantly CUSTOMER SERVICE…
I ordered a bed 12 months ago and the support legs were breaking (due to the weight of the memory foam mattress that I later added). I called and they said that they would research the purchase and get back to me. I was contacted within 24 hours and they told me that the bed was discontinued and that my warranty expired 6 weeks ago. Of course they had no obligation to assist me… yet… they offered to come to my home to inspect it. They came at the time specified and looked it over. After inspection they told me how it could be fixed and that I would need stronger support beams. They said that they would return in 30 minutes and did — with new bolts, new boards and even slide guards. They had the bed fixed in twenty minutes and when I asked how much do I owe you — They said «no thank you — it was our pleasure and we were happy to be of service». Amazing!
Now that is what will make me a life long customer. Good customer service is so hard to find these days. How refreshing!!!

My husband and I were looking for new living room furniture. After going to Carson’s Furniture, Penny Mustard Furniture, Walter E. Smithe Furniture, Ashley Furniture, and Darvin Furniture, we decided to stop at this local furniture store to just look around. We were pleasantly surprised! Comforts of Home Furniture has a variety of styles, manufacturers and prices of furniture. What made our trip to Comforts of Home furniture so successful was our sales lady, June. She was very informative and helpful. June helped us pull our living room furniture together from the rug for our floor to the pillows for our sofa! We were not pressured at all and was not rushed. (We were in the store for over two hours!) We were just informed and guided through our choices and purchases. We appreciated her patience, expertise, helpfulness, and friendliness. Their prices are very competitive. Their customer service is excellent.

Can I just say that I love Comforts of Home!!! I visited the store last weekend and the staff was super friendly. They seemed to understand that I wanted to shop around for different styles and even visit other stores as well, and they totally understood that and helped me consider different options and styles. It was really refreshing to not feel pressured to make a decision on the spot, and at the end of the day I ended up returning to this store to get my new bedroom set (mattress, headboard, dresser, nightstands, and wall mirror). I’ll definitely be going back once I convince the bf it’s time for a new living room set :) Great prices and great customer service– thumbs up!

My family has been coming to this spot for years and years back when it used to be Marjens so even though its new owners I had to come check it out. Honestly this place is awesome! I first came in here to get a big sectional for an extra room in my house. The sectional I liked came in like 20 different colors! I got to choose my own color and my own lay out that best fits my room. Matt helped me out with the measurements and had an answer for everything I asked. He really knows his stuff. This was enough to make me come back. The prices are good and delivery has always been on time. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

My husband & I purchased a sofa & coordinating chair grouping about a month ago & when the items were delivered it was clear that something was definitely wrong with the sofa. The store promptly sent out their repair man & he indicated that it was not a easy fix. The manager & staff kept in constant touch with me while trying to remedy the situation with the manufacturer. The store finally got tired of the run around from the manufacturer & ordered me a new sofa. Talk about someone going to the depths to satisfy their customer. Not many establishments have the great customer service that this one displayed. If your looking for great buys, that are backed up by a wonderful caring staff. Look no further. They are honest & will assure you happiness in the product you purchase. I’m goin back!!!

I am cheap so I shopped around all the bedding stores (back to bed, bedding experts… where dreams come trruueee.)
Seriously though I needed a plush top, queen size set for a good deal so I stopped in on my way to Cellis for a beef.
It was pretty smooth, walked in, saw the bed I wanted, told them my budget and deal was done.
I would of drove it home and saved on Delivery but I could not get a truck in time.

Came to Comforts of Home with my fiancé last week for a bedroom set and was very pleased. It’s a family owned and operated business which I appreciate off the bat. Their selection was very elaborate and all of the furniture was high quality. I spoke to a guy named Matt who was very helpful and responsive. I found exactly what I was looking for at a great price! I definitely recommend stopping in if your in the
market for furniture! 2 thumbs up! :)

Stopped in to look for living room furniture
(leather sectional sofa) and was thrilled by their customer service and offer to help me find something I really liked. When I finally found a piece but mentioned that I wished it was a different size and that I’d like the chaise in a different position, they showed me catalogs where it could be done to my specifications. Really friendly people with great prices. I can’t say enough good things about them.
Their delivery was SUPER FAST (delivered within a few days) The guys who brought it in and set everything up for me were quick and courteous.
Overall, I’m super happy to have bought with them and will be going back for more!
